Should We Tell Green To Get Stuffed?
Apparently Green has turned down our latest contract offer. It's not that he wants to leave as such, just that he doesn't think we are offering him enough money. Now, let's be fair to the lad, coming up through the ranks of Norwich City, he probably has a very clear understanding of high finance. Negotiations back then probably took the form of heated debate over fringe benefits: "I want what the rest of the team are getting, a weekly ride on the back of a tractor, a personal sheep and a flavoured condom to chew on as I come out onto the pitch." (Old habits die hard!)
He doesn't strike you as the Flash Harry type does he? Green in an Armani suit and Italian shoes? I reckon dungarees and wellies would suit him better. Green in a Porsche? Surely he would be more at home in the cabin of a vibrating tractor.
So what in God's name would the guy do with the £50,000 a week he is reputably demanding? Surely £35k is enough to keep him in good looking sheep for the rest of his life?
Somebody should have a word in his shell like and point out that the fans face hard times in a recession and the fans pay his wages. £35,000 a week to stand between the sticks and make maybe as many as five saves in a game? Nice work if you can get it if you ask me! He has two years left on his current deal and we are offering a £10k a week pay rise - that is an extra £1m that he would not be entitled to if we said see out your contract. Lucash Neill is on more because, as an outfield player, his playing career will be shorter. Green can expect to play until he is 36 and £35,000 a week for 7 years would set him up very nicely indeed. According to my calculator, that is £127,400,000 before sponsorships. Come on Greenie you can buy a whole farm for that!
you should get stuffed. moron.
ReplyDeleteStill here? Have you ever gone away. Watch the final mate, all this time on the internet will make you go blind! And sprain your wrist!
ReplyDeleteyou need to get a new calculator if he's going to earn £127.4m!
ReplyDeleteHow is the Elfrather Mill Golf Club these days?
ReplyDeletenice course that
ReplyDeleteI understand the resident pro isn't much cop though.
ReplyDeleteoh er I detect a little sarcasm
ReplyDeleteSarcasm?
ReplyDeleteNo we shouldn't. Would you do your job on lower wages than everyone else even though you're one of the best / hardest working at your company? It's his career - he's got every right to want parity as long as he's not asking for anything excessive.
ReplyDeleteAnd people do stop arguing behind computer screens and claiming you'll 'have each other' - I thought people stopped that after 14. Noone is gonna do anything about internet banter - so do be quiet.
Also Hammersfan you usually try to give off the impression you're above all that - not recently! Don't let the site slip into the depths of internet displays of bravado that are cowardly and pointless. Please?
ReplyDeletethis site is a joke. yeah green mite only have 2 make 5 saves a game bt we have players like deano, dyer on double the money green is on and dont play more than 10 games a season between em!and green plays vertually every game and is our most consistant player!
ReplyDeleteZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
ReplyDeleteNot being funny but Green got you a lot of points with his saves last season and such should be on the same wages as the top earners in your squad. He is earning less than the likes of your Kieron Dyer's et al who get paid to be sat in the treatment room
ReplyDeleteGreen should be getting more than anyone else for he is one of west hams best players and he is the best player in the world. He is too under rated and he is the best keeper in the world!
ReplyDeleteend of descion
How is Jo?
ReplyDeleteI think you'll find that Greeno is from Chertsey not Norwich, seems like that not the only thing you got wrong. If you really want to find the people taking the afternoon off to shag the sister, you need to go futher north into the fenland area, say Lincoln or wisbeach. That's where it all goes on.
ReplyDeleteI know he is from Chertsey mate but he was brought through the ranks of Norwich. You can take the Chertsey out of the man but you can't save the sheep from the...
ReplyDeletegreen must stay give the man £50g a week
ReplyDeleteYou call yourself a Hammers fan !!. You more like are a self-opinionated pratt.
ReplyDeleteThis was bound to happen. Last year he was turned down flat when he asked for a new contract when he found the club had put Deano and others on £55k per week contracts. Deano's been out all season injured and Greenie has played every game yet gets less than half that. On this basis Green is worth the same but is that the going rate for a keeper? I doubt it.
