Why Have Tottenham Held The Knapp Hand Over West Ham?
Given how dreadfully Tottenham have performed over each of the last two seasons, it is perhaps something of a mystery as to why they have claimed five wins over us from the last six head to head contests. Indeed, that word "contest" might be overstating the case when it comes to the 4-0 thumping we received at the Lane the season before last - that wasn't a contest, that was an out and out massacre. So what's going on?
We can, to a certain extent, fall back on the injuries argument. I know Tottenham fans will claim that is lame, but to a certain extent, that's the point! Go back to that 4-0 thumping and we were without Bellamy, Dyer, Upson, Collins and Gabbidon. Ferdinand was roundly blamed for losing his man at set pieces but he was trying to hold Tottenham at bay with Spector alongside him. Of course, losing Boa-Morte to a red did not help but it was obvious he was going to get his marching orders so Curbishley must carry the can for leaving him on! Or for picking him in the first place! Go back to the 3-4 Upton Park defeat and we lost Upson inside the first ten minutes and had to bring on Davenport. Last season at the Lane, we virtually fielded our youth team!
But so what? You have a squad because you suffer injuries and that squad coped pretty well over the whole season. Indeed, we gloat about stopping Tottenham from finishing fourth because of that epic FA Cup Final warm up game victory which proved such a sickener for Spurs, but the Cockyfools can gloat back that they, in fact, kept us out of Europe last season. Had we shared the six points with them, we would have finished above Fulham. In fact, our two surrenders against Tottenham were major factors in keeping them in the division. Shave off those six points, achieved at critical points in the season, and 'Arry might not have found life quite so comfortable. Ignore our head to heads and we were, in fact, TWELVE points better than Tottenham last season, despite all the money they have spent!
So why? I suspect it comes down to the state of mind of the two sets of players. For us, it is just another game against a run of the mill mid table team. For Tottenham, it is a fixture of far greater significance, a match against a key rival that, over the years, has emerged from Tottenham's shadow and started to stake a claim to replace them as London's third biggest club. Poor Tottenham. They have seen Arsenal pull away from them, Chelsea overtake them and leave them in their wake and West Ham pull up onto their shoulder. They are like a marathon runner without a sprint finish. Even Fulham look like leaving them in their wake!
So, to win we have to view this game as a form of Cup Final, just as Tottenham do. Let's face it, we don't go on to the Fulham and Blunderland boards and gloat about doing the double over them do we? But look at how many Cockyfools come on here "boasting" about taking six points off us last season. The poor Cockyfools - those two Cup Final victories were all that they had to gloat about last season, that and avoiding a relegation that seemed likely until Christmas. In a way, we should let them enjoy their petty victories but I think it is now time for us to assert our superiority - as a team and as a club. Next season, Zola needs to stress the importance of the fixture and to point our to our lads that Tottenham step up their game because it is against the mighty West Ham, just as we raise our game when we play the Mancs. If we understand the rivalry and achieve the same intensity, we will put these sad Cockyfools squarely in their place!
I am a Spurs fan, and I must say I enjoy the friendly rivalry between Spurs and the Hammers. It is, as you say, easy to blame injuries for and the like for defeat. We all know it is difficult to taste defeat at the best of times, and even more so against close rivals. All I can say is that the Spurs/Hammers games are always some of the best to watch, and its always nice knowing we'll take a minimum six points a year from derby games.
ReplyDeletewe beat you cos were better than you
ReplyDelete"For Tottenham, it is a fixture of far greater significance, a match against a key rival that, over the years, has emerged from Tottenham's shadow and started to stake a claim to replace them as London's third biggest club."
ReplyDeletehahahahah, good 1.
Another spurs article. Start supporting the hammers you sad man anything for a reaction to your pathetic blog and yes I am a hammer and a season ticket holder unlike you who almost never even goes to the games at the Boleyn.
