Tevez Returning to Upton Park?

What are the chances that Tevez would ever return to West Ham? I felt that it was quite high a few weeks ago as I first read about him wanting to leave Man United but press speculation seemed to point towards him joining Real Madrid. A week or two ago he was very strongly linked to Real Madrid again when he was interviewed by Spanish journalists. He said he would like to play in Spain but his wording left me in no doubt that he meant at a much later date.

What raised my hopes then was that he intimated that his family wanted to stay in England. Today I saw the BBC report which raised my hopes yet again with the following -

"I don't think I'll be a United player next season. I've done everything I possibly can but they have never made me an offer or given me a contract. I have not been treated as a member of the (Man U) family. The fans treat me like family but United have not signed me so they don't respect me as a footballer. It's not true my family are unhappy in England. It's not true I want to leave England for Spain. My four-year-old daughter is learning English and my wife is very happy living in England. We want to stay. I want to play in England because it is the best League in the world and it suits my style.”

Tevez was visibly moved by the reception he got from us when he played at Upton Park this season. He played diabolically for Man U in fact due to that outward show of affection from us West ham fans. Add to that the fact that in a World Cup year Tevez needs to be a first team regular to be sure of his Argentina place. That cuts out a move to Liverpool where he would have to compete for a place as second striker and is almost certain to be in the same kind of position he is now as at Man United.
Arsenal and Chelsea are likely to have the same issues where competition for that second striker spot is really hot.

How about Everton, Spurs, Man Citeh or Villa? Well Everton has a shortage of strikers but play a 4-5-1 without a second striker. Spurs, Citeh and Villa don't have a shortage of strikers and he would have competition again. Tevez would also be committing a cardinal sin if he moved across Manchester to money-bags Citeh so out of the Premiership teams it seems to me that it is down to us if regular football is the objective!

Tevez's agent Kia Joorabchian works for us as our transfer consultant so I would be very surprised if it hasn't even been discussed as to how we could bring Tevez back even if it is on loan again? Hopefully this time Duxbury might get the paperwork right if it is true! None of the football journalists has made any connection to West Ham being a possible destination for Tevez but one of the strongest pulls is always the emotional one. He knows he is loved and revered at West Ham. He knows Zola is a good manager well versed in playing and coaching the second striker role which both of them excel at. He knows he would have Ashton or Cole, two England squad forwards, to play off. And he knows he would have regular football at a time he needs that to retain his Argentina place. He will also know that our thrust towards a Europa League spot has been hampered by a striker shortage yet we still might make it. 7th spot would certainly help our cause.

The only downside is our financial state. I cannot see Straumur putting money into us if they do take us over so how could we afford him? I am sure that if there is a will there is a way. Maybe it's an impossible dream but I remember waking up one morning 3 years ago to the amazement that he had signed for us first time round. We can dream some more surely?

  1. no chance whatsoever. pointless post.

  2. Not that Tevez would go to a club outside the top 4 but if he did, he would definitely be 1st choice at Villa, ManC, Everton, Spurs etc. As others said, pointless post, he wouldn't go to a club not in CL, never mind not in UEFA Cup.

  3. Did you expect him to join the first time?

  4. How can "No chance whatsoever" be a pointless post. It is an honest opinion!

    I agree for several reasons:

He wants to win major honours and he won't do that at West Ham for a while.

Where will WH get £30M from as 3rd party agreements are no longer an option?

Tevez can go to bigger clubs than WH. He has an affection for us but thats it.

We probably couldn't afford his wages.

Is this a proper response or pointless remarks?

