He has encouraged the team to pass the ball on the ground - so much so that I find myself thinking, just play the bloody ball forward. The trouble is, there's nobody up top to play the ball too! My issue is with BFS's style of football and its effect on both the players and the supporters. I don't think that he is deploying the resources available to him effectively. The only three currently putting in solid shifts on a regular basis appear to be Noble, Tomkins & Jussi. The team seems listless, directionless and lacking in ideas and I think that they don't really get or agree with what BFS sets them out to do. And after 18 months of his often dour tactical approach, the effect is one of absolute despondency amongst the supporters. I have been a season ticket holder for 25+ years and attend a number of away games each year. Crystal Palace away was a high tide mark for me - it was the worst atmosphere (from a West Ham fan's perspective) that I have ever experienced - think 500+ matches home and away since the early 1980's. I know that stadia and the profile of supporters have changed but we had nothing to work with fan wise. We have even lost our famed sense of irony. I was sat with the Palace fans and a number said how understated we were. I see this at home games too but it was particularly pronounced at Palace. It was a trend anyway but it has been accelerated by BFS. It is all well and good pouring scorn on the fans and saying that we need to be the 12th man but it is bloody hard when we have nothing whatsoever to work with. We need crunching tackles, cheeky flicks and moments that inspire or lift us. It is OK to fail, but can we at least fail with style and skill, grit or endeavour? We have nothing whatsoever to cheer about - that is why we need a change. I would settle for BFS changing his style and going back to absolute basics. He has enough talent at his disposal to lift us up the table and get the fans onto their feet and backing the team once again. Come on Sam, mix it up and let the players imaginations flow - don't stifle them, you know it makes sense and we do really need it right now...Croydon Hammernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4157334771526760271.post-70211819574420742122013-12-17T14:49:54.084+00:002013-12-17T14:49:54.084+00:00Well said Well said Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4157334771526760271.post-24080747854586255832013-12-17T10:31:12.923+00:002013-12-17T10:31:12.923+00:00Personally I don't understand all these commen...Personally I don't understand all these comments! The FFP comments were a load of old tosh as no one else gave a damn. I doubt BFS would have said no. BFS has his critics but he's managing with one hand behind his back. We were linked with everyone but the kitchen sink (which is quite common since S & G came along) but they always end up going somewhere else. Talk about a rock and a hard place. Bubbles is roared out and with the slightest encouragement a cauldron of noise is generated, but you can't roar out groans. How the hell can people back a team that doesn't have a hope in hell of scoring a goal? Jarvis gets the ball and what do we know will happen? A pathetic, lame attempt at a cross. Maiga gets the ball and what do we know will happen? An attempt on goal that makes Carlton Cole look like Messi and Ronaldo rolled into one. This situation is of Sullivan's making!

Now let's look at your earlier rant. In one breath you say Sullivan and Gold are acting out of love, and in the next you write, "And if they sell at a profit in the future then they would have earned the right to do so given the investment they'd have made to get us to that point".

Now, anybody can make a short term profit if they sell the family home! At least 50% of the club's debt will be wiped out by selling the land on which the Boleyn is built, if Sullivan and Gold strike a deal whereby they share the profit made on developing the land, then they will be quids in. Then sell the brand and there's a nice little pot to pass on to young Jack.

Of course Sullivan is now going to pump money in, because if we go down, all his plans will unravel. Love? Where was that love when, as joint Chairmen of Birmingham City, they called on their team to send West Ham down by beating us on the last day of the season in Roeder's relegation year? Could you put money ahead of West Ham's survival in the Prem? I couldn't! If they wanted to make money the last thing they'd do is buy into a football club. Especially one full of debt. They're businessmen, and that'd be by far the worst business decision they could make.

Surely it's clear by now that their intentions are to move the club forward. And if they sell at a profit in the future then they would have earned the right to do so given the investment they'd have made to get us to that point.

They've taken a massive risk and I think, particularly from the latest interview you can tell Sullivan's being quite genuine. He's concerned with the current state and is gonna have to work hard for the club to ensure we stay up. That means investing more of his own money with the best case scenario being to break even.

He's pumping his money into the club while you sit at home blogging, to do nothing more than feed your ego. Your post basically says "I told you so" and frankly, no-one gives two shits what you told us. We all know what's going on.

One major problem with the modern supporter seems to be this feeling that we are hard done by and the club should do more for us. How about fans start playing their part and fucking lifting the team at games. Upton Park is silent lately. If you wanna make a real difference, don't write a blog to make yourself feel important. Instead turn up to the games and become part of the 12th man that the west ham faithful were known to be for years. Once upon a time our fans had a reputation and right now all we do is moan and groan. We have some pivotal matches coming up. Start ripping into these opposition teams and getting behind the boys, instead of writing bullshit blogs to feed your ego.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4157334771526760271.post-12090809387300003842013-12-17T00:20:28.585+00:002013-12-17T00:20:28.585+00:00Did you only read the one book as a child?Did you only read the one book as a child?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4157334771526760271.post-28495305331174562502013-12-16T18:43:15.995+00:002013-12-16T18:43:15.995+00:00LOL Guess who swallowed Sullivan's bullshit 18...LOL Guess who swallowed Sullivan's bullshit 1801!

1833, you seem a little confused. Fair ...A little bit hysterical don't you think? Fair play was always a bit lame in the old excuse department! Especially when you consider if they had just told the truth(ie, that although we were back in the prem our finances were still perilous at best and any big signings were unlikely due to the mountain of debt we were still labouring under!), at least then we would have known were we were! Also, yes we are now at the mercy of mercenary players and agents but this price is a pittance compared with what would happen if the club were relegated again! Which is worth mentioning as another demotion could very well spend the end for the club! There should be no doubts about this! It maybe should be also worth mentioning the same outcome was waiting for Big Sam if he didn't win promotion with no money and no players just two seasons ago! It is true the financial situation has eased a little since our return but they are not that much better that we are anymore than just a few steps away from the financial abyss! Finally, as for heading to the knackers yard? Well I thought we were moving into a brand new Olympic Stadium home in two years time?!
