Steve Clarke Speaks Out
Following the dismissal of his great friend Gianfranco Zola, Steve Clarke has spoken up and said...precisely nothing. As the world awaits in anticipation of a broadside from out of the shed where the bibs and bollards are stored, all we hear is the sound of silence.
Am I alone in thinking this strange? What kind of friend is Clarke exactly? Wouldn't you expect him to show solidarity with Zola? Surely a statement expressing regret (or dismay even) might be in order? Have I missed something perhaps? Has Clarke walked, saying that he couldn't possibly stay at the club after Gianfranco's sacking? Has he come out and said the sacking is a terrible mistake? Has he assured the world that Zola will prove himself a great manager in the future? If not, why not?
Is he looking after Number 2 perhaps, anxious to keep hold of his own hopelessly inflated salary? Or is he hoping to get the top job himself? Or does he understand that Sullivan and Gold had no other choice, having experienced first hand Zola's inexperience, seen the folly of his decision making? Clarke was a full back himself wasn't he? Surely he could see how hopelessly unsuited Spector was to the left back role?
It is all conjecture at the moment of course. The sun is setting on the training ground and Steve Clarke is busy for the moment, collecting up the bollards, folding away the bibs. Perhaps when everything is locked away safely in the shed, he will find the time to talk. Perhaps.

When you are getting paid over 1 million quid a year you learn to keep your gob shut. Or he will be the next out the door.
Forgot to say. Do you feel that with Clarke staying it kind of confirms Avrams arrival? Most managers want their own backroom staff and assistants but Avram has already worked with Clarke so I'm assuming he has already said he wants to work with him.
Yep, I'm inclined to agree on both counts. But if Clarke is so good, why does he need to worry? Surely, like Zola, he will walk into another job, won't he?
Are you struggling for subject HF??? Why not talk about proper fans websites like KUMB or Westhamonline and how much better your blog is compared to them????
Id still love Martin Jol think he would be the best option as relative success always follows the man
We have seen the two Davids policy on getting rid of staff. Find something in their contract to say they have breached it and fire them without compensation. With Zola it was that he spoke out about the owners. A bit lame if you ask me. Zola is now challenging that dismissal by WHUFC through the LMA. So I guess if Clarke stays quiet and doesn't breach his contract then they can't sack him without paying compensation.
Steve Clarke is tremendous coach and we are very lucky to have him. Look how much the defence has improved as the season has gone on. ope he stays and works with avram. HF obsessed with everything Zola again what a sad old man
Do some of you twats ever bother to look at the facts? I quote: "Steve Clarke is tremendous coach and we are very lucky to have him. Look how much the defence has improved as the season has gone on."
Now the facts! Reading backwards from the LAST game of the season:
Man City at home - 1 goal conceded.
Fulham away - 3 goals conceded.
Wigan at home - 2 goals conceded.
Liverpool away - 3 goals conceded.
Sunderland at home - A CLEAN SHEET!
Everton away - 2 goals conceded.
Stoke at home - 1 goal conceded.
Wolves at home - 3 goals conceded.
Arsenal away (reduced to 10 men!) - 2 goals conceded.
Chelsea away - 4 goals conceded.
Bolton at home - 2 goals conceded.
Man Utd away - 3 goals conceded.
So in the last 12 games of the season, we kept ONE CLEAN SHEET and conceded, on average 2.16 goals per game!
Brilliant, just brilliant! Just imagaine the team talk. "We are so strong at the back that we only need to score 3 goals to get something from the game!"
1756 You sir are a brainless twat!
I think you've just been had, mate.
Hook, line and sinker. LOL
Who has?
Hammersfan you went to all that troube to provide stats for a wind up. You sir are a brainless twat.
I see. You made a twat of yourself and now you are trying to pretend it was a wind up! Doesn't wash I'm afraid.
Oooooooooops report me to the computer police as i said a rude word. maybe il ose my job over it wouldnt that be funny you twat
Yep, confirmed. Exposed as an idiot so you revert to posting obscenities. What a moron you are.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha cant wait for the knock on my door what a rude word that was. Im sure google are desperate to act over this 2 bob blog. Best you delete all your previous stories with swearing in it as it may make you look like a 2 faced hypocritical moron. Total mug no wonder you are so hated on this blog.
I've missed your mad rants in a strange way. What happened, did you go into hiding when it dawned on you that your employer could be contacted?
Prick im self employed anyway love to see me get sacked
HF - you are a week late old chap. Various West ham forums were chatting about the rumour that Clarke had told the board that Zola wasn't up to the job of manager and the players were doing whatever they liked. Bonds and Redknapp part II
Is that right?
perhaps he should resign - have you called for this HF?
perhaps he should donate his salary to charity - have you called for this HF?
have spoken to the davids HF? did you call for their action?
Oh and please stick the "facts" where the sun don't shine - we're not interested
But you are interested, that's why you keep returning!
I love seeing all the crap that's thrown your way, without doubt you're the most hated fans blog ever - great sport in a fox hunting kind of way - it's also a little like the Christians and the lions - and in case you haven't guessed - you're not a lion
22.47 You really are a worldclass dumbass. Your comments are childish and pathetic. Do us all a favour and go away. Another Zola Zombie most likely.
HF, there are too many things linking back to Grant to say that he has not been offered the job already. I think it's a done deal.
First, we were linked with both O'Hara and Boateng, who are both at Pompey with Grant
Then there's the managerial rumours that have suddenly stopped I.e. because someone (Grant) has already been given the job
Then there's Grant's straight batted reply to the question of being linked with West Ham, which was that he has a cup final, and that is all he wants to concentrate on
Then there's G&S who said they wanna appoint a manager within 3 weeks I.e after a possible FA cup winners parade which Grant will have to be at should Pompey win
And finally the working with Clarke point you've made
Yep. I called it before Zola was sacked.
April 14th to be precise - "Avram Grant Offered West Ham Job"
Alright alright! Maybe you two frequent the same places and he told you ;)
i think HF should become our new manager
i think HF should become our new manager
You can say that again ;)
the reason why I come here:

HF is one ★★★★★★★ ★★★★!
★★★★★You can copy paste 'em woooo! Sorry★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★
I'm not a Christian either!
it's getting really difficult to wade through all the crap to see if anyone is offering any productive counter argument
People personal abuse doesn't really show much thought or intelligence Like the od saying those that resort to violence have lost the argument
The Org is down so they have to amuse themselves somehow Deane.
I was hoping to read some comments about my club, but all I got was the blogger and a numpty abusing each other. guess I'll go elsewhere