  5. the fa have changed the rules so loans from a thrid party owned players are no longer allowed. unluckly you will be selling players not buying so look forward to a relegation scrap next season

  6. i like the way you have made all these connections a possibility!

at the current state of the club i think we have more of a chance getting a hand job from the pope! but like yourself i am not ruling it out, we could get a new multi billionaire owner and we could get tevez for a proper price. who would of thought that man city would buy Robinho? noone did, but its a funny ol game. if we qualified for europa league and got new owners with a few bob, west ham would be a very attractive club to go to next season. but we'll wait and see

keep a close eye on this post

  7. That's a fine reply Trevor mate, it explains your views. I agree as it happens. I didn't write the article but I recognise that others have different opinions from my own. I do not feel the need to comment on the worth of a post, I prefer to either address the argument or keep quiet if I have nothing worthwhile to say. On this topic, I am happy for others to express their views. I would love to see him return to UP but sadly I don't think it will happen. That doesn't make the original article pointless.

  8. Well said Adam! Keep the faith mate! We will keep blowing bubbles, if admittedly more in hope than expectation! I don't think it will happen but that doesn't stop me dreaming!

  9. This just makes me start dreaming about what life would be with Tevez back.
This just makes me realy sad when i wake up because i find out its not true.
Football is a funny game though and anything can happen, so we can always dream.
I just wish that one morning i wake up in the summer and i find out that Tevez has signed, possibly the best day of my life?
The new owners only have to come in and make one signing, Tevez. All the fans will love them forever, they wouldnt even have to sign anyone else.

We need two wins to get 7th place now,
    CMYI!!!!!

  10. I dont see this as a pointless post.. it's only because some of use are spurs and villa fans and you think you can sign anyone and west ham sign no one. there is no chance Tevez is going to come back to west ham in the near future we all know this however we can all dream lol.. And just because we have had a world class player in our team unlike all your second rate players.

  12. I think its a one in a million chance. We would have to be taken over by someone very rich, very quickly. Personally, as things stand I think he would be most likely to go somewhere like Madrid. If he does decide to stay in England I can see Arsenal as a possible destination - Champions League football is a major draw and Arsenal have the resources to afford him. I don't think Villa have the money or Everton either. Spurs is (unfortunately) a definite possiblity. They have money and a manager who talks a good game to prospective signings. Personally, if Man City make a bid I think he will go there. Money talks so Man City can SHOUT. Offer him 150k/week and he'll go there, 'cardinal sin' or not. Sorry, but I just can't see Tev coming back, much as I'd love him to. The buzz of seeing a genuine World Class player with a World Class attitude trot out at Upton Park in the claret n' blue was one of the most exciting things I can remember as an Irons fan but its a very long shot.

  13. Your posts are starting to annoy me mate. We do not live in a fantasy football world. Your an embarrassment other west ham fans. Get these posts off of newsnow!!

  14. I read the first few comments and it surprises me slightly. I mean, we are all dreaming if we think Tevez would ever come back to the Boleyn ? Boring...

Something I will bring up is the loyalty shown by South American footballers to their home clubs and to the love of football they have outside of worldwide recognition, such as playing for a team in the champions leauge. Football means something more to them than just medals, they are on par with the fans. They love the game, the roots, the ball.
So. as wishful, deluded, stupid, what ever you want to call it, or think it is, I believe that Tevez returning to Upton Park isn't as an outrageous claim as it may sound...sort of ;)

Or are we really that miserable??

  16. The nice thing about a blog is that someone can talk about their opinion whether I agree or not. Those who don't like this post, don't read it. There is a wonderful little button that allows you to close the window with one click. Use it. Would I like to see Tevez back? Yes. Will it happen? Highly unlikely but dream away. I find a game of Championship Manager helps we work through these dream teams! Hammers rule!

  18. tevez cannot go on loan to another english club, the rules were changed to stop this from happening again after he moved to manure on loan. once his loan at man utd is up if he wants to stay in england it will have to be a permanent transfer.

  19. why wud he go 2 spurs ? he wouldnt disrespect us like that no theres not much chance we may aswel look elswhere 4 sum1 exciting im not suprised he wants too leave borin man u anyway lol i heard rumours about vela ( arsenal ) he looks good worth a risk maybe

  21. That's your opinion. Still finishing top for hits on News Now so many disagree. Why not start your own blog, see how well it does?

