Typical - Best Cup Final Goal Ever? Liverpool Cheated!

So how on earth can the best ever Cup Final goal be Gerrard's "win at all cost and to hell with the spirit of the game, hit and hope" effort in the Greatest Sporting Robbery of All Time Final?

OK, we know the stereotype that they will have the wheels off your car if you park up in the dark, but how was Scaloni to know that the Scousers would cheat and break every code in the game as he sportingly played the ball into touch so a wounded Red could receive treatment? For pity's sake, Scaloni is an Argie! Now I have nothing against Argentinians, well apart from the fact that they provided a refuge for Nazis and elected their own Fascist governments, but something pretty horrible seems to happen to them when they pull on a football shirt. Let's face it, you would not look through footage of Argentinian games if you were putting together a programme entitled "Great Sportsmanship Through the Ages" would you? You'd be more likely to find something worthy of inclusion from Nero or Caligula!

But this was it, this was the great exception to the irrefutable rule that all Argies are cheating b******s on a football field (except for Tevez whilst he was at West Ham of course!). Scaloni did the sporting thing, Scaloni played the ball into touch so an opponent could be treated! And how did Liverpool respond, by ramming down the bemused Scaloni's throat his silly misconception that Brits believe in fair play. Step forward Jamie The Cheat & Traitor Carragher to give an instruction NOT to throw the ball behind for a goal kick at the restart but to throw it to Scaloni and press him. Poor guy, suddenly, as the ball arrived at his feet, he remembered the Belgrano! But too late son, too late! The torpedo was already being armed. Scaloni thumped the ball forward, Gerrard swung his boot and...well the rest is history.

Best Cup Final Goal ever? Best example of bad sportsmanship more like. If you want the greatest Cup Final goal ever, what about Brooking's stunning stooping header?

Embarrassing post that. Get a grip and don't be so bitter... you had your chances in the game and blew it!

Maybe they should have chosen Paul Konchesky's cross as the greatest FA Cup Final goal of all time?

Jeez!

It puzzles me how West Ham fans can accuse anyone of cheating when they would be playing in the second tier of English football if it weren't for fielding ineligble players?

Quite laughable really....

Scott said...

Please get over it.
I don't want everyone thinking we're all as bitter as you.
Great goal however much it hurt.

John, re "fielding ineligble players?". Tevez was never ineligible, you might want to look at the facts rather than going by the poor coverage from the newspapers.

Jordan who gives a toss ? ye guys were found guilty of wrong - doing whether he inelligible or not - get a grip and stop bein a bitter sad hammer

Anonymous said...

So Gerrard's magnificent effort was a "hit-and-hope", but no mention of west Ham's third goal which was a fluke. At least Gerrard was meaning to hit it on target. The west ham goal wasn't even meant to be a shot.

Anonymous said...

all west ham fans are tosser anyway !!

Anonymous said...

but reina was shown up for the awful keeper he is by letting it in...

Anonymous said...

hey, Hammers fan, as a scouserI would sincerely like to apologise to you for not letting your rubbish little team win because you won,t ever come as close to winning anything else during your horrible little lifetime. As for East London goes (not exactly little England your East end is it? more like a war torn Bangladesh) .
Jog on you stupid little taxi driving tit Ha ha ha ha

Hammersfan said...

LOL 1348, the player "injured" was a Liverpool player you fool, so you have just compounded the evidence of cheating by pointing out that Scaloni should never have put the ball out in the first place because a Liverpool player was feigning injury. I hope your Dad doesn't call you as a star defence witness the next time he is before the beak! "eeeaaaaghhh yeah, my dad was with me like on the night of the eeeeaaarrrghhh buglary like. eeeeaaarghhhh where was we? eeeeeeaaaarghhhhhh we was breaking in to number 23 like cos our neighbours were on 'oliday in eeeeaaarrrghhhh Benidorm like."

Hammersfan said...

Shush mate! They think this is all serious! Well this one is! We was robbed! I hate Carragher! No, I really really really do hate Carragher. Not just for that incident but because he betrayed England. And because of that voice! God that voice goes through me like a dentist's drill!

I have to say you have a talent for grating people or is it people just can't see what's really going on?

Hammersfan said...

I think football fans have little keys in their backs. You just twist them five times, then let go! Rattle, rattle, rattle, round and round in circles! I may be sad but boy do I laugh!

To Liverpool fans...