ReplyDeleteBillbanksy
Flappers mate, can't post your submission with the f and c words. Want to resubmit without them? This isn't the org mate.
ReplyDeleteHows the job hunting going? Sorted yet? Hope so.
This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ReplyDeleteOh dear Flappers. Try to be pleasant to somebody and...
ReplyDeleteSo, how's the job hunting going?
You do make me smile
ReplyDeleteIt would appear that fanno is still rearing his ugly head, but this time under the username of Tom Hanks. Now I've been browsing through his grotty little blog site which I found quite hilarious and found in one of his comments in which he slated off the org, he used the term The Klan which is something that I have read on here before now and he refers to them as the gang of four, so who are these people supposed to be anyway? I presume that one them is supposed to be Nev, can anyone help me with this little mystery?
OK guys, it was a laugh. I'll stop talking to myself. It's just when I slipped up on the org and used the Blunderland nickname, I thought I should come clean. Question is, how many orgsters will visit here and spot the ruse? ; }
ReplyDeleteKan you name the Klan for me though hammersfan, I'm intrigued?
ReplyDeletepeek-a-boo flappers
But which one am I? LOL I can post as anonymous too you know. How's Guildford University? LOL Fanno is everywhere!

Fanno is everywhere...LOL
And Tony, I'm sure I wouldn't enjoy the initiation given your track record - not adverse to the slap as well as the tickle from what I hear. But still, thanks for agreeing to me joining the Klan!
ReplyDeletePeek-a-boo Flappers.
Ever been mugged? LOL
LOL You forgot me Wrighty!
ReplyDeletePeek-a-boo Flappers.
Ever been mugged Wrighty mate? I shouldn't call you mate because...LOL
Didn't you see the clues guys? LOL
I aint taking a job on the minimum wage! LOL
What about the crocodile clips Tony? Big enough clue given the the crocodile post that triggered Fanno's "departure". LOL
ReplyDeleteWhos Tony?
ReplyDeleteA golfing pro for a widdling little club in Germany. His partner is called Jo.
ReplyDeleteAnd Wrighty, thanks for counting me as part of the family.
ReplyDeletePeek-a-boo Flappers
I told you I would come out with a bang mate. Now admit it, you were taken in! Amazed a clever guy like you didn't get it from the forum title and re-igniting the debate about Fanno and the Klan! LOL And I was sure you would pick up on the Blunderland slip! I was so careful not to use my nicknames as Flappers. I thought you had got the Fanny Flappers link too!
Disappointed mate, disappointed LOL
But I still won't work for the minimum wage! LOL
Where do I get off Wrighty? Usually at Upton Park. Turn right. Stop at the chippy, stroll down to the ground...all on unmeployment benefit LOL
ReplyDeleteMugged mate, mugged! But I will keepdenying it. Don't ban Flappers Nev! It aint true! Honest! LOL
I feel such a fool Wrighty, I'll feed the troll no longer LOL
ReplyDeleteIt's hard enough feeding a family on unemployment benefit, never mind a troll!
LOL
Still dont know who Tony is? Yu must have got mistaken for a nother person beginning with T, Trevor Tomas? Which one?
ReplyDeleteA golf pro whose talent is very much in the mould of Curbs I believe - mediocre at best - more like a lower level also ran. More suited to small time driving range instruction. Most uninspiring he is - unless of course when he begins to express himself through threats of violence - it is then that he stands out.
ReplyDeleteyou idiot.
ReplyDeleteGreen has been awesome for us the past few seasons.
why the need to get personal about someone. I bet you don't even know where Norwich is, you nob
give it up. get a real job.
Green signed a 5 year contract 2 years ago for around £25k pw and went public in The Sun last year, saying he felt the club didn't value him when so many players were on over twice what he'd signed for.
ReplyDeleteThat was when Ljungberg, Parker, Dyer, Neill, LBM, Deano, Upson etc were all reportedly on around £55k pw and yet most of them were either playing crap or injured.