  22. To hammersfan if it's not your article why are YOU responding to people post's surely the author should be responding, and like you said if you have nothing of worth to say you'll keep quiet, and yet you tell people there comments are pointless?

    ReplyDelete
  23. obviously to busy to answer me, must be writing another spiteful masterpiece to incite fans from other clubs to get his hit rate up

    ReplyDelete
  24. LOL I can respond if I want to, just as you can! What a silly thing to say! If somebody says the article is pointless, I am entitled to respond that the comment is pointless too. Others have clearly enjoyed the article if you read some of the comments above. Why not submit an article yourself and put yourself in the firing line? Not brave enough perhaps? Nothing of value to say perhaps? Go on, give it a go.

    ReplyDelete
  25. you are so right I'm no brave enough

  26. Glad you admit it 1655. I would proof read it in advance and tidy up your English for you. You missed a t on not! ; }

  27. Look will you lot just leave hammersfan alone, he is entitled to his opinion - freedom of speech and all that, he's a talentless hack but that's not his fault.

    ReplyDelete
  28. at this moment in time you cant afford to buy his hair products lets alone a player that will cost upwards of 25mil.You hammers had your cup final few weeks back when you come to the lane and got beat

    ReplyDelete
  29. Wouldn't it be hilarious yet so typical if Tottenham bought Tevez and dropped either Keane or Defoe lol. I wouldn't rule out Man city though, i doubt they would hesitate in selling Caicedo or whoever they play up front. I do think Hammersfan is cynical about West Ham at times but f*ck it, at times we are woeful.

p.s. have you noticed that certain words circulate around football commentary for a months at a time, for example: 'emulate' & 'surplus to requirements'

    ReplyDelete
  30. blog owner approval now huh? don't want your 'fans' to see how much some of us West Ham Fans hate your guts do you? or how much you can't handle the jibes we give you back. DON"T DISH IT OUT IF YOU CAN"T TAKE IT - YOU HACK! If you don't aplogise about the comments you made about Liverpool to me, in public, in private I don't care, then you're gonna keep getting these comments from me until you acknowledge that you just can't make stupid generalizations like the ones you did, you need to seriously consider your opinions, dust them down, look at them closely, work out where you have spawned such prejudice, were these opinions passed on to you by your parents or something? I'm a Londoner west ham fan my family are Liverpudlian and I will fight for them with everything I've got - you're probably not gonna print this reply like the last ones so you know I am telling you the truth - but maybe you will have the balls to print this one without editing it - you've got me so furious mate I can't tell you. What's that statement on this blog about going to court? Would just love to see you defend your comments in court about how you slagged off, looked down on and spat on the whole of Liverpool! No human being is above another, you need some compassion, I've shown you some in earlier replies, I'm trying not to look down on you, I admit it's hard not to, but I know you'll always look down on people because you're a friggin bully, well I was bullied by my dad my whole kid life and one day when I was 18 I finally stood up to him and he crumbled - in truth all bullies are like that if you stand up to them - unfortunately standing up to a bully can turn you into a bully yourself and I can become a bit of a bully myself but only when I see injustice, someone had to stand up to Hitler they had ti use hard tactics to beat him - there's nothing that riles me more than seeing injustice and then you went and slagged off a whole city. After I left college I went to live in Liverpool for a year with my future wife, we lived in one of the poorest areas in Liverpool, Bootle. The year we lived there you wouldn't believe, it was the year Jamie Bulger was killed. Now I have never seen such poverty as I did in Bootle and such depression, the guy who lived in the flat below us was beating up his wife on a daily basis and even when we called the police the wife would protect him. Liverpudlians just like the rest of the country just like you are REAL people with REAL problems - some Scousers are great one minute, nasty the next, some whine one minute, some are cheerful and chipper, some proclaim they are the best kind of people in the country, others wouldn't dream of such arrogance - they are like everyone else in the country, beautiful, dangerous, flawed and human - just like you, just like me. I hat eto judge people when I don't fully know them, and yet we never fully know anyone, least of all ourselves. You can't judge even the nastiest of people sometimes, not completely because you don't know what path they've been down - orphan, abused e.t.c this doesn't excuse their actions if their actions are horrendous but it helps us understand them - now I've written all this with the full understanding that you're gonna check this before you print it and may not put it up, I'm trying to reach out to you, but I don't think it's ever gonna work is it?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Now that you've had to moderate you're gonna realize that you aint gonna get so many hits, coz most of the replies you got were from the people you insulted! LOL! LOL! As you would say. I feel like I've won some small battle. Silly - but you know - if one believes in a cause one should fight! Love everyone Hammersfan - not just yourself and 'sadly' a moderator would not have been necessary. Hey, I'm freelance, doing well, get to see my kids a lot, lots of free time - apologise.