As a West Ham fan I'd like to state that we're not all sad pricks like Hammersfan (the author) so please don't tar the rest of us with his brush.

He writes this crap all the time and get slated by the West Ham fans as well.

Anonymous said...

West Ham were given the ball back, but now your saying theres some rule that you have to wait a set period of time before you can tackle any player. Where does it say this and is there a minimum amount of time. You had better get in touch with the FA, UEFA and FIFA to make them aware of this catastophic break down in the rules. You may just save world football. I always thoght the ref should decide if the game is to stop not players.

Look lets get the facts straight you only put the ball out to kill time anyway, isn't that a kind of cheating, I think it's called time wasting, you could have played on but YOU chose to kick the ball out to waste some time.

Oh and Tevez wasn't ineligible, then why did the Premier league changed the rules on third party ownership

Hammersfan said...

I don't know why they changed the rules. He's been playing for the Mancs for 2 years even though they don't own him! Campaign to get points deducted from Man U, it's the only way you lot will ever win the title!

Anonymous said...

It was only after Sheff Utd complained and it went to court that the PL changed the rules, he had already signed a two year loan deal with an option to buy with Man Utd by then.

Anonymous said...

How sad are you. Bubbled Celtichammer/Hammersfan is deleting posts from people defending themselves cos he can't win an argument. I'm your worst nigthmare mate as there was allready people who had allready read the deleted posts so now you really do look like the shrinking fool.

Anonymous said...

You do talk sense Hammersfan

Anonymous said...

Come on hammersfan pick your dummy back up

Anonymous said...

What's the point in having comments to a blog if you are just going to doctor comments because they make you look a fool. Come on respond and stop being a coward. An east end boy who can't stand and fight.hey hey.

Anonymous said...

The PL changed the rules after Sheff Utd complained and took it to court, Tevez had already signed a two year loan with the option to buy with Man Utd by then. This deal was also investigated and no wrong doing was found. So why would Man Utd need to have Points deducted?

Hammersfan said...

I do not "doctor comments" unless they are obscene, or racist. I do ot, as a rule, delete any comments either unless they break the obscene or racist rules. As I said elsewhere, there has been a moron posting about a porn star and so I have had to put on the filter system for now. Blame him, not me. To be honest, I don't care if you think Celtic Hammer is me, it is amusing to delude you either way. He isn't. Yes he is actually. No he isn't. Yes he is actually. But seriously, he isn't / is / isn't / is / isn't! See, how much further forward are you? Meantime, the Blog keeps hitting Top of the Pops on the News Now boards, and you are helping! It's so wonderfully ironic! I look a fool! The delicious irony!

Anonymous said...

So explain why you doctored the comments about you having a double ID because I have not been racist abusive or offensive in any way. In my attack about your ID it is in the defence of all decent West ham fans.

gary get in the car now mate said...

to hammersfan; I think football fans have little keys in their backs. You just twist them five times, then let go! Rattle, rattle, rattle, round and round in circles! I may be sad but boy do I laugh! lmao nice one hehehehe

So that's your objective to be 'Top of the pops' on the newsnow boards. That's a bit sad if it's the only way to gain attention. It's friday night so try speed dating.

1724, playing football tonight so couldn't fit in a date, no matter how fast. Hour's footy, few pints, curry, home to bed. Then up in the AM to check out a repo property in sunny old Deptford! Millwall territory! Repossession - what do they expect, giving mortgages to Millwall fans? Still, if you want to hook up for a quicky another time, email me your picture.

1704, I said on another thread that in the light of having to delete 50 or so references to a porn actress, I was deleting any lies at the same time. I am not Celtic Hammer. Or maybe I am. Annoying either way aint I?

Hammersfan said...

Oh and 1724, no TOTP on News Now isn't my objective, my objective to to relax by posting my opinions on all matters West Ham and West Ham related. But it is always pleasant to be successful isn't it? The org can't keep up for example. It takes poor Nev a whole week to write two paragraphs!

Oh man, I wish I was playing footie against you tonite. My studs would have loved to have shown your shinpads a bit of attention.

Hammersfan said...

I don't wear shin pans. I'm not a pansy.

That's offensive toward anyone who wares shinpads so your post should be deleted.

I'm in the Billy Bonds school. Hard, uncompromising, unforgiving. If the shin pad wearers don't like it, tough. I'll take them out at the knee! ; )

My favourite FA Cup goal of all time is Norman Whiteside's '85 winner against Everton.

