Whilst we look over our shoulders, Woy takes on Juve!
Remember those Champions League pipe dreams, with Eggert giving it all that and West Ham fans lapping it up like Galloway in the Big Brother house? Well as we look anxiously over our shoulders after that inept surrender on Saturday, the mighty Fulham, with home gates a fraction of ours, take on Juve tomorrow.
Look at Fulham's team and there is nobody very special. Konchesky, Paintsil and Zamora weren't considered good enough for West Ham. Duff was regarded as a shot bolt at Newcastle. Schwarzer was rescued from the scrap heap. Greening looked no more than ordinary at West Brom. Davies was shown the door by Tottenham. And so it goes on. What have Fulham got that we haven't? Easy. A canny manager with years of experience behind him and an ability to organise a team so that its whole is better than the sum of its parts. Upson, Cole, Diamanti, Parker, Behrami and Green would all walk into Woy's team!
Sullivan and Gold will no doubt be looking across at Fulham green with envy. Maybe, just maybe, there is a lesson to be learned!
The lesson is simple.
ReplyDeleteGet rid of Zola.
Whilst we're still in the premiership
Top quality manager - simple. We had a Liverpool fan on here a few months ago who attacked me after I criticised Rafa Benitez and suggested they'd do much better with Hodgson. I bet he's reconsidering his blind allegiance to Rafa the wanna-be big manager now.
ReplyDelete...and leave George alone. He's one of Scotland's greatest sons :)
I've wanted for a while now to have a classic British manager, no thrills but knows how to build a team. Roy has done a fantastic job, fulhams football is not very fancy but they remain consistent. Wonder if Pardew could do a similar job here.
ReplyDeleteWell said HF, we cannot have a novice inexperienced manager like Zola ever again. I hope he either walks or gets fired soon.
ReplyDelete2012 and replace him with who pray tell?
ReplyDeleteWhy is Zola still there? Anyone could pick a better team and motivate it better than him. I suggest we allow the janitor pick up the team this week or even better let's pick the team at random. Do a lottery and pick eleven players. This way we may get rid of the prospect of having Tomkins in the centre of the defence and Franco leading the attack!
ReplyDelete2012 is too long away, we need a solution now! hehehe
ReplyDeleteGuys, I honestly still think we should keep him a little longer and let him learn. We all know he is not the finished article, but just like with a player who has potential, we should give him longer. I also think he is taking a lot of flack that the players should be.
