Yak In Claret & Blue

Feed the Yak? Well he looks like he's been going to the same diner as Benni McCarthy to me, but the rumours have resurfaced about us signing Yakubu. At £5m, would he represent good value for money? I suppose if Cole can really be sold for £15m, it wouldn't be terrible business.

Who else could we buy? Doyle would be good but I doubt that we could afford him. Pekengese from Portsmouth doesn't score enough goals. Beattie is too old and slow. Kitson isn't good enough. Pavlova would cost too much. Fletcher has been snapped up by Wolves annoyingly. Beckford has joined Everton and probably isn't good enough anyway. Robbie Keane? Would he join us? Would Spurs accept £5m? If the answer to those two questions is yes, I would have him! Carroll? I doubt Newcastle would sell and the boy is trouble unfortunately.

So who else? Ideas on a saucy postcard please.

  2. Ask Steven Taylor. Oh sorry, he can't reply because Carroll broke his jaw after the same woman sent them sex texts. And ask Michael Cook about what happened in the Blu Bambu club. Trial pending to be heard in October. I seem to know more than you!

  4. the yak on hes day is a very very good striker. if we could get him for around 5 million pounds i think that would be a good bit of business for us. i just think hes gone a bit stale at everton and needs a change to kick start hes career. and that would be good for us. hes only 27

  7. The game has changed in the last 15 years. Look at rugby players! Athletes are now precisely that, athletes. And Barnes and Gascoigne were blessed with a lot more skill than Yakubu!

  10. [On a postcard drenched in ketchup...]

Beckford will get goals HF. I think Wolves paid slightly too much for Fletcher.

Grant's managed Yakubu before in Israel. Maybe a manager that understands him so can bring the best out of him. Would be a good buy.

If we get Yakubu then it should be enough if Cole is staying. Cole, McCarthy, Yakubu and Hines. Not sure how much the racists will enjoy that though.

  11. How about if we keep Cole and play Diamanti in his preferred position?

Then we keep extend the search for some other quality strikers?

None on the list would be a good choice for WH.

Henry will be a good addition, but I can't see him coming to UP.

  12. The clubs that would buy him don't really need another striker. I think he will stay due to this unless the situation at the other clubs changes.

Why do we only ever look at bargain Scottish strikers when they come down south..?
