The Paranoia of West Ham Fans is Pathetic!

What is it with our fans? Why this huge chip on the shoulder, this pathetic "Nobody loves us, everybody's out to get us" complex? It is embarrassing. It is humiliating. It is so damn childish!

Take this post from "Fareham Hammer" on the Org:

"It may be quiet on here,but it's even quieter amongst the media whores, denied their daily fix of anti West Ham diatribe must be driving them round the bend! How sad must you be to forge a living on the back of a pathological hatred of West Ham United football club. Lies ,bending of truths, a dig at OUR GREAT CLUB at EVERY opportunity, absolutely determined to see us relegated and face financial Armaggeddon. I've got news for the desperadoes. Forget it. You might as well go into detox and clean up your acts, you pathetics!
Yes we are starting to gel, not there yet...but come on, it's starting to look exciting, and the football is not too shabby either. Again not quite the carpet football we, the disciples of the Academy of football, so cherish, but a VAST improvement on the dross we've had to endure during the last few seasons. I 've said it many times before and I'll say it again, as the results improve and the quieter the media whores become, the feel good factor will reverberate round the club and, as a result, everybody associated with the club will be more relaxed, confidence will spread to the team, then watch this team REALLY turn it on. A couple of teams are going to get a real pasting ,remember you heard it from Fareham first! Saturday is Saggy Chops and his mob, I'm up for it! You're up for it! The team's up for it ! Our chairmen are up for it !.Oh YES WE CAN !! He's just a wheeler dealer !!.We're more than a football club,we're a way of life COYI !!"

Oh dear God! This is the man who just a  few weeks back was forecasting relegation and Armageddon himself because of Sullivan and Gold. This is a man who was terming anybody posting anything positive a "happy clapper"!  What a turn around!

Let's get things straight, this paranoia is pathetic. The media report. Match of the Day do not show West Ham last because Lineker hates the club, but because our games are, more often than not, rather run of the mill affairs. The press do not have an anti West Ham agenda: in fact, the response to our victory over Sunderland was extremely positive.

The truth is, we have been a bad news story for a long time now. That's not the fault of "media whores", it's the fault of poor management in the Boardroom and on the training field. When the club is run properly, we will receive positive press - simple. To secure positive press, all we have to do is win more games than we lose.

My message to all the paranoid fools who seek to delude themselves and others, is grow up. And please cut the attempts to sound Churchillian. It may buy a few "Great post mate" replies from thirteen year old fans, but it is largely toe curling stuff!

So, a little perspective: we played well for 45 minutes against Stoke and for  the best part of 90 minutes against Sunderland. That doesn't make us world beaters but it does mean that we are not as bad as we were all beginning to fear. Avram is not media friendly and that will not help our profile in the media but we do have media whores at the club, in the form of Sullivan and Gold, who will ensure that we are regularly on the back pages - and because they spout crap 90% of the time, the coverage will often be negative. That's not the fault of the journalists is it?

  1. I was gonna say it's small mindedness but I guess we're all guilty of small mindedness now and again aren't we HF?

  2. Can't believe u got through a post without an anti Parker comment. Maybe just maybe u r starting to realise the vast majority r right and u r wrong, but I doubt it!

  3. Why are you having a pop at a fellow hammer for trying to cultivate a bit of a siege mentality? That kind of thinking can be quite effective when you're at the bottom of the table and all need to be pulling in the same direction. You should leave off your fellow fans HF and turn your persistently negative attentions elsewhere.

  4. Parker is playing very well. I hope he keeps it up!

    2100 Don't kid yourself. It doesn't matter what West Ham fans say on the net, that ain't going to win us any points. The mentality is crassly stupid and speaks of a club and fans who are always trying to deflect the blame elsewhere rather than accept responsibility. Honesty is a useful start point if you want to put things right and start on the road to recovery. Pretending others are to blame won't help!

  5. Parker's playing well isn't he HF?

  6. I bet you're well chuffed Parker signed that new contract. He's not a mini-man, he's echoing the commitment of a full season ticket holder.

  7. Not sure what that last comment meant. I am well chuffed Parker is playing so well. I was happy with a contract that kept him tied to the club for another two years on a lower wage.

  8. Very disappointed with your hatred towards another west ham fan with an opinion. So very low of you! Your post proves one valid point, you just gotta read the org. Whats your handle these days good buddy on the org?

  9. It is not aimed at one, that is an example. It is the "they all hate us" paranoia that is the issue, good buddy on the Org.