ReplyDeleteBIGGER GAME FOR TOTTENHAM???? U LOT ARE DILLUSIONAL! THATS YOUR CUP FINAL EVERY YEAR AND THATS WHY U BOTTLE IT EVERY SEASON. WE DONT EVEN HATE YOU, WE JUST LAUGH AT THE FACT U HATE US!!! SAD ARTICLE FOR A WEST HAM FAN!
ReplyDeleteNice little chapter on the Eastenders history on not beating the mighty Spurs... shame your still thinking of the great players of 1966.....COYS..
ReplyDeleteMORE SPURS NEWS?
ReplyDeleteWhat is the matter man, is being a hammer really that bad?
Yet another wasted 5 minutes reading this.... Please go andf find something interesting to write about as this seems to be that your cup final is only "Can we beat spurs"
ReplyDeleteHalf a season start and we still finish above you says it all I think.....
More Spurs news!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat is the matter with you man, is being a hammer really that bad?
For Tottenham, it is a fixture of far greater significance, a match against a key rival that, over the years, has emerged from Tottenham's shadow and started to stake a claim to replace them as London's third biggest club.
ReplyDeleteReally? I thought we treated it more as an additional training routine.
What a shocking article. We finished above you even after the start we had.
Stake a claim as Londons 3rd biggest club? By rights, you have Fulham ahead of you too - I recall they finished above both our sides.
Absolute crap and a waste of 5 minutes of my life!
Just shows how deluded some of you West Ham fans really are.
You really do have a serious chip on your shoulder about Tottenham don't you?
ReplyDeleteYou may think that Tottenham fans spend all their time gloating about doing the double over West Ham, but who's the one writing about Spurs every day? Huh?
I, for one, haven't seen many West Ham stories on the Tottenham blog sites...
You have to be the most deluded west ham fan on the planet. Your websites are always going on about Spurs. Youtube is full of your fans abusing spurs.
ReplyDeleteFacts
1. You will never be bigger than spurs
2. You will go bust by xmas
3. you are our feeder club
4. you are a yo-yo club
Just admit you are a club that is as big as millwall, palace, qpr
What a sad boy you are! You truly don't understand football, or life. This was a very twisted blog entry, do you understand the basics of a logical argument or the nature of critic? Look at facts not bitterness!
ReplyDeleteNice attempt at a wind up matey, but we all know the "rivalry" is one way.
ReplyDeleteLondon has always had 3 big clubs. Unfortunately for West ham they have never been amongst them.
They never will either.
Arsenal have 26 trophies, Tottenham 17, Chelsea 14...West Ham have 4 and have never finished above 3rd(their only time in the top 4, to put that into perspective Spurs have won the top flight twice, runners up 4 times and achieved a top 4 finish over 20 times)
Bigger fanbase, bigger stadium(which is due to get even bigger)more money, much better league record, qualified for Europe 16 times(West Ham have managed it a measly 5)way more European trophies...I could go on.
As to the reason why Spurs always beat West Ham too, we have better players. It's pretty simple really. The only time you managed to finsih above us in recent years we won a trophy too which overshadowed that "achievement"(you finished 1 place above us, both in midtable!) anyway!
The only time in recent years you have beat Spurs was when Tottenham had an entire squad sick! And you lot moan about sickness and injuries!!! Gotta love ths spanners!
West Ham- Bolton of the south(although Bolton have actually won more trophies)
Dream on. If it means so little why the war & peace on it. Just be happy you are managing to be in the Premiership, it least for now. Have a good season behind us again!
ReplyDeleteAnother West Ham blog about Tottenham. This time attempting to rationale why West Ham have always been in our shadow. It's like asking why the sky is blue.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your status as nearlymen because success is measured in achievements, and no trophies are awarded for beating Spurs during a season, or for stopping us getting into Champions League one season.
Just remember, you'll always be in our shadow, the fact that you have to treat the Spurs game as a 'cup final' undermines your whole argument that West Ham are knocking at the door.
Come up with some new material. About your own team, not about your richer, far more successful neighbours.
Peace
Dream on spammer!I look forward to us smashing you again next season!
