Adriano On The Horns Of a Dilemma

Poor old Adriano faces a terribly difficult choice: should he join Milan, Roma or West Ham? You can see his problem. Should he opt for top flight football in Italy, playing less games a season and in a country where forwards are afforded much greater protection by referees than in England, or should he join West Ham? Should he play in a country where he knows the language, or should he join West Ham? Should he challenge for domestic and European honours, or should he join West Ham? Should he set up home in a centre of culture and haute couture, or should he join West Ham? Should he play alongside top internationals, or should he join West Ham? Should he pay lower taxes, or should he join West Ham? Should he play in a stadium that holds 80,000, or should he join West Ham? Should he join a club whose future is guaranteed, or should he join West Ham?

Hmmm, I would hate to be faced with so tricky a decision! What do you think he will do anybody?

I am guessing it will come down to who offers the best/longest financial package

It beats me as to why the media latch on to these names, like ADRIANO,BARTOLLI,CHAMAKH and make a connection to WESTHAM.Surely no one in their right mind expects players of that calibre to be coming to WESTHAM.I've read about how ZOLA is a great admirer of BARTOLLI and would like to have him at WESTHAM,but wishing and getting, are two different things.Having said that a loan deal can't be ruled out, because of the ZOLA connection. But who in their right mind would want to come to the club permanantly,in it's present predicament.

GOLD and SULLIVAN are sniffing around,I've read, looking to invest in the club, but without actually buying at this present time.Beggers can't be choosers I say.If they can provide £20-30 million for the January window, that could be the lifeline the club needs. At the same time they have offered their expertise in running the club.Obviously they lack the financial clout of an ABRAMOVICH or a MANSOUR which is their major turnoff, but rumours of a consortium being formed with major investors, with them running the show would certainly appeal.

Should you support Real Madrid or West Ham?

Hammersfan said...

Odd question. Being from East Ham, I should support West Ham surely?

Ask Di Canio why he went to Celtic. And I live in North London but support West Ham.

I think the difference is as a fan you have a passion and loyalty for a club as a player you have a passion for the game and a loyalty to your bank balance
Ask some ex West Ham players how much loyalty the club has shown them

Just adding to what Deane wrote; players put money, honours and games before club support. Let's just say Noble finds it difficult to get into our team now, and is told by the manager that he's surplus to requirements, so what does he do? Then, a smaller club, Tottenham for arguments purposes :), come along and offer him money and games. He goes right? They get their break where they can. Noble did start off on Arsenal's books.

I know I wouldn't, but I'm just a fan who'd play for his club for free.

You ask why Adriano would come to East London from a more desirable country, and I say for the same reason Di Canio went to Celtic from Italy.

I see. But who else wanted Di Canio? His record of six goals in 37 games for AC Milan hardly marked him out as a world beater.