    Who do you think I am on the Org? Surely it is obvious?

  10. And, by the way, the members of the Org have been much more insulting towards Fareham - they have called him a Spud! Hang on, isn't that what they called Fanno? Odd that! ; }

  11. And Fareham is spot on when it comes to Robert Green! ; }

  12. ...yeh, I'm just thankful God gave me the ability to notice when I am though, and that he hasn't made the word 'sorry' such a difficult one to say.

  13. Yea your right, Fareham does get some stick on the org. Personally I think he is a true patriot of the claret & blue. I love your blog, just didn't like the way you hung Fareham out to dry. Up the hammers.

  14. Agree with your post for the most part however someone at The Mirror really had it out for us last season.

  15. Whoever wrote this article needs to gain some passion for west ham. It's an up and down club (unfortunately mostly down) so don't be surprised when our team starts to play some good football, that peoples mentality changes. It's just their passion shining through, something you obviously dont have. Twat.

  16. Is that an apology for sugggesting I was lying mate? Thanks. ; ]

    In truth, I rate Fareham's opinions. I'm wondering if all the stick he has received has made him court popularity with his recent posts which are in the style of the happy clappers he was slamming. I haven't hung him out to dry, he wrote the post not me. If we go public, we set ourselves up to be shot at don't we? The post is just a perfect example of the paranoid garbage that I am addressing in this article. I don't know Fareham and no name is used. It is an internet persona so it cannot be a personal attack. I'm sure he's a lovely guy.

  17. What? why are posting comments from another blog? what's that about? I don't see KUMB doing that. I don't see WHTID doing that.

    Why do you feel the need to do that? seeing as you set up the wehatethegamesgonecrazy website I wouldn't be surprised if Fareham Hammer isn't you.

    He certainly writes like you and sounds very much like you. Same negativity.

    You are a weird one that's for sure.

  18. Still no admission or guilt then. Parker has been playing well for over 12 months now - fact! You are squirming away from saying, as you should "I was so wrong, so blind and I would like to say sorry to Scotty and every whufc fan I offended, annoyed and even disgusted"

  19. Nope, you know what it is, just like you know everything else HF.

  20. I do think the last couple of years one way or another have had a depressing effect on the fans. There does n't seem to be the same electric atmosphere at the home games like there was in the Alan Pardew years.
    The fact that London derbies don't get sold out recession or no recession is a classic indication.
    Hopefully the team will get onto a decent run of successes, and I think it will, then the position will change.

  21. Well, this site is pretty unique isn't it 0849. I will leave KUMB and WHTID to sing from the same hymn sheet; me, I do it my way! Me and Fareham one in the same? That would mean I wrote something on the Org to criticise on here. Would I do something like that? Only a Spud would be that mendacious surely? ; }

    Stani, really! That reply was almost feminine! Get back to what we are arguing about eh? Zola was a disaster as our manager. Discuss.

    0917, what do I have to feel guilty about? We have one point from 5 games in the Prem. What good has Parker done us so far? He scored against Oxford. Big deal. He scored against Chelsea but we lost 3-1. He scored against Stoke and we got a point. Big deal!

    He is playing well, let's see if he stays fit, avoids suspension and keeps performing at his present level. Too early to say we were right to keep him. If we go down, retaining him will look stupid. Time will tell. I hope that, come the end of the season, I am hailing the decision to retain him a stroke of genius. I hope he proves me wrong. Why wouldn't I as a West Ham fan?

  22. Nice Headline HF, doesn't sound like media whore verbiage does it ?

    Straight up question: Why do you keep up the Charade that you are NOT Fareham Hammer ? A slow newsday indeed, but to post your own counter thoughts from another sight looks very odd to those of us who know your ramblings.

    Glad to see Scotty staying and playing so well, that must hurt eh HF ?

    PS: Schitzophrenia is treatable with appropriate medication, ask your doctor next time you see him.

  23. LOL 1906 My ticker is in perfect working order at the moment thanks. No stint in hospital for me. Not for years. Mind you, 13 years back they did tell me that I needed a bypass operation but that was all a false alarm. I told them I supported West Ham and that immediately explained the chest pains!

    I am delighted to see Scotty playing so well although, if he hits Tottenham players with his first 5 passes, as he did at Stoke, we will be a goal behind before we know it! Hope he makes a point to 'Arry though. Scotty must still feel pretty angry that the whealer dealer pulled out at the last moment and signed Van Der Vaart instead!
