Let Tottenham Keep Their Overpriced Rubbish!

It is probably just paper talk, but we are being linked with a bid for dos Santos. The question is, do we want him, if Tottenham are prepared to sell that is? Is Zola getting a bit carried away with this kindergarten team malarkey? At this rate there will be a nappy changing station installed in the Upton Park dressing room.

Hansen once famously opined, "You win nothing with kids" only for Becks and co to ram his words back down his throat. But they were a very special brood indeed and, as good as Tomkins, Noble, Stanislas and Collison look, I have seen nothing yet to suggest that, without experienced recruitments to play alongside them, they can carry the team towards the promised land of the Top 4. We have invested in the future in buying Savio, I would now like to see us building up the squad with a few players who we KNOW can perform in the Prem, rather than buy in hope.

dos Santos is, I suspect, one of those players who flatter to deceive. He may be a very good player one day but, at the moment, he is, at best, the icing on the cake, and maybe only the cherry on the top of that icing. We need to thicken up the cake mix itself before we worry about the incidental ornamentation.

And if he is considering a bid, Zola would do well to check out the history of players we have bought from Tottenham. They are not in the habit of handing us presents, but they do have a good track record of dressing up their rubbish to make it look tempting. My recommendation to Zola would be to give Giovanni the once over, then look elsewhere!

  1. Fuck me you're obsessed with Spurs aren't you?

Then you'll wonder why people say Spam fans are obsessed with Spurs. Nothing must be going on down at the knackers yard that is Upton Park.

  2. Its rubbish, Duxbury have said we wont deal with tottenham.
Zola said, Post - Stoke, its good to have the experience. I was worried about him only buying kids at first but we will only go for, i think 4 new players. All over the age of 21. Savio was a rush buy and is a long term project for Zola.

I wouldn't be worried. Trust me, you will be pleasantly suprised with our transfer dealings!

& anonymous can shut it! if he wern't so obssesed with West Ham he wouldn't be here, so jog on son!

  3. I'm sure Zola will listen to your recommendation to give him the once over as your opinion is clearly of utmost importance.

  4. I actually thought this was Spurs blog with the amount of columns I've read about Spurs.

As for Dos Santos, hopefully he goes nowhere. If he does leave it should be for the French or Spanish league and hopefully just for a season long loan.

  5. after reading this site's "new" a few times and agreeing with the majority of people that say it is utter b0ll0ck5!!
You say players we've had from tottenham haven't been good (in a nut shell) - So Zamora firing us back into the Premiership and i beleive he was set up by Etherington.... that was bad was it!? Sure they have since moved on, but that is because we as a club have moved on to bigger things. As for Dos Santos - i for one would love to see the little Mexican strut his stuff in our kit. He's the type of play we need - flair, pace, creativty, youth... if you'd ever seen him play for Barcelona, you'd know what i mean. He just needs a chance to settle in to a team and grow accustomed (not sure on spelling) to the english game. He could be a similar player to Zola himself - (short, with a lot of flair!)

rant over (nearly) - (and don't give up your day job ED - this site is pointless and annoying - but seeing as it comes up in Newsnow, i can't help but reading i)

  6. The trouble is that as West Ham are a small club they wont get much response in the way of hits on here.

So these "clever pricks" on here keep putting Spurs/Tottenham in their headlines as they know full well that it will come up on NewsNow Spurs, and that they will get lot's of Spurs fans responding to their ill informed drivel.

It surely cant be to long now before we get another, "Spurs are a small club" etc article, we haven't had one for a week or so now.

  7. LOL @ Paul, Why are spurs fans reading and posting on this page? I wonder could it be because once again a West Spam article involves Tottenham, and come up on the Spurs NewsNow Page? I think I speak for most Spurs fans when I say I have no feelings at all towards West Ham, your just not on our radar, were looking up at the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal, what West Ham do doesn’t bother us, unless that is we want to buy one of your youth players. I know you guys hate us, ive no idea why though?

  8. Giovani dos sontos will be a decent player, wanting to playing in europe - he's never going to get that at tottenham so it might be best if he came to us!
    Zola knows what hes doing.

  9. the only place dos santos should be next season is spurs or out on loan...he has scored 4 goals on 8 appearences for ipswich while on loan, and has all the ingrediants to be top class player. wet spam can carry on their recent tradition of buying clapped out injury riddled players on silly wages that have nearly bankrupted the club!...when are your accounts being published by the way? i could do with a good laugh.

Oh look another Pikey trying unsuccessfully to be funny, Giovani Dos Santos scored a lovely goal for Spurs in the UEFA Cup, just a few weeks ago Doohhhh.

Nice to see that you are so well informed on football matters though.

How did West Ham's last European adventure go then, Oh yes that's right you got thrashed 4 - 0 in the first qualifying round by Palermo. LOL

  12. Tottenham fans are always talking about the past. The future is West Ham are going to be a big team - and tottenham are going to be a mid table team, hopefully getting relegated. Just go to a Tottenham website and write things about us - stop using ours!