ReplyDeleteIt's all well and good you refering to them as your 'reserves' and 'youth' team but the reality is, while your 1st team were getting beat there were other collectives of West Ham players elsewhere, these other players are...wait for it...your reserves and youth team! Yes, it's true...the very fact you fielded a team for a Barclays Premiership game means that, the players fielded ARE your first team, maybe not necceraly your first choice...but believe it or not West Ham aren't the only team in the prem to have injured players.
ReplyDeleteYou lost both times last year cause you play shite against us, and its not our "cup final", thats either the Arse or Chelsea.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry West Ham are bollox, but there's nothing I, or spurs can really do to help.
keep posting, allways a good read
HAHAHHAHAHAHA this is the funniest thing i have read in years, but i think you will find that you are now where near spurs in terms of a team/squad/club this season first season in four with no european football and west ham ummm. You should worry about getting to a Real Cup Final or getting to europe maybe instead of worrying about beating us. Feeder club always were always will be.
ReplyDeleteCOYS
PMSL
ReplyDeleteTottenham are your Cup Finals
And you lost both
The only time you win is when Spurs are ill (says it all about your club)
Now buy some more Obsession and keep playing Every Breath You Take
why are you so utterly obsessed about spurs? why can't you discuss your own players, history, transfers, successes, failings, etc, etc, without bringing us into it. quite sad.
ReplyDeleteYou keep loosing against Spurs cause you've played shit against us for the last couple of years, with the exception of the 4-3 game.
ReplyDeleteand playing West Ham aint are "cup final", thats usually playing Arsenal or Chelsea.
I'm sorry West Ham are bollox, I really am, But theres nothing I, or Spurs can help you with there.
See you next year for another 6 points.
deliberately trying to wind up spares fans, nothing better to do bed-sit boy? Little things please little minds
ReplyDeleteYou spend more time thinking about spurs than I do....and I support them!!! You really need to get a life, concentrate on Zola, if you don't he'll have left by the time you realise he's too good for you. 2 points from 8 games and we still finish above you, how poor does that make you or did you you have to field your youth team the whole season??? Injuries...boo hoo it's a man's game. 4-0 in your cup final!!!!
ReplyDelete"for us ts just another game, but for them its much more important! " lol....hammersfan, now i know your on a wind up!...the reason why we beat you so much, and have put 7 goals past you since you last scored against us, is very simple....we have a far supierior squad, but of course you already know that!, and this is just a wind up to get afew spurs fans going!
ReplyDeleteAre real? Wet Ham are inferior in every single department you can name. It's your cup final, not ours.
ReplyDeleteI would worry more about your own team plight and long term security than to get all hot and flustered about THFC doing th double onceagain.
That is the biggest load of sh1t I have ever read. Yes I am a Spurs fan but come on you lot at West Ham are so sad its untrue. I mean we had a poor season by our standards but still finished above you lot and got to a cup final. Also it was seen as a good season for the Spammers. Mate you need to grow up and stop having a pop at Tottenham. GET A LIFE. Still going back to the time we just missed out on CL. F8ck me change the record.
ReplyDeletenever heard such deluded madness- I support Spurs and like nearly all spurs fans dont even consider West Ham as rivals. I only care about beating Arsenal and maybe Chelsea but have never understood why West Ham care so much about Spurs- for example when you beat us to stop us finishing 4th it was like you had won the world cup. hence I am amazed you seem to see things the other way round. Believe me we dont care.
ReplyDeleteI think it all depends on when you meet a team, for instance, when we met S***s first time around last season, we were having a bit of a wobbly one because we were going through a transition period with the squad still trying to get to grips with Zola's tactics, whereas S***s were having a bit of a revival under their new manager Arry and the second time around, we had been previously hit with a string of injuries to key players such as Behrami, Collison, Parker, Cole and of course no Deano all season, so we were in fact fielding our youth and reserve side with the ineptitude of The Chuckle Brothers up front while again S***s we going through a bit of a resurgence, but had we have had them at home within the first five or six games of the season while One Day was still there and then away in the first couple of weeks in January when we still had a very strong first team whilst Bellend was still with us, then I think the six points would've been ours and not theirs, so it's like I said, it all depends on what stage of the season you get them and that goes for evey team.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it always West Ham fans writing about Spurs hatred of West Ham when not one Spurs fans even bother to mention them!!!
