Four days in New York with no internet connection - signed on tonight hopeful of exciting news only to discover the signing of Kovac, a 0-1 reverse to Napoli and still no forward line. Come on Zola, sort it out! I will be back on British soil at 7.30 am Thursday and I want to see somebody on the books who can play up top alongside Carlton. Get your finger out!
0-1 reverse to Napoli?
ReplyDeleteYou've been in the US too long son.
Still, can't say I've missed you.
should have toni and tintin signed up on your return. let's go slaughter wolves
ReplyDeleteI bet everyone is so excited regarding your return!
ReplyDeleteLook on the bright side, you've drawn Milwall in the Carling cup! Maybe playng youe true rivals will take your mind off delusional rivalries with big clubs like Spurs....COYS!!!
ReplyDeleteHello Hammersfan, i wouldn't get too worried yet. Still two weeks to go & the last few days is usally where it all happens. There was some talk that the Premier League would ask permission of FIFA to get the Tuesday as well, as the Monday is a bank holiday. The sell on deal that Zola has offered for Chamakh is very clever i believe. That would be tempting & he would be ideal with Cole. Cole is a fine player. We will be singing his name by christmas i think. I am prepared to bet my left testicle on that. Even if Neill does not sign & even if we do lose Upson, i still think that we can survive till January with who we have. Faubert & Kovacs would have to lift but the incentive is there. If we can lure Chamakh, with he, Cole, Hines & Savio with a bit of confidence, we could score more than we let in. We still have Green & Ilunga. Still time yet. Zola has limited funds but he's a thinker.
ReplyDeleteWinston, the season starts the day after tomorrow. Wolves away may well be a low scoring game - and given we can't score, there is a real danger we could sacrifice crucial points in the opening fixture due to two month's prevarication.
ReplyDeleteEr Roger, we lost 1-0 to Napoli. What point were you trying to make?
ReplyDeleteI hear what you say, i don't disagree with you. However, i believe that we will sign, although late, & i believe that we will take at least a point from Wolves. FIFA have said that there are half a dozen clubs in the Premier League that could be in a better financial situation. Others have problems. Despite not having the funds that we would like to have, we have players coming back from long injuries. We need a buyer. If the players step up to the task & we can present as a well supported club with potential, things could change. As you say though, we need a good start, we need to sign & soon, & i would be a fool if i disagreed with you.
ReplyDeleteHow about an article about your first West Ham game Winston? I, for one, would find it entertaining and informative as it would predate my "debut" at Upton Park in 69.
ReplyDelete'0-1 reverse' sounds very American... That's the point Roger was making.
ReplyDeleteMate, why don't you join the Org Fantasy Footy league? Even you couldn't get kicked off that one!
ah, i see. in the us of a, that would be a one to nil shut out for napoli.