Who is Tottenhams best player - Defoe? Where did he start his career?

Defoe started his career at Charlton, and our point is ???

But being a typical thick ill informed West Ham fan, you actually thought that Defoe started his career at West Ham LOL.

  14. defoe?...i think he is class, and like rio, lampard, cole, carrick etc he knew he had to leave the knackers yard.....as for our best player this season...probably modric, the one who made west ham look so silly! can you imagine modric signing for west ham LOL...you will sign clapped out old del boy models or overpriced german shite!

  15. The guy who writes this garbage just looks for a response from anybody from anyteam. As a hammers fan most of the rubbish he types is embarrasing and i wish he would just stick to west ham matters rather than slagging down other teams just for a response. Dos Santos is hardly rubbish as this idot makes him out to be. He is a young skillful player learning the game like savio is for us. My Ipswich mate who holds a season ticket said he was head and shoulders their best player for the last 3 games. If west ham signed him i would be very happy but as Duxbury said no business between the clubs it is hugely unlikely. Hammersfan you are a total plank.

  16. We all know that we dont have a lot financially, unlike Tottenham. But we have the best academy in the world. We've got collison, sears, tomkins, savio, hines, stanislas and more all coming through.

This is a serious question, who has came through Tottenhams 'academy'?
Or is all they do is buy someone, sell them for less, then buy them back for even more?

  29. West Ham are a small club, no history 4 trophies ffs LOL, no money and a small fan base a crowd of 10,055 this season LOL, Spurs got nearly 20,000 for a Youth Cup game earlier this season, the very next night after we had played Boro in a Premiership match.

Oh and Spurs actually win trophies now and again 17 of them in fact.

West Ham 29 years and counting, without a trophy LOL.

Like most Spurs fans I couldn't give a flying monkeys about West Ham, but you HAVE to write stuff about us, encouraging the minority into another 'my club is bigger than...' debate. Hell, what am I saying, it's not a debate...such arguments are far too petty to be considered a debate. Concentrate your energies into supporting your club and we'll do the same, cheers and fcuk off!

    ReplyDelete
  38. LOL You Cockyfools! The article is a West Ham article, it is about whether or not we would want dos Santos. I can't help it that you lot bought him at an inflated price. If he was still a Barcelona player my headline would probably read, "Do we want the Barcelona Wonderkid?" The problem with Tottenham is you buy in wonderkids then ship them out as detritus. Lesson? If you are an exciting young player, don't join Tottenham! Look at dos Santos, Taarbt (how ever he spells it), Bale, the Welsh right back, the Manc on loan, Paul Allen, Defoe (he had to leave and come back!) and I could go on! If you are a kid, don't sign for Tottenham as a schoolboy whatever you do - unless your dream is to play in the lower divisions!!!

  45. I think the question is, will Dos Santos want to move to West Ham? Will Spurs want to sell Spurs to West Ham? Dos Santos is not rubbish, you can ask any Ipswich supporter for their opinions. Why is there so much hate between Spurs and West Ham? In the past, we have always done deals etc... and as deluded as Spurs fans are, they are still a far superior team compared to West Ham. Can you name one first team player in West Ham player that can replace a first team Spurs player? The answer is probably NO.

    ReplyDelete
  46. 19:30,LISTEN MY DELUDED PEDEGREE CHUM west ham are not broke how can we be broke if we paid 9mill for savio!?!?the club is finacialy secure it is the owner who is BROKE NOT THE CLUB!!!if we are broke then how come we havent had a 10point deduction!?!?it is not the CLUBS accounts that are in question but the owners accounts you toby jug,if we cannot find a buyer then the icelandic banks will take us over because they lent the owner the money.I think you are a secret hammer more than a spud you know it all muppet!

  48. 20:14,far superior? dont make me laugh.if you was "far superior" how come you could only just about beat a mixture of reserves and youth team 1-0 at your stinky cat litter tray of a ground? and as for "Can you name one first team player in West Ham player that can replace a first team Spuds player" YES,green is a much better keeper than opps i flapped again gomes, upson is better than chicken wing and woodgate put together, parker is better than jenas shall i go on muppets?

    ReplyDelete
  49. How can you say Green is better than Gomes? Upson is a good player, but honestly is he really better than Woodgate or King? Parker is the only one I really rate, but is injury prone. There is really no point in being a dick in your post. As I have said before I have nothing against West Ham and I hope you guys do well but anybody who isn't a West Ham fan will probably say the same thing I have said. West Ham is a decent team that do have a good future but in terms of squad depth, quality of players, recent trophy accomplishments, Spurs are better.

    ReplyDelete
  50. 20:58,spuds are not better! the league table dosent lie you finish last season below us and will prolly finish this season below us
green is better than gomes and upson is better than woodgate you only have to ask the england manager for that one,any other fans of other clubs will say the same because of your delusion and arrogance towards other fans which will prolly make you scumbags the most hated fans in the land.

