Germany's World Cup Bid Kicked In the Ballacks!

Oh dear, what a shame! That thoroughly lovable guy Michael Ballack has been cruelly ruled out of the World Cup courtesy of that shocking Boateng tackle on Saturday. And Boateng is German too isn't he? Wunderbar!

Ballack is already being described as irreplacable in the German press! They were an outside bet for the World Cup anyway but I reckon this kick in the Ballacks has knocked them out of the running altogether. Torres may yet struggle and Fabregas is already out so Spain will not be at full strength either.

If we can keep Rooney fit, we have a real chance!

  1. He took it surprisingly well. Maybe because he'll be spending the time with his wife.

  2. Germany out of the running because they have lost 1 player? Are you serious?! This German squad has plenty incrediby talented young players who are going to bring a new dimension to their game. The likes of Ozil and Schweinsteiger are world class. In fact, this is probably their best squad since they won it in 1990. Their defense is much better than in recent years and they have depth in their squad.

To rule them out already is bold.

  3. Well I'm bold then. Germany without Ballack cannot win this World Cup. There, I've said it!

  4. Same argument with Ronaldo and United. People said they didn't have a chance to win the title without him. Yet they finished 1 point behind and had it not been for very dodgy refereeing in the match at Stamford Bridge between United and Chelsea where Chelsea won 1-0, and where the goal should never have stood, they would have won the title.

  6. Those people were right weren't they? United were reduced to winning the League Cup, a pot even Boro and Tottenham can win! With Ronaldo, United would have won the title by a country mile! Anyway, Germany's goals for column isn't going to be swelled by 11 own goals in the World Cup is it? United were lucky to come as close as they did. And Germany don't have Rooney!

  7. As a staunch Chelsea fan I feel so sorry for Ballack and hope he come back next season to play a major part in winning us the treble. Chelsea we are so proud of you.

  8. Feel sorry for Ballack? Dear God, you Chelsea fans have no soul do you? He's German; it's the World Cup; enough said surely?

  9. No we just love the guy at the bridge you pillock. Anyway the only double you lot will be seeing is double vison when you paupers get relegated next season. What a pointless club west ham are.

  10. oh no, not the fabregas spaniards don't even rate that much :o

Germany will always be underdogs and will always suprise, I wouldn't look much into any of the other countries injuries, they have alot more depth then we do (England, not West Ham....and West Ham)

  11. At least we are A CLUB and not a device for laundering dirty money. Chelsea? My Beautiful Launderette more like! Won the double? Bought it more like!

  12. Good cover for every position except for Rooney.

    "And Germany don't have Rooney!"
"Good cover for every position except for Rooney."

HF, you obviously rate Wayne then?!...albeit sounding a wee bit sycophantic there!
From your first mention of him above, are we to gather that, should Rooney be lost to injury, you don't believe England have the capability to win the World Cup?

I'm wondering what the likes of Gerrard, Lampard, Terry & co would think of that?!
After all...the National side is cherry picked to include only the best that English football has to offer is it not...a footballing 'orchestra' strictly for maestros shall we say?!

Are you saying they're a one-man brass band?!

  15. Cover for left-back? oh and it's Messi against Baines....., cover for right-back? and I mean when johnson is actually playing!

  16. You need at least World Class player to win a World Cup. Rooney is that man for us. Gerrard, Ashley Cole and Lampard all come close. Terry and Ferdinand were also close but don't appear to be so now. To win, we need Rooney, Gerrard and Lampard on the top of their games. Crouch and Lennon are also key players in my opinion, Lennon because of his pace and Crouch becuase he is different and will scare opposition defences. He also has a wonderful knack for scoring goals. Our weaknesses are right back and keeper. I would have taken Neville and Robinson personally.

  17. We have a fairly easy group BUT after that it stinks! We play the 2nd round knock out from the German group (which is a hard group, no easy games in that group). THEN if we get past that lot we will probably play Holland in the qwuarters THEN if we get past that lot probably Brazil in Semi's THEN if we get past that Spain in the final.

Not sure how many countries have had to beat Germany, Holland, Brazil and Spain to win a world cup.

  18. TBI, too many ifs and buts. Brazil won't make it to the semifinals. There's a prediction for you!

  19. chelsea are so fake. back to relegation fights again when money man leaves.

  20. most German football fans are quite pleased the arrogant little money grubber is out even the Germans don't like him

  21. We've got enough alternatives...
I mean, Ballack is no Robben,Ribery or Messi. I'd be much more worried if Lahm got injured. As a West Ham supporter I know the importance of good defenders ;)

  22. The short list

    Avram Grant
    Dave Jones
    Ian Holloway
    Alan Curbishley
    Sam Allardyce

hahaha had to laugh HF - because if you don't get Avram the rest in my opinion are worse than Zola.... shame you didn't give him the chance, because a manager like him with a team playing well could have attracted some of the best players, but because of you and your ilk you'll never know what that feels like, loser!

I'd have Zola (who is a better manager because of last season), with the backing of the board and new players, than any of those on that short-list, and that includes Grant.

  24. Dont be a total knobhead Zola needed to go and Grant will get us playing well if he comes in.

  25. Peter Reid hat has been added to the ring - priceless it gets better - I'd go for Zola too - nice bloke and I reckon he is a better man for last season - mark my words he'll go one to be a great manager and as always the Hammers will be as sick as HF when he looks at himself naked in the mirror.

  26. The only one missing from this joke list is Dave Bassett, ffs!

At one time this club had ambition.
