The Mordant Org
Things are looking a bit desperate over at the Mordant Org. Even Archbishop Aycliffe has resorted to asking where everybody has gone and saying a prayer for the soul of the formerly vibrant West Ham chat forum. His reference to a self imposed ban brought Tricky Dicky Nixon out of his bunker to protest that the Klan Komittee had not Konvened to Knock out another Kontributer. Grumpy (pictured pleasuring a Henry?) of course put it down to international week and claimed it is always slack during weeks when west Ham are not playing, but that hardly explains why there was more chat and laughter at Jade Goody's funeral than in the Org's chat rooms today. West Ham decimated by injuries sweep aside Sunderland, featuring a returning Anton, with goals from two Academy boys, and the best the Org can muster is Grumpy's "Go Dyer" and the woefully inaccurate "I can feel another goal coming..." I'm waiting Dave. I'm waiting. As usual, you don't know what you're fking talking about! Mind you, that hardly compares with his opinion that there is nothing left to play for! I thought we were trying to get into Europe!
The truth of the matter, of course, is that if you stifle debate, you smother a forum. Controversy feeds debate; if everybody agrees with everybody else, there's nothing to talk about. The Org is dying on its feet whilst the back slappers gradually creep away, bored by the hollowness of the contributions. How long before the Klan find themselves talking to themselves? Hi Wrighty. Hi Dave. Hi Irons. Alright Bruv? How you diddling Bruv? Remember that club in Chelmsford Bruv? Cattle market Bruv. LOL Bruv. Carlton Cole is crap Bruv. Too right Bruv. Hi Jase. How you diddling Bruv? Great Bruv. Boys did good Bruv. Boys always do good Bruv. Support the manager Bruv. Support the club Bruv. Too right Bruv. Hate the Spuds Bruv. Hate the Spuds too Bruv. Better without Fanno Bruv. Much better Bruv. Still there Dave? Dave, you still there bruv? Still there Jase? Still there Irons? Well I'm still here, not in Shanghai but here. Anybody else here? Bruv? Bruv? Bruv? Talk to me Bruv!
why are you so bitter? you have your own little site now. stop worrying what is going on elsewhere! you werent wanted so get over it
ReplyDeleteI'm not bitter! Who says I'm bitter? Who are you? Leave a name please. There is nothing bitter in the post. It is an observation based on what is happening. Perhaps if Marty was welcomed back, things might pick up. Welcome back Hotshot and it would really buzz along again. Chat rooms need disagreement to work.
ReplyDeleteI found it hilarious! Hotshot C
ReplyDeleteHotshot? Is it really you mate? Now that would be an honour! Come on and give me stick, but please no foul language or racism mate!
ReplyDeleteFanno, I think you are missed. Hotshot, nah. I tell you what I do like about your site is the fact that supporters of other clubs can weigh in with opinions.
ReplyDeleteCheers Apache. All welcome here providing the obscenities are kept in check. I think it is genuinely sad what has happened at the Org. A small band of Orthodox Bullies forced out any dissidents. I know Hotshot was extreme but most of it was tongue in cheek, people just took the bait far too easily. I enjoyed my exchanges with him because I knew it was all in fun. So many seem to have abandoned the Org now. Where is Dutch for example?
ReplyDeleteSorry that this is not a West ham thing but I had to get it off my chest and I don't want to post it elsewhere. It's a pity this isn't a chat forum as there's plenty of good stuff here mixed with just the right amount of irreverence.
ReplyDeleteI have just read about some aspects of the derby at Cardiff City where 450 police (one for each forty four people), horses plus support staff were on duty to prevent trouble. Visiting Swansea supporters had to be escorted into the stadium - What the …..?
What is wrong with society there in the UK? Where is the self discipline? Where is the self pride? Where is the self respect? Where is the respect for others? This is indicative of nothing less than mass gormlessness.
There's a short, grumpy individual on the mordant.org who often asserts that the country is 'unserviceable' - maybe he's spot on the money in this respect.