    ReplyDelete
  51. The trouble with Sp*rs is that they think the solution to being shit is to throw money around like its going out of fashion. They buy in talented young players and just turn them into crap e.g. Giovanni, Bentley, Robinson, Reid, Jenas etc.

They are too blinded by their own sense of self importance to realise that you need to spend money on coaching, development and other backroom infrastructure; apart from their big money signings and their yearly ‘big name’ manager.

This lack of coaching consistency / quality explains why their imaginary youth system has produced fuck all since Sol Campbell, their best ever player.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I guess there is just no point arguing. If Fulham finishes above West Ham this year does that mean that Fulham is better than West Ham? West Ham performed above expectations this year whereas Spurs underperformed for the last two. And stop with this 'delusion and arrogance' nonsense. I have been level headed with my arguments and not ALL Spurs fans had high expectations at the start of the season.

    ReplyDelete
  53. 21:29,"This lack of coaching consistency / quality explains why their imaginary youth system has produced fuck all since Sol Campbell, their best ever player".

Who realised he was playing for the shit side of north london and quickly moved to the bigger and more respected side of north london
which the spuds will never stop being jealous of.

    ReplyDelete
  54. 20:09 you thick plank, its the clubs accounts in question not the owners! deloitte dont give a fuck about your owner, they are the financial auditors in the prem and your accounts have had 2 extensions already and were due months ago...you must be a boy.......20:42, 4 major trophies in your entire history...enough said.

    ReplyDelete
  55. 21:29...oh how jelous do you sound about our money ! lol....not our fault we have £££££££££££££££££££...while west ham are fucked and about to be taken over by icelandic banks!

    ReplyDelete
  56. 21:29. You have a point but tell me what did ManU produce since Flecter. What did Chelsea produce since Terry? What did Liverpool produce since Gerrard and Carragher? The reason why West Ham produce in youth is because they do not have the financial backing to buy players. Spurs (outside the top 4 and Man City) are the richest clubs and can do this. We had tried to buy players like the big boys but had the wrong strategy identifying and buying players. Hopefully things will change now and we will see how it goes.

  60. Why do Tottenham fans bother to respond to West Ham fans. They know they are a little club in East London and they have 2 targets - ending above Tottenham (their big club neighbours) and winding up their fans. Just think for a moment what it must be like supporting them. I feel very sorry for them - they deserve everyone's sympathy. Taking the micky out of West Ham is no fun any more cos they take things so seriously.

  63. As a West Ham fan, i can painfully admit that i believe Tottenham are slightly better than us at playing football. However, attitudes to injuries - West ham have the patience of saints which tottenham seem to lack (Terry Dixon). youth system - West Ham educate teens about football and maintain good discipline. Money well spent - West Ham make better use of the little money available to us i'd say, yes Modric was a good buy, but Defoe and Keane i feel were bad decisions. Attitudes to rivalry - yes our rivalry is pathetic, however Tottenham fans overestimate their stature. Just as Tottenham 'don't care' about Hammers, Arsenal don't care about Tottenham. Think rationally please, West Ham and Tottenham are in the same ball park. Expectation wise - West Ham are currently doing better. Seems to me like July 1st and next season couldn't come quicker for some fans!

Feeder club, really. Get over yourselves.

As for stability, I'm with the Financial Times: "However, the club’s long-term ownership remains uncertain as talks between Straumur, the failed Icelandic bank, and creditors continue...The banking group, which enjoys moratorium protection until the end of May, is in talks about how best to operate West Ham – along with other assets – as a going concern from the end of the season." (April 17th)

Shame, really. Always liked the Irons' fans - "Handball" at the Lane was brilliant, especially when we eventually got to sing it back to you.

Also looks like we won't be propping up your balance sheet every other year by buying both of your better players for much longer. Charlton provides you with a chilling example. Relegation next season, League 1 the year after.

    We'll miss you.

  68. The fact that some Tottenham fans think were in a dire financial state can only work against them as we currently lie a point ahead of them and they spent how much in the transfer market??!!?!?! I think a noticable difference between the clubs is that people such as David Bentley wouldn't be allowed to be labelled as a 'failure' at West Ham, simply because we would want to justify the money spent, and not merely discard him at the earliest oppurtunity. As for this feeder club business what player have you taken from us in the past, say, three four years. Those who argue that no West ham player would get into the Tottenham squad perhaps emphasises the idea that Tottenham are appealing on paper and not pitch (excuse the plosives!)

  70. The constant one-upmanship between Hammers and Spurs fans reminds me of two thirteen year old boys arguing about who has the bigger willie, whilst a mature woman watches with a smile that says "you've both got some growing to do before you get into my bed". The fact of the matter is that we are both in the second tier of premiership clubs.

Rivalry is an important ingredient in competitive sport, but the ability to feel hatred with the same passion as to feel love is perhaps a sad reflection on modern society. The inability of the majority of posters to convey that passion without aggression, racism or crimes against the English language speaks volumes.
