I've started so I won't finish...Boa lasts 45 mins!
Well there's a shocker. Selected to play against the mighty Albania, Hammer enigma Luis Boa-Morte lasted just 45 minutes in his come back game for Portugal. To those who see Boa for what he is, the only surprising thing about this news is that he was given a start in the first place; but for the claret and blue tinted glasses brigade, the discovery that Boa is not good enough for international football, even when the opponents are part timers, will come as a huge shock.
Hammers fan and football pundit Lee Vitout raged, "This is a disgrace. Boa has been brilliant for West Ham. OK he was a mug but he aint now. He's better than that diving pillock Ronaldo for starters. If somebody was going to be subbed it should have been him."
Vitout was still fuming about criticism of Green's performance for England in Kazakhstan. He raged, "Green kept a clean sheet. He didn't try to save that off side goal. He knew their geezer was offside. He let the cross go. He was looking at the flag not the ball. Anybody who says he missed that cross is a mug. Or a Spud."
Still, there was better news for Vitout regarding Upson. He was back to his Curbishley inspired best, regularly missing out the England midfield with ill directed lumps into the Kazakhstan half. Vitout explained, "If he had used the midfield he might have passed to Fat Frank. No West Ham player will pass to Lumpard."
FFS hw was brought off BEFORE half time because of injury. Get your facts right before you make articles.......
ReplyDeleteThe fact some are revelling in the fact that one of our players seemed to have a bad game at international level is so disappointing. I despair at our "fans" sometimes
ReplyDeleteGlad for the fella on the call up, and starting. He has deserved it
The point is, he hasn't deserved it!
ReplyDeleteHe was picked so he deserved it.
ReplyDeletePortugal's players aren't exactly buzzing now are they?? He does deserve it, he has played well for us Hammers at the end of the season... One improvement he could make is actually passing the ball more and creating chjances rather than putting his head down and jus running!! Anyways... he does deserve his call-up in my opinion!! ReplyDeleteYou call yourself an England fan and slag Green, your call yourself a West Ham fan and slag LBM and Green and Di Canio and Bowyer and Deano and Dyer and Curbs and and and... get my drift? You blow your own trumpet and tell us how great a writer you are how controversial you are and how you like to be provocative (yeah right) When we are top four with a side of superstars (I exaggerate to make the point) who will you slag then. Oh and by the way a question, can someone with your extra special abilities (like you have) be provocative/a good writer/ controversial and yet still be a fan of those he professes to be a fan of but still be a little POSITIVE? Because with all your greatness you don't seem able to manage that one. With greatness comes great responsiblity Obi One
ReplyDeleteI noticed the one mate you have uses the word c'nuts as in "If this is the standard of player we are chasing then we are in trouble. I'd rather see young kids given a go and make mistakes rather than messing about with these old cnuts!" Are they like c'walnuts or is it a sexual reference?
ReplyDeleteYet again saying the EXACT thing that will get the biggest response. He was taken off at half-time because of injury. Whether he deserved it or not? Queiroz obviously thought so and it's his team.
ReplyDeleteI admire Boa.. the abuse he was getting and he comes back and gives his all every single match. He is lacking in certain areas we know that but his effort is pleasing to see.
LOL Great post above. Criticising me for saying that Boa isn't good enough for international football and finishing with, "He is lacking in certain areas we know that but his effort is pleasing to see." Imagine the tactical instructions, "OK Boa, do what you do best, go out there and run around a lot. If you touch the ball it's a bonus. If you pass to a man on our side, that would be brilliant. If you score...sorry, my sides are aching from laughing! Get out there lad and RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!
ReplyDeleteI didn't see the game but here's two quotes from match reports on the net:
ReplyDelete"Portugal's surprise starter Luis Boa Morte was ineffective and playmaker Deco could not initiate flowing moves. Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz replaced Boa Morte with Simao Sabrosa at halftime and Portugal began to created more chances."
"Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz replaced ineffective midfielder Luis Boa Morte with Simao Sabrosa at halftime and Portugal created more chances in the second half."
The Boa Morte question rather sums up the average football supporter for me. My opinion has not changed, he is not premiership quality although he does have some value as a harrier as part of a 5 man midfield, especially against the bigger clubs; I have however never boo'd him nor any other West Ham player.
ReplyDeleteThe majority of supporters have boo'd him and slagged him off incessantly over the last three seasons, but suddenly after a slight improvement in form, I am not a real hammer for maintaining the opinion that I have consistently maintained, he's not premiership quality. Yes he has a good attitude, he has had to have had given the treatment that he has received from fans who now accuse you and me of being unreasonable in our criticism.