ReplyDeleteArsenal are our rivals!!! Plus all over clubs.
"For us, it is just another game against a run of the mill mid table team. For Tottenham, it is a fixture of far greater significance?"
ReplyDeleteOh dear. Another sad article where we harp on about the Spuds. If you honestly believe that then why write this? Get over it, why are we so obsessed with proving we are equal to them? I read so many of these it makes me mad. The Spuds must be laughing their heads off.
We have fallen short for most our history. Surely it is about getting behind Zola and pushing on from hoping to avoid relegation! Sums up most the negative support from our so called fans at UP. Handball!
I find it extraordinary, that you care so much about Spurs and believe it says much about your "short a**e syndrome" than us.
ReplyDeleteI simply followed a spurs link on newsnow or i would'nt have seen this tosh,do you think that succesive players and managers see you as our main threat, you just are'nt that important to us and i say this without enmity.
OMG. It's about Spuds again!!! I'm a life-long hammer fan, and even I think you are pathetic. This latest post is nothing but a joke, and I'm ashamed that you support the same club as I do!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a fact that we lost, but we will be better next year. Why do you have to dig up the embarassing moments again and try to justify why it happened that way????
It's just like you are broadcasting to everyone that you juz got r*ped... and that's all becoz you have a nice butt.
Loser... and pls support another team.
Do you think that Spurs judge this as a cup final? Spurs are just so much better that wet spam that we could put out our reserves and we would still beat you. And the reason you dont come on to our boards and gloat is because you never beat us.
ReplyDelete1014, your simile is deeply inappropriate and probably says a lot about you and your attitude to women. Rape is not something to joke about my friend.
ReplyDeleteYour request for me to support another team probably says a lot about your passion for football too. How do you believe changing allegiance is possible? It would be as "easy" to swap my daughter for another. Ludicrous!
The article is a reply to all the Cockyfools who ram their recent success down our throats. The idea is to hold a mirror up to all those idiots who calim there is no rivalry. No rivalry? Why do they pile in to this blog at the slightest provocation? I ignore the taunts on other club's boards. There's a good wheez about Rebrov joining Arsenal at the moment. It is a team in the Ukraine. Are the Arsenal fans upset like these Cockyfools? Of course not. They swat the fly or ignore it. These Cockyfools run around screaming at the first sign of a buzz! That's because they see us as a threatening hornet!
Brilliant and very funny,,,,and just the sort of thing to make the average spuds fan fume,,,,only the 1st spud comment has any merit....keep the wind ups going it makes my day
ReplyDelete"thats because they see us a threatening hornet"...looooooooooool..ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha....the club with no money, owners with no money, a squad made up of old crocks and mediocre kids (savio, hmmm really worth 9 or 10mil isnt he! NOT!)...yeah, a real threatening hornet is west ham pmsl
ReplyDeleteOn the contary, I have plenty of respect for women, just not for a loser like you. By the way, r*pe does not only happen on women, as perceived by you MCP.
ReplyDeleteOf course I wouldn't swap my daughter. However, since I treat WH as my daughter, and I would pray day and night that she will not be associated with a loser like you.
I believe most of the spuds are here because you wanted them to. Similarly I'm here coz of the "West Ham" in your title. If not, I wouldn't have come across your pathetic blog.
Move on. I believe next season will be an exciting one. Write about something else. Write about our new signing Jimenez, though I suspect you will be gloating on and on about how he chose to join us instead of spuds....
10:27.Hammersfan.
