Diamond Geezer a star at Bescia!

Well wouldn't you know it? Diamanti is suddenly looking a 24 carat diamond now he is back in Italy. A beautiful free kick secured Nani's men victory in the latest Seria A round of games, and his chairman is suddenly comparing our ex nutter to Baggio, no less!

Whilst we scratch around, desperately looking for a goalscorer, it is frustrating in the extreme to see last season's second highest scorer doing what he does best, after we all but gave him away to the Italians. We still await an explanation from Sullivan and Gold for a deal that left 99% of Hammers fans utterly incredulous. Don't we deserve that?

  1. he was my favourite player last season, and now he's out.. we need him now more than ever so, this is the right moment to have a Sullivan&Gold - explanation.

  2. Couldn't care less that he's gone. Next.

  3. I sit somewhere between Ike and Anon here. He struck me as the one truly creative and unpredictable player in a team full of mediocrity, Parker excepted. Selling him for under £2m was crackers.
That said, he's gone. Explanations from Gold and Sullivan - worthless - are not going to change that. So, we move on.

  4. Still awaiting an explanation as to why he was left out so often toward the end of last season.

  5. Worthless? What if the reason is that we couldn't afford the stage payments which have been accepted by Brescia instead? What if Daprela went for the same reason? Wouldn't it be good to know for sure that it was financial considerations that forced the sales and that the transfer fee was much larger than it appeared to be?

  6. ...what if it came out that we didn't actually own them and that we entered into yet more 3rd party agreements? Was Nani Diamanti and Daprela's Joorabchian? That would explain why they were quickly moved on for peanuts.

  7. Wasn't there a rumour at the time we bought Diamante and Daprela, that Nani personally part-financed the deals? If so, surely there would be some contractual obligation in these 2 players contracts to Nani... now I'm speculating here, but wouldn't he technically become a 3rd party interest when he left the club?

Perhaps this is the reason for Sullivan's and Gold silence on the matter. They've certainly not graced us with any believable explanation, and they certainly don't want another fine for £5m or Hull doing a Sheffield Utd... After all you could argue that Diamante's goals helped keep us up when it came to the wire late last season.

  8. Unfortunately it seems as if he was one of the very few that we could move on.

  10. Spot on Stani. And when we were defending, he buried his head in the sand and stuck his arse up in the air too!

Interesting that two people have come up with the third party ownership idea independently. As if Duxbury would be involved in anything dodgy like that! Perish the thought!

  11. Move on... you have so much trouble letting go and moving on. I hope the wife never divorces you, you'd be a bloody nightmare.