Is attendance at a footy match generally seen as a 'family friendly' there in the UK? I have to say that I would hesitate to take my family where circumstances would indicate it is not. If so, this cannot augur well for the game or the community - it's sport for God's sake.
Here in Oz we have our fair share of trouble making idiots, but for the most part football crowds (all sporting crowds for that matter), though extremely passionate, are pretty well behaved and it is entirely common for fans of opposing teams to be mingled in their seating arrangements. The air is usually one of civility and fun and is usual to see whole families attend matches in that spirit.
If it is the case, when and where did the 'old country' lose it?
Mate, as somebody who attended games in the 70s, I can tell you things have improved hugely. I well remember a friendly between Yeovil Town and Millwall. I must have been 13. This 16 year old Millwall fan showed me a comb and asked, "What's this then?" When I said comb, he said, "That's what you think" and pulled a five inch blade out of the plastic cover. I was beaten up on a tube train by Plymouth fans (They were playing Palace and I was wearing my West Ham colours), got caught up in a ruck between Leeds and Southampton fans (I hadn't even been to the game)and my brother was hospitalised by Liverpool fans. When I attend games now, I do not feel threatened. Football is a passionate game and tempers do flare - I got very upset at the end of the Cup Final when a Southern Scouser got in my face and mocked West Ham's efforts in the penalty shoot out - but generally speaking, most of the exchanges now seem in good spirit, though I understand that at some recent away games there has been an increasing sense of intimidation.
ReplyDeleteI have seen games in Italy and I can tell you it is MUCH worse there. That doesn't make it perfect over here but what used to be called the "English disease" should more properly be called the "Italian disease" (Or the Welsh disease after the Cardiff / Swansea game?)
As much as I'd like to take 'The Ed' to task and respond to his stupid post on the mordant.org; I wont do that as I don't want to give that writer's (I use the term advisedly) view any credence at all. I'll respond here instead.
ReplyDeleteIn his infantile post he intimates that he has the ear of Henry Brandon - I am of the opinion that HB is/are criminal lawyer/s; does this give an indication as to what the Ed's proclivities are? I am aware that he is impressionable and can be easily swayed in his thinking (no matter how flawed a particular idea may be), but that is ridiculous. Surely he doesn't move in criminal circles; does he?
To counter Hammersfan's blog above with "… this guy is sick in the head …" is pretty weak if you ask me. I would have thought that he might have been able to come up with something more intelligent than that - obviously not. He even tried to suggest that it is not him but his nine year old son who comes on this particular site - LOL. In that alone he insults the intelligence of his (now diminishing) readers. It really has turned me off as I see it as mere childishness on his part.
I've kept an open mind on much of this but now it's fairly clear that he and his mates (some refer to them as a Klan) do not like nor can handle a debate where a rational and well put view usurps their own. In recent weeks such debates have virtually disappeared and so, as far as I can see, the observation that the thing is dying is entirely correct. After a good couple of years, I certainly do not feel like posting anymore and I find myself going to the site less and less.
Interestingly someone took that German dope to task the other day and we haven't seen or heard of him since. If he returns he'll find he is increasingly in the appropriate company for his style.
As a sometimes poster (up until now anyway) on that forum, I think that probably I wont do it again. I just don't feel driven and much of the drivel that is written incites me not in the slightest. Who wants to know if one group of thugs "own" another group or not? God, save me!
One redeeming feature I do note is that someone on there is now handing out arithmetic lessons.
If I register a 'handle' on here, should I use a 'new' one or come on as my old identity and risk dragging this site down by attracting more of the unintelligent abuse fools from the other site no doubt will hurl?
For now, call me Anagallis Rouge - TSHHTSHT
Arithmetic lessons! Someone ought to get on there with some more spelling lessons - that Wrighty guy is atrocious - how can he hold down a job with spelling skills such as those that he has? If he hasn't been already, I guess he'll be found out soon enough. ;-) Cheers, Mongoose.