ReplyDeleteyou are a pathetic little boy. How does Rebrov joining an arsenal club in Ukraine compare to the drivel posted about Spurs taking the game against you more than your lot cos it's out cup final? If you said Boa Mortr was joing Spurs and we realised it's Cape Town Spurs, who will care. If it was a fact, who will care. But when you chat crap, then you need to be told hence the boys and even your own fans letting you know.
Hammers forever! We crap on the tosh from North London. How many England Internationals do you have at moment? Answer that!!! No Defoe was produced by us. Next?
ReplyDeleteLong live Tony Carr!
ReplyDelete10:51. You hit the nail on the head. You are a feeder club and we give you the dross we don't want.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I thought you nicked Defoe from Charlton.
About England internationals, does it make your team better? We have internationals all round, not just england. Liverpool only have Gerrard but they challenged for the title. It's not the internationals you have, it's what your team can do.
Obviously it means alot to you cockyfools, otherwise you would not be soooooo upset! Ha ha ha mugs
ReplyDelete10:51. You nicked Defoe from Charlton. Your duly did your duty by feeding us with your players in exchange for those we don't want.
ReplyDeleteIt's not the England internationals you have in your team that counts, it's the good players you have that counts. Liverpool only have Gerrard in the England squad.
11:00. We are just correcting the delusional drivel that you lot spout.
How can Spurs and West Ham be rivals? Jesus. Compare trophies, history, league places, European history etc.
Spuds - Do you guys like 'Arry? Serious question for once :)
ReplyDeleteDefoe was produced by Charlton. I wouldn't let that little shit have the satisfaction of claiming academy status.
ReplyDeleteStop writing headlines just for the purpose of getting maximum newsnow coverage and hits for this dross.
This shite is in no way representative of West Ham fans...it's not a "brilliant" and "very funny" wind up either, it's lazy and dull writing.
It makes me cringe that you are associated with West Ham
The mighty Foghorn Leghorn takes the bait again! Like pigs to truffles!!
ReplyDeleteCan't spot a wind up when it's slapping you in the face! You have been well and truly 'Tangoed' you mugs'.
If you had an ounce of sense you'd see it and avoid it and leave us to take the piss out of you amongst ourselves but no.
Cockyfool suckers!
lol
ReplyDeletesee you as threatening - no chance.
Before the days of the internet - and the opportunity to show of that chip on your shoulder I had absolutely no feeling or opinion of west ham - other than they had a nasty group of fans that enjoyed the hooligan side of supporting football - oh and some great players from the past had played in their colours.
I was neutral to your lot- take it or leave it 2 games a season - like any other team except Arsenal.
However - it seems that slowly people like yourself have crawled out of the woodwork as a keyboard warrior to create this need to feel loved/hated in the hope that we have an opinion about you
It's honestly like standing in the middle of a crowed screaming "SOMEONE NOTICE ME - PLEEEEEASE!"
I have formed an opinion about west Ham in recent years - like several other clubs in recent years because of the sh!te I read on the net like this
I don't like the way my opinion of clubs is changed by the minority of fans who use the internet to take on some private agenda beacuse they had an argument - or someone made them feel small in the past.
GET OVER IT
My opinion of West Ham has changed
I didn't use to care about them - nowadays my opinion of them has changed to the point that they irritate the cr4p out of me because of so called fans like this that have an agenda and find it in their interest to generate "hits" and awareness
Rivalry - no chance from my point of view - you're like the little kid in the gang who keeps following you around with some weird fixation - maybe you shacked up with his sister - you don't like and he irritates you but for some reason you just can't shake.
We'll just have to wait until he grows up and finds something else to carry on his obsession - hopefully
10:51
ReplyDeleteWhen was the last time WHU 'fed' the cockyfools??
Seems to me the mighty cocks are now Man Ure's feeder club.
Spurs fans talking about delusion.. Top four again this year hey!
ReplyDeleteI know youre only winding up the Spurs fans, at leaast I hope you are, because if you believe any of the s*** you put in that entry you are a bigger idiot than I thought. The spoon-playing jellied eel eating "irons" will never be a threat to Tottenham.....ever.
