Sullivan Speaks From The Bottom Of His Heart

Very impressive interview with the Sulliedman in the Evening Standard. Once again Sullivan confirms his love for the club and stresses that he and Goldilocks are running a different ship from HMS Birmingham City. I like the bit about still needing two or three players and it is good to hear him say that Avram is captain of the ship when it comes to transfer deals.

I suspect the Yakubu deal sums up what is going on. Grant identified the Everton man as a target and the Davids bid as high as they were prepared to go. When Everton refused to do business, Sullivan thought "Bollocks to that" and slapped in a derisory offer to show them how stupid they were not to deal at the original price. Going public with a £2million valuation for Yakubu was hilarious. It had, "Poke that you Scouse cnuts" written all over it!

I won't plunder the interview too much, but I will say that instead of talking out of his bottom as usual, Sullivan appeared to be talking out of the bottom of his heart. Or am I just going soft?

Anyway, for those who don't live in London, here is the link. Read and enjoy!

One last thought though, I'm not sure looking at that paunch that David is in any position to comment on McCarthy's extra weight!

  1. Hi Fanno,

I still think that having Gold & Sullivan at the helm is a good thing - and they have been the best thing at the hammers for many years... They have that east end street wise attitude...:-)

  2. Hi Chris, me too. There will be ups and downs, but basically I think they are good news. I like the way they have backed Avram's judgement so far. Excited about the new season and do not have the same fears I had this time last year. I wish we'd sign a specialist right back though!
