Is the West Ham job a poisoned chalice for managers?

With Turds still floating around hoping for a job and Zola, despite his brilliance, still out of work, it is beginning to look as if managing West Ham is something of a poisoned chalice. Pardew appeared destined for a great future, until Eggert knifed him, and subsequently has found himself slipping down the divisions. Roeder, of course, has been a disaster where ever he has been employed, and if you go back to Macari and Bonds, their time managing West Ham effectively ended their managerial careers. Even John Lyall struggled when he resurfaced at Ipswich.

Only 'Arry has managed to carve out a successful career after leaving the Boleyn. He is not everybody's cup of tea but you have to wonder where we might be now, had he been left in charge.

In Administration probably!

Can Avram survive the curse or will his stint with us go the way of all the others?

  1. Where would we be now if 'Arry had been left in charge HF?
Well rather than the court of administration as you suggest...we might be in a court alright...yeah, The Old Bailey answering a whole plethora of far more serious questions!!!

  2. I agree with the previous comment. West Ham would have been in administration if Harry and co. remained at Upton Park. Good riddance I say. We don't need the likes of Harry. Sooner or later he will bring Spuds down too. I am glad they have extended his contract. It gives him time to bring them down.

  3. Fortunately for Spurs, the England job will come around for old Harry before he has a chance to take them down. Harry the Mercenary is loyal to no one.

I will have fun watching him get found out in the Champion's League this season though.

  4. Why do we even care about Tottenham? They've been out of our league for ages now, cut the bullshit and most of you will probably agree. Levy is not stupid, he somehow buys big, ruins players, sells them even bigger, very clever man. He wont let Harry put Tottenham in debt. I say screw Tottenham, it's Newcastle, Stoke, Sunderland and Bolton etc who we should care about.