  32. To our friend from Liverpool, "Calm down, calm down". But that was a "piss take" of the people of Liverpool and so was racist and so should never have been allowed on the BBC. Harry Enfield should be taken to court, not all the people from Liverpool have tight perms and mustaches and go around looking for a fight. They don't all wear patterned jumpers! Alf Garnett? How dare all West Ham fans be portrayed as racist misogynists? Johnny Speight should be exhumed and put on trial! Del Boy Trotter - all south Londoners presented as dodgy market traders - what a disgrace! Manuel in Fawty Towers? Racist garbage, arrest John Cleese, put him on trial!

I seriously think you have a chip on your shoulder mate. Your reaction is incredibly excessive. If you want to debate specific points, I am happy to do so. If all you are going to do is yell from behind your keyboard, I think I will decline discussion. Your move.

To 1103, your destructive tendency says a lot. The site will accept unmoderated comments when I am in a position to take down references to pornography and obscene racism. Sadly, with morons like these contributors, I have to protect potentially innocent readers.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh friggin 'ell, ARE YOU BLIND?

    "To our friend from Liverpool.."

I'm not FROM Liverpool, I'm from LONDON! You really don't read the comments sent back to you do you? and another thing, you are the biggest hypocrite I have ever come across on a thread!

'Sadly, with morons like these contributors, I have to protect potentially innocent readers.'

Utter hypocritical rubbish. You really have a God complex, alpha male complex, small man complex? call it whatever you like but you think I'm mad? you keep coming back with further rubbish and insults.

As for Harry Enfield, what a stupid arguement, Harry Enfield is a COMIC, Fawlty Towers is a COMEDY - YOU are not funny - YOU were being serious in your blog - and don't try and back pedal that you were just joking about the people from Liverpool - I have been there Adelphi Hotel, disgusted...blah blah e.t.c...yeah very 'ironic' comments...you fool. Decline discussion with me, that makes me more than happy - you are clearly not a rational person up for sensible discussion anyway - you call everyone else with opinions that differ from yours childish and morons and yet YOU are clearly someone who loves to have the final word, you don't get more childish than that, you would never presume that you were wrong about the things you said about the 'Pool and that is where you fall down for me as a person. Oh, just found out you got barred from westhamfans.org - and how much they dislike you over there - that's a decent blog, says a great deal about you, a great deal. It's not just me then that's taken a dislike to your foul comments. Is this why you started up your own blog? I am getting pretty sick or writing in now - must admit the whole episode has left a foul taste in my mouth. I hope I've played some small part in giving you a taste of your own medicine, one hopes you'll think twice before spewing out such prejudiced bile.

  35. 1647, you've just found out about the Mordant Org have you? Exactly as I thought. You guys are so desperately sad! Tell you what, I will carry a couple of posts from the Mordant Org with the poster's name so you can comment on the lovely guys over there and their views on the people from Liverpool. Please address the contradiction! Fool!

