Liverpool's Bid of £35million for Carroll is Madness!

What the hell is going on? I know they are set to pocket £40million for Torres, but £35million for Carroll? Really?

Yes the guy is good. Yes he will be an England player into the future. But he could also be the front man in a real life Vinny Jones Mean Machine. He is a bastard. And bastards don't change. Dalglish may believe he can manage him but he will come unstuck sooner or later. Watch that space because Carroll will be head butting the bridge of a nose in it soon!

Assuming, of course, that Newcastle part with him. But can they really turn that sort of offer down? £35million for a player who has scored a grand total of 14 Premiership goals?

It puts our debts into perspective! The total money owed stands at two Any Carrolls and one Scott Parker. Or three Darren Bents and one Robbie Keane! Or 3500 Benni McCarthys!

It looked as if sanity had returned to the transfer market - outside of Manchester City. But not now. Now the game has well and truly gone crazy all over again!

  1. This the time to off-load Carlton Cole! 4 hours still left! Can we persuade Pardew to pay for him any good money when he wouldn't even pick him in the team when he was the boss at West Ham? Not really. Back to the real world. We have 7 strikers and no good full backs. Brilliant!

  2. It's ridiculous!

First of all Carroll is NOT worth 35m. He's certainly talented, I give him that, but 35 million? I would struggle to offer 10m for him!

Back to the transfer window our end, we need to let 1 or 2 go and hopefully Ilunga and McCarthy are sold. Moving those two on along with Kovac would top off a decent month of dealings for us I'd say.

Ilunga had an impressive debut season but since he got injured and returned he's been terrible. McCarthy... well, do I need to say anything else? As for Kovac, he will have a simple game here or there were he will get 6 out of 10, but other than that he is useless. He gives the ball away all the time, too weak when going in for a challenge, and jumps up to head the ball and by the time he returns to the ground the oppositon have already made 3 passes. He's a joke and needs to moved on.

Bridge...O'Neil...Ba...Keane...I'm happy with how we've bought. Let's just hope the other 3 disappear!

  3. http://www.whufcboxoffice.com/ mini season tickets now available for mini men...... or you could watch every home game at AC Milan for a whole season for the same price. English Premier League - the games really has gone crazy.

  4. I do rate both Bridge and Jacobsen. But they are not nearly enough what we need in those positions. In any case, it won't be long before one or both of them are injured and out for a few months. But, why do we need 6-7 forwards???!!! Hello,... an even bigger problem than not scoring enough goals, is that we cannot defend; even when we go ahead by one or two goals we still manage to lose or draw. We need to build a team not just get more and more forwards. Remember, how Benny Macarthy was supposed to solve all our problems?

  5. A lot of young players burst on to the scene scoring a lot of goals for a season, then collapse under the pressure of expectation, money, fame
and a changed social life. The game has gone crazy when 35 million is paid out for an unproved player like Carrol who as HF quite rightly suggests is a nasty piece of work.

  8. Yes, I agree that today makes your blog very relevant to the times we live in. The game has really gone crazy!

There should be a ceiling on how much clubs can spend on players. Just as there is in the NBA. That would put all of them on an equal footing and make the League interesting for all. As it is now, money talks. Whoever, spends the more money, also wins the trophies. It's simple!

  9. I'm sorry but Andy Carroll will be one hell of a player. I do agree that the money is over the odds but he is a very gifted player and around better players than those at Newcastle I think he will thrive. Hopefully this will spell some sort of demise for Newcastle.

  10. Possibly around better players he won't look so good. At this point last season he had scored three goals in the championship. I accept he has had a great first half of the season in the premiership but it is only half a season of success. He is a very big lad will he physically manage the strains and stresses of the premiership, nobody knows it is a complete gamble of 35 million, absolutely crazy
