Well said Martin Samuels in the Daily Mail! I quote:
"Preston North End had three Manchester United players on loan - until they sacked manager Darren Ferguson.
His dad, Sir Alex Ferguson, instantly recalled Ritchie de Laet and Josh King, and the third, Matty James, is back in Manchester having treatment on an injury and under pressure not to return.
Ferguson's friend Tony Pulis, manager of Stoke City, then ordered an early recall for another two Preston loanees, Michael Tonge and Danny Pugh, both former United youth players.
And there is the loan system in all its shoddy, conniving glory. A glorified old pal's act in which one club maintain influence over, or are influenced by, another, through means that fly against every concept of integrity and fair play.
As it turns out, Manchester United and Stoke's players can't have been all that good because Preston are bottom of the Championship.
De Laet, Pugh, Tonge and King all started Ferguson's final game in charge, in which Preston lost 3-1 at home to Middlesbrough; but suppose the club was mid-table?
United and Stoke's players could have been the difference between survival and relegation. Even now, they may be the difference between Preston still being in touch - they are six points behind 21st-placed Sheffield United with a game in hand - or utterly cut adrift.
The decisions to recall the loaned players may now condemn Preston to relegation by weakening the quality and strength of their squad.
How can football have rules governing third-party interference, yet still allow this?"
How ironic that Shafting United are the immediate beneficiaries of all this, their relegation cause being helped by the spiteful weakening of Preston North End. Of course, there is another way of looking at this. How disgraceful would it have been if Preston were in the running for promotion on the back of an Old Pal's Act from Sir Alex Ferguson and his mates?
There's also a parenting issue here. Whatever happened to letting your kids stand on their own two feet and letting them make their own way in life? How can Ferguson feel any pride in his son's achievements if he pulls so many strings for him? Was there a phone call to the Preston chairman ahead of the appointment promising half a team of loanees if Daddy's little boy was given the manager's job?
Of course, if the friendship of Ferguson and Pulis is as strong as this suggests, it brings into question whether there is third party influence in the Prem itself. Can we feel safe about the conduct of Pulis and Stoke if Man Utd need a result to win the Prem and Stoke have nothing to play for? Well, Ferguson and Curbishley were good mates too weren't they? And look what happened on the last day of the season in the Great Escape year!
Third Party Influence? You either have a rule or you don't! West Ham should put together a case to get the ruling over Tevez overturned or to get others brought to book in the same way.
What the hell has this to do with the blades ? Cheat fc looking for a excuse admit you cheated
ReplyDeleteWhat's it got to do with Shafting United? You're so shit that even with the £25m payment, you're still struggling to avoid the drop to the old Third Division! Still, it just proves the principle of sewage treatment farms. Given time, shit sinks to the bottom!
ReplyDeleteComin from a hammer your club been scraping out of relegation for ages now . and don't winge about your club having to pay compensation for shafting us. its west hams fault united are strugglin in the first place cos they have to cheat to survive . mugs
ReplyDeleteI hope that Wednesday win promotion to further rub it into Sh*ff Utd when they go down to League One, bunch of whining twats, can't wait to see them tonked at Exeter and Carlisle next season.
ReplyDeleteAnd it was 18 million idiot. that's why we got that much. to cover our expenses for being relegated unfairly because of your stupid cheating Cockney club
ReplyDelete£18m, for being shit? Liverpool played their reserve team at Fullham, that's why you lot went down. That and the fact that you were shit over the last quarter of the season. You weren't relegated because of West Ham, you were relegated because you failed to finish above Fulham and Wigan!
ReplyDeleteUnited won't get relegated. we can beat any club in that league just having a rough time at the min with a threadbare squad seeing as we don't have the money to spend on players as we had to let our players go to compensate from being relegated. cos west ham are cheating southern Fucks
ReplyDeleteJust like west ham over the whole of the season every season then. shit. bottom of premiership every season . see you in championship next season and say hello to the bbc while your at it
ReplyDeleteWest ham were caught twice cheating with Tevez .They paid for it in court although escaping a points deduction which would have been more appropriate,
ReplyDeleteFerguson fielded a weak team against West Ham in order to secure the deal for Tevez .
That is now no secret. They keep getting away with these deals
Looks to me like there is only one set of whining fans that can't let it go.
ReplyDeleteYou lost the court case coz you cheated end of story.
Fatty Samuels need to come up with a new subject to fill his column with...boring bog roll.
add in bobby zamora finshed our top goal scorer that year and he scored important goals against blackburn arsenal otherwise thats 6 points oh what about rob greens world class game agianst arsenal aswell sheffield unoted are a bunch of scum who shpuld be paying west ham our mone yback then that gets 20 mil wiped off our debt and the ycan go bust for all anybody cares
ReplyDeleteDirty cheating scammers, we will be seeing you next season in the championship. Paybacks a bitch isn't it?
ReplyDeleteall you had to do was beat Wigan at home, you went down cos you're shit, and as for calling us cheats, you broke exactly the same rule with Kabba, in fact yours was worse as you had direct influence over the team selection of a relegation rival.
ReplyDeleteI'll laugh when you get relegated, it'll be Karma.
Towards the bottom. But there's always water just about the shit in a sewage plant. The true shit finishes in the bottom three and sinks without trace. You couldn't even bounce back with the unmerited pay off. But then shit don't bounce does it?
