Perfect Results Tonight!

Well, I suppose a Stoke victory at Wigan would have suited us better but Sunderland and Portsmouth sharing the points was perfect, Wigan will consider it 2 points lost and defeats for both Burnley and Bolton were just what the doctor ordered!

Mind you, how lame does our performance on Saturday look after our conquerors were hammered 3-0 at out of form Fulham? Once again, it emphasises to me how poorly we are playing. The points tossed away over the last three games could haunt us!

Still, it's all to play for against Birmingham tomorrow! All to play for indeed because anything less than a win could mean Armageddon! Let's hope the players are feeling motivated by Sullivan announcing through the press that they can all expect wage cuts in the summer!

  1. I don't often agree with ANYTHING you say! But you are spot on with this one!

  2. A Pompey win would have been nice too I think. Pompey are well gone and a win would have dragged Sunderland into it...better for us in the long run.

  3. Matt, good to see you looking in! Good job you didn't get this blog closed down despite your petition! What does Iain think about the way Sullivan is trying to force Zola's resignation?

  4. Stani, Pompey had 3 winnable games in a row. I don't want them gaining ANY momentum. Two lost home points for them and 2 lost away points for Sunderland in my book!

  5. Great results tonight!
Although i don't think Fulham beating Burnley has says anything about us.
We all knew Burnley were great at home and i think lately, especially in that game, we have been playing well.

Nevertheless, we have a fantastic opportunity tomorrow night to go 14th (Aslong as Hull loose).

Wigan and Bolton still have a game in hand, althought it is against eachother and Hull are one game ahead of everyone else!

We find ourselves in a great situation to finish the season well and stear ourselves clear of trouble, just aslong as we win tomorrow and keep on track. Which i think we will.

Burnley, Hull & Pompey are my favourites to go down.

  6. I will be at the match tomorrow, but none of you will see me. I won't be in disguise, but i'll watch the match from a part of the ground that isn't used anymore. I'll be waiting in the wings!

  7. ....Just don't spell your name like that on the back of your shirt when you take over though 'Marc'

  8. You can wait where you like Marc, the meeting's already finished. I invest my £3M compensation in the "new project" and I get to manage the team again.

  9. But don't you think Pompey are already gone though HF? They need maybe an average of 1.5 points a game. I just think dragging Sunderland into the mire would be a good thing...and we still got them at home I think.

  11. Always look in mate, but like I said, I don;t usually agree with much you say so I just look in and leave!

Ahh the petition was gone months ago! Life's too short! Besides, I can't always 'hide you' on Newsnow now :)

To be honest, Iain's place is full of nobs and spammers now so I dont get on there that much either :D

  12. Someone needs to tell our boys that we are playing chelski or arssholnal every game so we stop playing down to the level of the burnleys of the world and get up the table . COYI

  13. Well Matt, disagreement is healthy providing it doesn't become a war. If you would casre to submit an article taking an opposed view to mine, I'd be happy to run it. I genuinely am in favour of debate and have learnt from some counter arguments!