ReplyDeleteHammersfan: "The article is a reply to all the Cockyfools who ram their recent success down our throats. The idea is to hold a mirror up to all those idiots who claim there is no rivalry."
ReplyDeleteI would probably put it as a more "sustained" or "consistent" success in comparison, considering your relegation, brush with relegation (where you only stayed up due to the dodgy deal with Tevez)and West Ham's general inferiority to Spurs in both recent times as well as further back in history, as pointed out by anon8:47.
Oh, and your mention of rivalry which supposedly West Ham fans, such as yourself, apparently don't see...?
Hammersfan: "For us, it is just another game against a run of the mill mid table team. For Tottenham, it is a fixture of far greater significance, a match against a key rival that, over the years, has emerged from Tottenham's shadow and started to stake a claim to replace them as London's third biggest club."
This comment followed shortly after with...
Hammersfan: "Next season, Zola needs to stress the importance of the fixture and to point our to our lads that Tottenham.... If we understand the rivalry and achieve the same intensity, we will put these sad Cockyfools squarely in their place!"
You really don't quite understand how to hide youir jealousy, envy, irritation, whatever you want to call it when you write ANOTHER article against a team that supposedly doesn't bother you or West Ham as they aren't rivals and therefore don't mean anything. Strange.
Oh, and I'd like to finish off with perhaps the most pointless argument I've ever read...
Hammersfan: "Ignore our head to heads and we were, in fact, TWELVE points better than Tottenham last season, despite all the money they have spent!"
Well to that logic, if us Spurs fans ignored our poor start and just concentrated on the season we had under Redknapp, I think that we would have ended up at least in the top 5, I can't really be bothered to work it out exactly as its pointless. What's done is done! And when looking back at last season we won't ignore the awful start, yet we will still see that Spurs finished above West Ham... says a lot, I think.
Grow up Hammersfan, your getting torn apart by Spurs and West Ham fans alike, as well as any other fans that venture on here!
Another spurs article Another spurs article – yes that right fed –up with west ham fans going on about how big thety are well you’re not when west ham going accept firstly you’re not cockney football club your almost in essex , most of players who any good want to leave by time their 21 if haven’t left it’s because their injury prone or over the hill – as spurs fan for over 40 years i use to like west ham but after ranting from one of director last season – i really love it if west ham to do Newcastle next season – along with arsenal
ReplyDeleteWow...that is the biggest load of sh*t I've read in years.
ReplyDelete11:43. RE~: WestHam being a feeder club.
ReplyDeleteWell, over the past few years, we had taken Defoe, Carrick, and Kanoute. We usually give you in turn, players who we think are ageing or out of form, like Sir Les, Sheri, Rebrov, and Ethrerington.
As for Manure, we have sold them Berba and Carrick for £50m quid.
Just be grateful, as if it wasn't for our help, you would have been completely bankrupt.
11:44. I will gladly take being called delusional over the last few seasons for aiming for the champions league. At least we finished 5th back to back, so why not aim for the next step? That's what any sane person does. I don't know what your aim is? But I will rather be a delusional Spurs fan aiming for the champions league, than a delusional Hammer aiming to be a Spurs rival.
Happy Hammer does not have any meaning to you by the sounds of your miserable blog.
ReplyDeleteCome on get over it and accept that west ham will always be our feeder club.
I see palace and QPR as more of a threat - another easy 6 points for SPURS next term.
LOL 1425, nothing miserable about this post from a West Ham point of view. And if you stir a wasp's nest, you expect lots of angry buzzing. Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! LOL
ReplyDeleteOk, look. Your argument/defence is that you are responding to us Spurs fans ramming our wins down your throats, but you seem to misunderstand that we only ever mention WH when they mention us. Like this article, which, as per usual, is confused and muddled. Its a cry for attention.
ReplyDeleteSorry lad, but we will never care about you half as much you as you want us to and nowhere near as much as you obviously 'care' about us.