Scot Duxbury slapped Green down publicly and said he would review the situation this close season but the day of reckoning has arrived. If we pay Green £55k pw I guess Upson will want a rise for more than that as he came as a Championship player and is now an England regular and his contract is running down. Neill won't reduce his pay demands for his new contract negotiations and Carlton Cole might want to renegotiate his 5 year deal. Perhaps Behrami, Collins, Collison, Nobes and Ilunga then might think they have poor deals with all their £55k pw team-mates and so they demand parity. And so it goes on. If anyone thinks we should just give Green the cash it ain't that simple as we don't have to face the fall-out. I don't envy Duxbury, Nani and Zola trying to sort all this out but there is no doubt in my mind that if Green, Upson, Parker, LBM, Dyer, Deano and Neill are all put on £55k so should Cole, Behrami, Nobes, Collison and Ilunga. That's 12 of our first team on £55k pw - total£660,000 every week or £35m a year without considering Gabbidon, Davenport, Spector, Sears, Stanislas, Collins, any loan signings and all the other juniors and reserves plus Zola and Clarke, Keen and the other coaches, the medical team and Nani and so on and so on. One huge wage bill again. Maybe it is better to accept that we cannot compete for the top salaries and we let players move on in the way Wigan do. If we don't control this carefully we are going to be back in the sh1te again.
What a load of bull. That's like saying that everyone in HammerLand is a knife wielding teenage stabbing murderer
ReplyDeleteHe's such a quick witted chap isn't he this Hammersfan, I read an article I actually found to be good reading here the other day, surprise surprise it wasn't this sensationalist never has been that wrote them.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the day job?
MrAnon!
1316, I work as a freelance journalist.
ReplyDeletene1 else noticed that his maths is a zero out every time. Its an extra 100K for 2 years and 12,740,000 over 7 years, so shut up and buy a calculator that works
ReplyDeletethis is such a ridiculous article, green is arguably the highest rated player and in our team and you're saying to stuff him!? fucking ridiculous, him, upson, parker are the spine to our team and we need to keep these three fit, and playing well to stand any chance of europe, think if green wasnt fit last year, we would have had latsukva or watever his name is, he was shit, so without green we'd have to interest an international keeper to take his place, any takers for west ham!? didnt think so
ReplyDelete1358, you need a calculator mate. Pay somebody an extra £10,000 PER WEEK, and they have earned an extra £100,000 in just 10 weeks haven't they? In 52 weeks, that person has earned 52 x £10,000. That is £520,000. Pay that for 2 years and it is an extra £1,040,000. I did all that without a calculator mate!
ReplyDelete"Should we tell green to get stuffed?"
ReplyDeleteNO. Not on the basis of tabloid speculation we shouldn't. How do you know he's even rejected a contract?
Anyway, if it were true, then we should offer him as much money as the likes of Dyer and Parker at the very least, especially since he's played more game this season than the 2 of them combined and had more impact on our success this season.
Tell him to get stuffed? idiot.
I'm not sure you should be quite so offensive about people from Norfolk re: sheep and tractors. As for the "alternative" chewing gum... we'll I've never heard that before! What a weirdo you are!
ReplyDeleteRobert Green - Flash Harry - never!! He certainly wasn't when he was at Norwich, and he was certainly no different the last time I saw him, although the thought of him in an Armarni suit....mmmmm, YES PLEASE!!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, the football side of things, Greeno is a fantastic, consistant keeper (always has been), and worth every single penny he's asking for, as far as I'm concerned....(yes I am a fan - ever since I see him playing for Norwich reserves, I was gutted that he left us!)
Just a thought how much is Ben 'I don't play many games a season but still get play for England over Robert Green' Foster on a week, or Chris 'I'm always injured but still get to play for England over Robert Green' Kirkland for that matter?? I bet it's more than Greeno!!
He should be England No1...I'm hoping on 10th June that I'm crying with happiness that I'm there to see him play at Wembley for his country, rather than tears of frustration that he's on the bench or tears of anger that he's not even made it to the bench.
