Zola - The Squatter In Green Street
The votes have been cast, the people who count the most have had their say (Sullivan & Gold in this case), and it is only a matter of time before Zola bows to the inevitable, clears his desk and makes way for his replacement. A meeting is scheduled for next week to thrash out the details and, in the meantime, Zola continues to pick the team and plan for next season because, not to do so would, in Zola's words, be "unprofessional". But we know Zola is on his way out, unless, in a desperate attempt to cling to power, he strikes a deal with another party and agrees to work in a coalition, with Avram Grant perhaps?
If Zola goes, another coalition is possible to replace him, with Mr Armani, Alan Pardew, climbing into bed with the old warhorse who cannot smile, Avram Grant. Whoever is in charge after all this has been thrashed out, will face a tough job, because of the massive deficit caused by the international banking crisis with it's epicentre in Iceland.
Does any of this sound familiar by any chance?

But hang on HF, the enfranchised public, both supporters and opposition alike, have all had their chance to bring about the much touted 'change' and 'reform' they believe is required, but guess what...it hasn't happened! So, with no 'deals' or decisions likely until at least Monday, we are in limbo and still at square one!
I'm referring to West Ham of course...I wouldn't waste time or words mixing sport with politics!
So is that your next BIG prediction? Pards back in charge of the team with Happy Grant upstairs?! That's IF, and only IF GZ departs of course?!
I'll reiterate what I said on an earlier post then...it was my understanding that a 'technical director (of football)' was not required by DG & DS, which is why they gave Nani the tin-tack?! The salary was a non-essential luxury, hence scrapped in line with Miss Brady's ruthless cost-cutting policy, and he wasn't up to much!
...and do you think Pardew is really going to want to return knowing full well that he won't be required to give his four-penneth on any new acquisitions, and simply work with what he's got and gets given?!! Hmmm, I wonder?
It seems as if Clegg is happy to do so.
Like I said...politics and football don't mix, well, not in my book anyway! So, analogies aside, could you clarify our 'position' on my Pardew/Grant question?
Oops...that should have read 'your' and not 'our' position, obviously!
Trying to form a coalition with me obviously Shaun! What's your position on proportional representation before I consider your proposition?
It's not a prediction, it's a wish, and a play on what's happening in the political world at the moment. The idea of Pardew and Grant climbing into bed together is amusing; presumably it would be in a massage parlour.
Yeah, slight faux pas there HF! To form a coalition, we'd require similar views and objectives, and to be honest, Pards and Grant in any kind of harmony...whether it be in bed, in a massage parlour OR at West Ham!...just doesn't appeal to me! It just sounds very wrong!
