Rooney Injured!

I don't like to say I told you so...but I told you so! I maintained that Rooney was still carrying that ankle injury from the Bayern Munich game, and today he was taken off with the same ankle playing him up. Don't be surprised if he is out of the tournament!

Yep, sheer coincidence. Wasn't kicked on it, but same ankle. I did an achilles and peronius tendon back in January. I am still playing but in all sorts of pain and there's no way I can spin or turn sharply. I'm conscious of it all the time on the pitch and my first thought, as I receive the ball, is how to adjust my weight properly to avoid the stab of pain.

That's really unfortunate for you HF...you have my sympathy!
But may I suggest you utilise your hockey stick to assist your balance during future run-outs?!!

But Rooney has not been unfit HF. That has been your argument, that he was unfit. If you land/turn awkwardly or take a knock where you have been injured before, then it will obviously hurt more.

You play football? Are you serious? Where?

What did you do to your Achilles? Snap it? Achilles injuries generally happen through fatigue, or if you're a middle-aged man, overweight and haven't exercised for some time ;)

Are you sure you was able to spin and turn sharply before the injury? I was believing everything you said until that bit :)

"I don't like to say I told you so..." ??!! that's what you seem to blog for, you're such a negative berk.

Obviously not to the same degree as Rooney! Look up achilles injuries. The mininum rest period is 6 weeks. Rooney had less than two! He is lame Stani, mark my words.

11.10, you have to be right in the first place to be able to say, "I told you so"!
