Great To See The Spirit!

Wonderful to see the spirit out there today, it was reminiscent of the Great Escape. Zola hugging Behrami before he was sent on, hugs all round for Franco as he came off. The team played for their shirts today and did us proud. It may only have been Pompey but this was a huge win. Suddenly we are in amongst the pack whereas a defeat would have seen us cut adrift.

Just think, we are only a point behind Everton! Of course Moyes will cite all the injuries, but I think we have that excuse too don't we?

  1. I was at the game today and it was quite simply brilliant. we controlled the whole first half. we lost concentration in the first 20 of the second and when Kanu came on there was the sniff of a comeback goal in Pompey but Zola played it brilliantly and brought on Behrami who we all saw warming up and prayed he'd come on, I was surprised Diamanti came off, I would have taken off Franco maybe, he was pretty quiet today save for a beautiful back heel at some point, but wow, what a game Kovac had! I was shocked, he was up there with the almighty Parker and I was so pleased the man got that goal he deserved it, even Faubert worked hard with some neat passes. Tomkins was great in the air too and at one point headed the ball back up into the Pompey half from our bottom third, it was as if Collins had never left, reckon Steve Clarke has shown him the videos! It was a truly great and important game for us. Only 3 points now away from mid table. bring on the Spurs!!!

  2. I cant help but think,

Why the f**k have these same players not been putting in this sort of effort all season?

Yes I know you could argue that it has taken some of the recent signings time to settle, but I cant help but feel a bit pi**ed off with most of squad for the lack of passion up until recently

In my mind, no matter who is on that pitch, everyone should give 100% every game, and if not, they should not play.

Maybe im just a bit old fashion & out of touch.

  4. A win at Spurs and we are out of the Woods! Parker has been the player that held us together. Without his relentless spirited display every match West Ham could not have recovered. I hope that Behrami can now have a good run in the team (we really need him in midfield). Collison is excellent only he should practice his shooting. Even Kovac and Faubert played with belief and conviction. Let's beat Spurs now and we will be in mid-table by January!

  5. HF? Did you write this? You're not drunk are you? Wow :)

....dont forget the hugs for Kovac, we mustn't forget the hugs for Kovac....especially because he got the most.

Agree with Savvakis about Collison's shooting. Of course, he will no doubt improve. And Parker, awesome. If any of our players needed someone to look at, there, Scott Parker.

  6. Having these thoughts running in my mind.. let's say WHU stays up, PFC gets relegated, WHU has some cash, I'd love to see Piquionne, Belhadj, Boateng, Begovic in WHU colours. Blowing bubbles now...Congratulations to Pompey for putting up a good fight. They have some wonderful talents in their squad.

  7. Seeing the way Kovac and Jiminez played today makes me a bit more excited for the Tottenham game. Iknow it was against Pompey, but I hope they show the same effort and spirit against Tottenham. COYI
