West Ham Injury Jinx Strikes Again
Ok, we have got used to our top players being struck down with injuries: Gabbidon, Collins, Parker, Bellamy, Ljungberg, Ashton, Dyer, Collison...the list goes on and on. But you know there's a bloody jinx when a BBC commentator is carted off to hospital half way through the game!
According to a press statement, Nigel Adderley is going to be taking a couple of days off to recuperate but is planning to be back in work in a few weeks. I hope that is true but if the jinx really has got him, then the BBC shouldn't be making plans for Nigel anytime soon. What starts as a fit is likely to become a cruciate ligament, a broken ankle, a migraine caused by eating cheese, a deep seated groin injury, an abdominal period pain and God only knows what else!
Still, if they move Adderley into our treatment room, messers Ashton and Dyer might actually feature in a match commentary at long last! "We have heard the whistle and the roar of the crowd signifying that the game has kicked off and I can see Ashton opening one eye before turning over to continue his doze. Dyer, meanwhile, has hobbled over to the minibar for a gin and tonic."

Wisely, they whisked The Beeb's man off to hospital. Let's face our record over the last two years with treating the injured doesn't make for comfortable viewing.