Oh sorry, I forgot the point of this post was to hurl abuse.

Sigh, I'll go elsewhere.

Hammersfan said...

Apache, the point of this post is to challenge the verdict. I 100% passionately believe that Liverpool cheated in the build up to the goal. To term it the best goal ever in a final is insulting to all the legitimate ones.

Denbighammer said...

I don't really agree. Having been stood right behind it, it was a super effort. Hit and hope is extremely ungenerous. I take your point about Scaloni, although I was annoyed he didn't hoof it out the length of the field rather than toe-bop it out in a dangerous position. My fave FA Cup Final goal (non-West Ham of course) is Norman Whitesides for Man U in 1985. Super run and powerful, clever shot to beat the worlds best goalie and win the cup - don't get much better. The ball seems to hang and you really get to appreciate it as it curls into the corner. Nice.

Anonymous said...

You retard,I'll tell you why that goal was great.

Name one Hammers player who could do what Gerrard did then. Oh leave it, name any other player on entire planet who could do that then? Can't think of one yeah?

May be it make you happy to think that Konchesky's cross was a better goal. If that is so, so be it. You are a sad retard anyway, no one gives a damn.

Hammersfan said...

A Millwall player scored a better one at Wembley against Scunthorpe last weekend mate. I think he is still on this planet!

Anonymous said...

Hammersfan please explain how the actions you descibe can be classed as cheating.
They could be classed as unsporting or ungentlemanly but not cheating as no rules were broken, even then the ball was given back to your team it wasn't like they threw it to their own player, also they still had to get it to Gerrard and he still hit it from way out (no one closed him down or blocked the shot)

Scouse Billy said...

I was there and felt very sorry for the West Ham fans I talked with after the game. All of them agreed but for a magnificent strike they had won the cup.

A great set of fans from a great club.

Howevere, you are a sad little muppet, grow up and get over it.

Hammersfan said...

Carragher himself boasts about it in his book mate. Arsenal didn't cheat when they scored that goal against Sheffield United but Wenger offered to replay the game. Yeovil didn't cheat when they accidentally scored when trying to return the ball - but the whole team stood still and let the opposition walk the ball into the net to redress the balance. I remember Fowler telling the referee not to award him a penalty - respect! But Carragher? Cheat and traitor. He knew what he was doing, he knew it was against the spirit of the game and he knew he was ordering the team to seek an unfair advantage. And, I'm sorry to say, I've hated Liverpool ever since.

apache said...

Fanno, not sure what you think Liverpool should have done, pass it all the way back to their 'keeper and start from there?

It hurt like hell and still does, but I've never thought it even close to cheating.

Hammersfan said...

They should have thrown the ball out for a goal kick Apache mate. We would have.

apache said...

You sure? 90 minutes up, in an FA Cup final?

Let it go fella!

Anonymous said...

If your player had got out of the way then the ball would have gone out for a corner anyway, instead of leaving it to run out for a corner he just hoofed it up field. You certainly have got a problem with liverpool mate that you are presuming that the throw in that was sent toward your player who was 5 yards away from the touchline had he moved and let it run that another liverpool player would have run for it. There is only one person to blame and that was scaloni for standing there in the first place and then for not letting it run out of play resulting in a goal kick to West Ham.

Hammersfan said...

You are confused mate, corner or goal kick? Look, don't believe me, read Carragher's book, he admits to gamesmanship and to giving the instruction. But being Carragher and a Scouser, he thinks it shows him in a good light! Eeeaaargggh Chapter 10 eeeeaaarrrgh How I cheated in the Cup Final.

Hammersfan said...

Apache - Yes. 90th minute, first minute, any minute, we would have returned the ball for a goal kick. Have faith, this is West Ham!

Anonymous said...

I think you are the person a bit confused. There is no mention of West Ham and that FA cup final in chapter 10 where you claim Carragher admits to cheating. The FA cup final is mentioned in chapter 11 under the title 'Spanish Steps' but again there is no mention from Carragher about the incedent. Scaloni is mentioned though when Carra claims it was a low point in his carear when he put Scaloni's cross into his own net. Again the incedent you refer to the ball was thrown in the direction of the touchline and if the West Ham player had let it run out for a goalkick rather than lumping it to the half way line then Gerrard maybe would not have scored.

Anonymous said...

Maybe instead of pretending you have read his book you should invest in a copy and then you may begin to understand after reading the reasons for his retirement which seems to be focus to your bitterness.
