Carlton Cole replaces Obinna, suggesting that one has recovered sufficiently from injury, whilst the other is shattered from his efforts against Everton. That's the only way the "rotation" makes sense. In the case of Stanislas, I suspect Grant picked a team to compete with Everton's 5 man midfield and considered Junior too big a risk defensively.
What is true of Everton, is true of Wolves, however. They have five in midfield and will look to control the game through numerical superiority. Jarvis and Hunt will be a threat, springing out of that 5 man midfield encampment.
I remain unconvinced both by Sears on the right and Stanislas on the left personally; I hope they both prove me wrong. Rumours of a Behrami return were very wide of the mark, of course. That would require commitment to the cause! The guy is eyeing his flight out of here, so why ruin a good Christmas and New Year's break exactly?
To say I am nervous is the understatement of the...well 14 hour old year actually! I have a bad feeling about this one. I hope I am wrong! Obinna and Noble are on the bench so if Avram needs to change things, there are options. Barrera is also there, and the mighty Boa! No sign of Faubert though. Avram clearly considered his performance against Everton every bit as bad as I did! £6m and the guy can't get into the side ahead of a kid who can't score in the Championship and a centre back playing out of position!
Look at the composition of today's team in terms of the managers who signed them and it reads:
Pardew; Grant, Academy, Turds, Pardew; Academy, Zola, Turds, Academy; Grant, Pardew.
All that money spent and only 2 Turds players make it in for this crrucial game, whilst there is only one Zola recruit, and he is there very much by default!
The actual team reads:
Green; BenHaim, Tomkins, Upson, Gabbidon; Sears, Kovac, Parker, Stanislas; Cole, Piquionne.
It ain't a great side is it? I expect the Wolves are licking their lips in anticipation! But hang on, is that a bird, or a plane? No, it's Super Sears!
Noble shouldve started then take him off when he gets tired as with kovac there parker is left to deal with 3 players because of there 4-5-1 although this team is set up 4-4-2 and zola tryed setting up 4-5-1 last year and we got demolished
ReplyDeleteLOL The argument resurfaces! What do you say Stani? Should we start with Noble? LOL
ReplyDeleteNeed to use Sears especially and Stan on the wing.
ReplyDeleteGetting them two into the game is key. They will push Wolves back and offer pace and dynamism.
No, Noble was injured, he is coming back from injury. Big difference.
ReplyDeleteWould you agree that Gabbidon has been our best player so far HF?
ReplyDeleteSome good skill and hold up play from Cole. Should have done better with the finish but playing well.
Parker needs to stop taking floated corners or stop taking completely.
By thee way the 1st comment was by me but my thing screwed up and no gabbs has not been our best but hes done well
ReplyDelete14:58 LOL why LOL - of course he should have started. I know a damn site more than you do.