Just concentrate on your own club. There's plenty to get your teeth into.
buzzzzzz off
ReplyDeleteA few points from a Tottenham fan.
ReplyDelete1) We hate arsenal. end of. Go to WHL and all you will hear are anti Arsenal songs. I can honestly say I have never sung a bad word against West Ham. Why would i or any Spurs fans? If you support spurs, you hate Arsenal. Thats how it works. The only memorable thing I can remember from our win against you last season was the shouts of handball. Besides that, I felt the same emotion as beating Bolton, Wigan or whoever. Its the same with Chelsea, a mythical rivalry that is totally one way.
2) there are many Spurs fans that are realists, if not pessimists. Its a tiny minority who spout all this business about finishing in the top four. Most of us sit uncomfortably even if we were two or three goals up. Its part of being a Spurs fan. Always ups and downs. You are just painting a generic picture of a Spurs fan that is nonsense. Some arsenal fans wanted Wenger out last season Why dont you slate them? Thats a real example of arrogance.
3) Why the obvious hatred towards Harry? I have little knowledge of West Ham but didnt you sack him? If Martin Jol became your manager we would give him a heroes reception on returning to the Lane. If he joined Arsenal he would get slated. Its how it works.
4) You have a decent manager in charge, why get so obsessive about spurs? Seriously, with financial backing you will do well next year so why bang on about Tottenham every post?
I think this piece says it all
ReplyDeletehttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1195501/Arsenal-longer-loathe-Spurs-West-Ham-dont-hate-Millwall-Chelsea-new-Man-United-.html?ITO=1490
The incorrect notion that Spurs fans actually give a shit about West Ham can now be finally laid to rest.
Out of all the Spurs fans polled about clubs they dislike, West Ham didn't feature - I bet that just eats you up, doesn't it?
Good luck for next season!
I'm a Spurs fan and I keep stumbling on this page. I don't see any point in wasting engery arguing over who is the bigger club... how do you even quantify that. Anyway, I'm not sure who these fans are that get so worked up by your articles but they must be in the minority as this survey shows.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1195501/Arsenal-longer-loathe-Spurs-West-Ham-dont-hate-Millwall-Chelsea-new-Man-United-.html?ITO=1490
Great timing don't you think? :)
I love the tottenham fans you attract, their so delightful not to mention defensive. If you took a minute to actually read the article, you will see that it's hardly attacking your club, but in some ways highlighting the times you have defeated us.
ReplyDeleteIf one club are a better club based on the fact that they take six points off another club in a season, then the league would look very different then it does
Anywho, i know i'm talking to a brick wall here, and it's a shame because there are some really cool Tottenham fans out there, and West Ham fans. I guess we will just have to wait.
Further to my response earlier (anon12.35)...
ReplyDeletehttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1195501/Arsenal-longer-loathe-Spurs-West-Ham-dont-hate-Millwall-Chelsea-new-Man-United-.html?ITO=1490
Says it all really - West Ham aren't in the top 3 most disliked clubs from Spurs' point of view, yet spurs are number 1 most disliked club from West Ham's point of view!! Pipe down Hammersfan!
I don't 'ate 'Arry.
ReplyDelete'E's one of us and without 'im you'd be playing Newcastle next season!
15:23 that's every Tottenham fans point, for which we commonly reply with, yes but look at Your top 3, seems quite unrealistic don't ya think?
ReplyDeleteWhy can't you simply let us be pathetic and hate you?
edz,
ReplyDeletewe are closer to them in terms of status and trophies than you are to us. I can probably count on one hand the amount of trophies you have won. Unless am wrong, you have won FA in the last 30 years, and have also spent considerable amount of time in the lower league. So how can we even rival when we haven't only been in the same league less than 5 years.
haa ode spammers,
ReplyDeletei have never had a problem with west ham, i wanted you to gain promotion the other year and i had a bet on you to beat liverpool in the fa cup final, was gutted to see gerrard smack one in.
