Are These Transfer Rumours A Smoke Screen?

Is it me, or does anybody else think that we might be being duped here? Remember the headlines last week? West Ham tie up Mancini and Jimenez! Well, if we tied them up, Mancini seems to have wriggled free and Jimenez's knots don't appear to be unpickable yet.

Then there was Balotelli. He was going to be our Inter signing number one, then number three and now...well it appears that Liverpool or Tootatthem may get in ahead of us.

Never mind, after sniffing around Fanni, there's still our favourite mouthwash Acquefresca. But hang on, he may be on his way to the Cave In Cottage.

OK, then there's always young Master Bates. What's that? He's signed a new contract with Miserableborough? But they have been relegated!

Anybody left? Well yes actually, Neill has gone and Sears is out on a season long loan, so that's reduced the wage bill nicely. Quashi may follow, and Bowyer, and Downpipe. Oh, and Upson has his house up for sale and Green hasn't signed that new contract yet! Hmmmmmmm.

Hang on, what does that smoke signal say? W-H-A-T D-O Y-O-U E-X-P-E-C-T I-F Y-O-U A-R-E O-W-N-E-D B-Y A B-A-N-K-R-U-P-T B-A-N-K? What on earth could that mean? Must be a Tottenham Indian!

  1. Sears needs games.
    Neil is greedy.
Green said he wants to stay.
Upson wants a bigger club but would also like to stay.
We've got rid of the deadwood, because their deadwood i.e bowyer downpipe quashie.
Mancini is wanted by a bigger club.
Jimenez just needed a work permit.
We were after Acquefresca in Jan, no contact has been made this summer for him.
Apparently Matthew Bates rumours were way off the mark.
& theres nothing to suggest Balotelli wont come to us.

    :) Nothing about money...

  2. Who the hell is downpipe?

  3. Downpipe? Long and thin with water on the brain when it comes to defending. Who else but Davenport?

  4. hmm ,well last summer we weren,t constantly linked with faubert and behrami in the papers but we signed them

they were only mentioned when the deal was nearly done

is it just me or is it slightly worrying that we are not linked with too many strikes and the strikers we are linked with are young and are yet unproven in the prem or in italy

  5. Faubert the year before last mate - time flies faster the older you get!

  6. I forgot he was injured for most of the campaign the year before last thank god that happened otherwise we would have struggled to have kept 10th place with curbs

the most of the campaign I have only really seen him was this one I think the most worrying thing is that nobody is linked with faubert instead that we are linked with new players

  8. I love these blogs keep it up.
Let's just hope there is a lot going on in the background. Both Zola and Clarke have huge reputations so that may swing things. Who knows.

  9. Smoke signals? Probably. Don't forget we didn't hear one single thing about Ilunga until he was posted on the site holding a shirt. I think agents use the media to stir things up. The media NEED space to fill. How many times do we complain about the media getting just about everything wrong during the transfer market?

The first post is right, Sears does need games. Just a shame is it for Warnock the Whinger! Neil is not worth the dosh. Might as well let Spector have the position. A bit underrated IMHO. Just needs games in like everyone else. Solid actually.

It isn't time to get worried just yet Mate.

  10. I have one rule of thumb .. When the WHUFC official site posts it, then I believe.

  11. It's just silly rumor season, no need to panic, just chill and we'll know the squad on Sept 1st.

  12. 0135 I have this rule of thumb, when Gordon Brown announces it, I believe it...no hang on!

Do you remember when the Official Site said that Ferdinand and McCartney were not going to be sold? What about the ever changing Official line on Tevez? More recently, do you remember being told via the official site that nobody would be sold in January?

Your rule of thumb should be left to Tom! NEVER believe the official line would be much more sensible in EVERY walk of life. Just because the duck is gliding across the top of the water, it doesn't mean there isn't a lot of paddling going on beneath the surface!

Do you really trust Duxbury? Do you really trust a "Holding Company" appointed by the creditors of a bankrupt bank? More fool you if you do, sadly!

Smoke screens, God I hope so. If we are truthfully discussing potential transfers then there really is no hope for us!

Lets not forget that Nani/Zola/Clarke are going about things rather differently than what we have come to expect. I'm happy not to be expecting a few megamoney crocks and look forward now to seeing the young talent that I have a hunch is up Nani's sleeve...

It's starting to feel like West Ham again and its not been like that for a very long time. COYI!

(love the tongue-in-cheek blogs HF, keep em coming)

Paper talk, all of it - I don't believe anything about 'new' players until they're wearing or holding the claret and blue shirt, at a press call on the pitch at UP.

Blogs getting better by the day HF. Most of the freaks seem to have gone for the moment.

Sky Sport 24 reckon the Jimenez deal is done and dusted. He is now officially on loan to WHU.

I'll believe it when I see it.

  16. If Sky says it, it must be true! I learnt about Tevez and Mascherano on Sky and thought, they've got the wrong club!