ReplyDeleteCrikey Anagallis, that was some post. Do register under your old handle mate, so what if it invites abuse, I can take it down if need be. I'm not sure what you are talking about exactly as I haven't checked out what is being said on the Org but I will do and then get back to you. Thanks for the contribution.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm Anagallis. It seems the Ed might now be writing letters to another editor! I haven't heard anything from News Now about this or any other post. I think mine is a tongue in cheek observation on what is actually happening over there so can't see grounds for a complaint personally. The "German" has returned to give his usual insightful view which includes a reference to him threatening to beat me up should I turn up at the Portsmouth game. That will not get him banned of course, using the Org to threaten violence against West Ham fans is perfectly acceptable, as is obscene racism. The "German" infamously praised Hitler for the Final Solution on the site (after I had expressed concern about antisemitic comments in relation to Tottenham) and still wasn't banned. Mind you, if he had the courage to operate under his real name, he would be arrested in Germany for that!
ReplyDeleteI don't post on there as much anymore. I've got a sense of fair play and I like a bit of intelligent banter and a laugh. Taking these aspects out makes it dull and repetetive. I personally find some of the back-slapping a bit nauseating. I also felt that some user/users have been barred for being too good at debating for their own good. Thats my honest opinion, no crap. Without DelMonte the site struggles as he's the only one who posts something a bit more thought provoking than the usual 'Is Boa Morte Crap?' or 'What do you think Saturdays team should be?' etc. Zzzzz.... I still chip in now and again. Why don't you start your own forum properly. This system is ok but a bit clunky imho. Whats that old saying "if you can't join em, beat em?"
ReplyDeleteI aim to at some point Den if the Org doesn't pick up. It might seem odd but I genuinely would like to see it back to its best but I fear that will only happen if Neville is brave enough to take on the clique, Klan, call them what you will, who bully others who try to participate. Del is the heart beat of the site, others who no longer figure were the pulse and adrenaline. Maybe a campaign to let back Marty at least? This site can sit alongside the Org, one clunky and open to all, the other smoother and for West Ham fans only. If it was less mordant, I would happily endorse it and link it on here. But not in its present state!
ReplyDeleteMust be fair to the German, he wasn't talking about the Pompey business, I only read the opening line of his reply and misread it. Apologies.
ReplyDeleteMyself (Hotshot), Fanno, Dutchammer, Delmonte, Barkingmad... were the contributers that made the site interesting by provoking thought, debate an at times just having a laugh... get rid of them and what do you have? - a banal backward racist site (I mean I saw a post on there recently bigging up the ICF.....)
ReplyDeleteHotshot C
You still look in? Check out the comments on this site under Zola's best team. They are still insisting we are all one and the same! Surely it's time for you to log back on mate and stir the bee hive. It aint hard to get under the radar is it? I'm still on there making the occasional contribution. They seek him here, they seek him there. LOL
ReplyDeleteWhy do you want me back on there Fanno? Do you think I like talking to a bunch of racist retards? LOL What I find quite extraordinary is the post from Phil the T saying that all the posters revealed by Nixon of Dock Green to be you, are posting on your blog, so you're just talking to yourself! It doesn't seem to occur to him that perhaps the Ed. might be telling porkies!
ReplyDeleteLOL They still haven't located the Fanno plant on there! Loads of wrong calls and talking to Fanno from time to time whilst they are doing it! How about a match report based on what you saw from that box Marty? Drop me an email about your great day out at the Boleyn! Well done to the lads for giving your boy a show to remember - it was seven visits as a kid before I saw West Ham win!
ReplyDeleteI've just noticed that Phil The Tinkler has claimed on the Org that everybody contributing on here is an alter ego of Fanno! That makes Phil Fanno! Dear God, ban him Neville! Phil the Tinkler is a Fanno plant! The mole has exposed himself! Phil, you should be ashamed, pretending to be somebody you are not! You and me are one in the same and I, for one, never even knew it! Amazing! But then posting on here and then cosying up to the Klan by criticising this site is a wee bit two faced in itself isn't it mate?
