Back in the Bottom Three - And it's good news!

So we're back in the bottom three but actually, it's good news! I didn't really fancy Fulham to go down, so their victory over West Brom, although bad news in the short term, is probably excellent news for our survival chances. West Brom are beginning to slide. Burnley enjoyed a good first half to the season last year and still went down. The season before, Hull looked so so safe, but only just clung on to Premiership survival by their finger tips. And, of course, in the Great Escape season, Shafting United looked home and dry before divine justice struck!

The Birmingham win was perhaps less obviously to our advantage, but I've kept saying that Blackpool will be sucked back down into it, and this may be their kick in the bollocks that I have expected all season. Of course Birmingham winning isn't great news given some rather important up coming fixtures but I expect Wolves to pull clear and, again, expect Birmingham to cling on. So Wigan, West Brom and Blackpool would do me nicely!

Now, can we get a result at Newcastle and ease the tension a little?

  1. Yeah, I really have mixed feelings about all this...it's all very close and it's gonna be pretty intense. I really hope We play the way we did against Wolves...perhaps replace Cole with Obinna, who probably would ahve scored half the chances Cole missed against Wolves? :P COYI!!!

  2. Scarf HF, it was the scarf, responsible for our recent form! Sack Grant and hire his scarf!

  3. Like it was Allison's lucky fedora, Clough's lucky green top, Graham Gooch's lucky bat, Jack Russel's lucky touching of the stumps and many, many others...

  4. Wolves pull clear? LMFAO. they've got Chelsea. Man City Man Utd , Arsenal and Liverpool in their following 6 fixtures. Can't see them getting anything at Bolton either. What do you know eh?

  5. You're right HF, it's all God's will. These superstitions are silly.

  7. To an atheist, the way that is written is a gift:

"You're right HF, it's all God's will. These superstitions are silly."

I will take it that the second sentence is a judgement on the first mate!

Mind you, if it is all God's will, you can't blame Grant, Sullivan, Gold, Green, Ben Haim, Noble or anybody ese for that matter. If we are going down, Allah has willed it! What's the bloody point of sport on that basis exactly?

In fact, Allah willed the Pakistan team to take bribes and to spot fix apparently!

Facetious perhaps but doesn't it kind of highlight a degree of absurdity?