It just seems fans like you want to create a rivalry that just isnt there, i hate ar5ena1, hate chelski, have a certain disliking for man u,
but west ham...nah. you spammers dont realy bother us.
so you can carry on hating us all you like, but as much as you hate to admit, spurs are the 3rd (or even possibly 2nd) biggest club in london and west ham simply aint, and that realy gets to you dont it?
ok i disagree, i think tottenham are nowhere near breaking into the top 4 to be honest, and neither are West Ham, i don't think its rocket science to see that you are competing with us for that seventh spot, not chelsea, arsenal or Man utd for the top 4.
ReplyDeleteAs for the history, can you say that honestly care?, because i couldn't care less, different managers, different players and different styles completely. Does Steven Gerrards goal which prevented us winning the Fa cup mean that we are crap for not winning anything, no. It means that a great goal went in.
As i said before, if Tottenham don't care about us, then don't care about us being pathetic for disliking spurs, i don't like your clubs ethics, does that mean you have to reply each and every time?
I need to sit down for a sec
Edz, it is bloody Rocket ENGINEERING!
ReplyDeleteEdz,
ReplyDeletewe are not competing with yout for 7th spot. You are delusional again. We ended up competing with you for 7th cos of the terrible start. But when we got going, the form we had was enough to get us 5th at least. So that's what we are aiming for at least, not 7th spot. I don't think you aim is 5th or 4th, is it? So we might be competing with the likes of Everton or Villa, or Man City for next season, not you. You may see us as your rivals, but we don't. Period. Get over it.
Edz,
ReplyDeleteWe aim for 5th, 6th and then push on from there.
we are not competing with you for 7th spot. You are delusional again. We ended up competing with you for 7th cos of the terrible start. But when we got going, the form we had was enough to get us 5th at least (in a whole season). That's why we got ahead of you. We give you a head start and still beat you. I don't think your aim is 5th or 4th, is it? So we might be competing with the likes of Everton or Villa, or Man City for next season, not you. You may see us as your rivals, but we don't. Period. Get over it.
lol so you want me to take in account the great form your going to have next season which you haven't yet achieved?
ReplyDeleteI'm basing my argument on what i have seen over the past 2 years, and as i forecast things, your a 7th position team. I don't see any evidence of you breaking into the top 4, none of your managers seem to want the team to settle down, and you have around 8 different languages in your dressing room and your only real candidate of captaincy is AGAIN rumoured to be going.
I think your chairman seems to be only interested in elaborate deals which look good but turn out to be dissapointing for you. Can you tell me why you WILL break into the top 4,5 or 6?
Just thought I'd quote you a comment from Dear Mr Levy, a Spurs blog:
ReplyDelete"The Games Gone Crazy, a West Ham United blog about Tottenham, talking about the rivarly between us and the 'ammers. Bless. I'm not going to link to the article or the blog. You can easily find it in amongst the Tottenham News Now listings."
So, so true.
Oh I wish you could see an article on the daily mail website. It states which london clubs hates what teams most hahahaha
ReplyDeleteWest are not in the spurs top 3
but spurs are your most hated club. (3rd are Sheffield Utd, I don't understand that one, probably a championship thing)
See, we really don't care one sh!te about west ham, don't get me wrong, we love beating you but you're just bubble gum on our shoe, annoying lol
Must say though your post did make me laugh, some of the best blatant crap I've ever seen on the net. How do I subscribe??? lolz
22:11, what planet have you been living on? you do understand that West Ham have just had a huge out-of-court settlement with Sheff utd about the Tevez affair for which they blamed their poor form on Tevez, so no you prat, it is not a 'championship thing'.
ReplyDeleteAnd maybe Tottenham don't care about West Ham, but from the sheer amount of tottenham fan posts, it seems alot of you do, and i don't know if your just jumping on the band wagon or what, but everything you have said has already been said!
I need to sit down
AHAHAHAHA! not sure which is funnier spurs thinking they are a top club, or believing what they read in the daily mail!!!