    ReplyDelete
  36. How about from the Reverend Aycliffe, "Best comment of the 1st half was when the commentator said that the Scousers were picking our pockets, now there's a kin surprise!" and "LOL the thieving gits even nicked the number off the back of his shirt, would have thought 3 goals was enough, no pleasing some people!!" or the Nazi's "Very moving speech bruv! Ever thought of running for Prime Minister (behind GFZ of course)!
We shall fight them on the beaches ol' son (and make off with their Giros to stiffle their summer transfer activity), and never in the field of human conflict (the scrap fer 7th), has so much been owed by so many (us bastdz in C&B), to so few (GZ, SC & the boyz)! COYChurchillianIrons"

Lovely people who hold Liverpudlians in high regard!

    ReplyDelete
  37. And 1647, I cited stepping over drunks to get into the Adelphi, you quoted the wife beater who lived in the flat beneath you! What's worse? Following your line of reasoning, you are saying all Liverpudlians are wife beaters!

    ReplyDelete
  38. this guy with the scouse wife is a bit barmey aint he.

  39. I attack any prejudiced person who leaves a comment on any blog westhamfans.org is no exception and I often do, hate the use of 'yids' and constantly pull people up on it, but you're the guy who runs this site! you should be setting an example to the kids that visit this blog - can't you see the difference you idiot? If standing up for your family fighting against prejudice is barmey then I am truly barmey - I'd rather be that any day of the week than limp wristed tory b'stard who adopts the opinions of his right wing parents because he doesn't have a brain of his own!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Ah, now we are in to more stereotypes! Are all Tories limp wristed and are they all born out of wedlock?

I haven't seen you pulling anyone up on the org for using the Y word! That was my role and I upset a lot of people by doing it. Put up a link to a comment where you have taken on the Nazi or one of the others for their antisemitism. Why didn't you defend the people of Liverpool when the Nazi and the Reverend classified them as benefit scroungers and thieves? What about your wife's honour? In fact, I thought you had only just heard about the org! Try to keep up with your own fabrications mate! You'll be forgetting that your wife is from Liverpool next!

    ReplyDelete
  41. oh Lord, the almighty, all seeing eye that is hammersfan, the man with the GOD complex didn't see me attack the anti-semetics and other prejudiced voices on a site he is supposed to loathe!? Oh, and like I didn't know you weren't gonna find out me name over there was Pembleton, wasn't exactly hard was it Sherlock - doh, I led you over there, wrapping you around my finger mate, which happens to be the index. to attack the anti-semetics that was 'your role' was it? and you say I think a lot of myself, jeez, I find that really hard to believe you have decent bone in your body, that you actually care about people but well done if you did, I won't presume your lying, I like to trust people at their word, only liars don't trust people - it seems you have a problem with trust on this site, not me. and what pray is so wrong in fighting for your wife's honour? You're a cad! I challenge you to a duel! Oh hang on, we're already in the middle of one, that looks set to drag on and on it seems, there's a film called The Duellists by Ridley Scott about two men who continually duel for years and years - revenge - my dear Hammersfan - is a dsih best served cold. perhaps over the years in our daily rants at one another a mutual appreciation will begin to grow, perhaps you should trust people a bit more, it'll be alright. don't be afraid.

    ReplyDelete
  42. oh yes and your right of course, I apologise to any offence caused to any nice Tories who don't read The Daily Mail or The Daily Hate as I like to call it, or The Daily Immigration or The Daily Paranoid - take your pick. I admit my slight bias towards the Tories, will you admit your bias to the whole of Liverpool, everyone that includes Livepudlian kids, the elderly, the disabled - and apologise to them, like I've just done to the Tories? I'd be pleasantly surprised but for some reason I'm thinking of pigs flying.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hey mate. Everyone in the South of England thinks scousers are benefit cheating, hubcap stealing idiots. You all think we are shandy drinking, soft southerner chavs. Welcome to the virtual world. We know it isn't real but some like you take it too seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  44. LOL 11.15, you've done it now!