ReplyDeleteWow Samuel is so obsessed by our club and the morons from West Sham follow blindly follow him.
ReplyDeleteI really do hope this is not a general trait with your fans as they are not all idiots are they.
SAMUEL.. let it go, your club cheated and got caught FACT - stop trying to deflect this in our direction!!!
Good luck to the real West Ham fans.
UTB
We have our various factions mate, but one thing we are almost all united on is out utter contempt for Sheffield United.
ReplyDeleteWell as you seem to be the spokesman for WHU then the deluded sad view that you share is to be pitted.
ReplyDeleteI really do feel sorry for your genuine fans.
Discussion over!
UTB
Good luck in the old Third Division.
ReplyDeleteHere they are again the blade stalkers!,the same cowards who ban you from their fans forum deludedmad. No doubt on instructions from the man who has spent a life time on the run from her majesty's goverment ,hiding away in Brussels to avoid paying taxes ,the one time Jesus Christ of Bramall Lane &i say ONE TIME as their is a palace revolution going on at the Lane as the 'disciples' have been calling for his head, calling him all SORTS of things ,screaming OUT !!Of course im referring to the pathological liar himself Kevin McCabe, the man who masterminded the biggest illegal heist in history, who prostituted football's soul. Before i even present my case i would like to ask Sheffield United supporters this. What was the difference between Tevez being on loan from MSI at Manchester United and being on loan from MSI whilst at West Ham?.Are you seriously tryng to tell me that Man United had any say on whether they wanted to keep him or not?.Surely that great suitor of morale justice &fairness in sport, Kevin McCabe should of sued Manchester United for £30 million as well ?
ReplyDeleteThe owner of this blog wishes to disassociate himself from any allegations made against Mr McCabe! That said, Fareham makes some good points and with hiis heart, and the time it takes for the legal wheels to grind, is probably safe from the threat of any legal action! Every cloud mate, every cloud!
ReplyDeleteWest Ham - lost the court case, still in the Prem. Northern monkeys - won the court case, staring down the barrel of league 2.
ReplyDeleteBwahahahaaaa
Didn't we settle out of court in the end? Another Duxbury cock up!
ReplyDeleteYou mean to say it wasn't Zola's fault HF? :)
ReplyDeleteHe hadn't joined at that point. Otherwise it might have been! ; }
ReplyDeleteBrother Fanno !.You should just have a quick glance at Bladesmad &you'll see how the 'disciples' are deserting the one time Jesus Christ of Bramall Lane !.Just like Thatcher's cabinet did 20 years ago...one by one,Maggie said it was "treachery with a smile on the face ".History repeating itself ..treachery with a smile on it's face down at Bramall Lane from his OWN disciples !,only THIS time the smile is on the face of every Hammers supporter.A simple message to the Blades in the words of Ponitus Pilate :"What has been said has been said, what has been written has been written,it is OVER ".
ReplyDeleteBilly Sharp, east end hero...
ReplyDeleteHe was born though HF. Go on, blame him.
ReplyDeleteI think you are confusing my attitude to Zola with yours to Grant. I welcomed Zola's appointment and backed him for 16 months!
ReplyDeletePlayed Points
ReplyDelete21 Sheff Utd 25 26
22 Crystal Palace 25 25
23 Scunthorpe 23 23
24 Preston 24 19
How far away from the drop were Sheffield United going in to the last month of THAT Premiership season!
ReplyDeleteIndeed Brother Fanno !.We were treated to the sight of a grinning Neil Warnock on sky after they had beaten us 3-0 WITH Tevez in the team telling all &sundry "The PL is the place to be ".He thought they were SAFE !.NO mention of third party 'influence' WHATSOEVER !,they were so CONVINCED they were safe they decided to FIX the result against Wigan in order to help their mate Dave Whelan ,a man who Knows a thing or two about breaking rules, as his beloved Wigan Warriors got docked points for breaching the rugby league salary cap, stay in the cash cow which is the PL .No Sir the illegal heist only started AFTER the grubby little deed BACKFIRED !.Of course we had the little pantomine at Parliament where the Blades used little innocent schoolkids as pawns in McCabes cash heist ,while he bleated on about 'justice' &'fairness' in sport .But the wheel turns &its poetic justice that his one time 'disciples'have turned &the message to a man to McCabe ?.Out !Out !Out ! .We are more than a football club,we're a way of life !COYI !!
ReplyDeleteMe posting article after article ridiculing Grant? There is no confusion there on my part.
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't you realise for 16 months that Zola was crap by the way? By the same logic, it will take you 16 months to realise what Grant is too right? So, why not just take my word for it and save yourself the trouble.
It is called giving a guy a fair chance Stani. Once he has had that chance, you reach a judgement. You have wanted Grant out from the very off for some reason.
ReplyDelete20:41 hahahaha yes why indeed - why didn't he notice? hahahahaha
ReplyDeleteThe reason is that he has no credentials. He also has no managerial or coaching abilities, which was not only highlighted by Chelsea players, but confirmed by your avoidance at mentioning any when questioned.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing wrong with calling something right the first time around/straight away HF. You don't have to give every manager one and a half years before making up your mind!
Lol you do love to hear the sound of your own voices don't yer
ReplyDeleteBack in the bottom 3
hahaha
Mighty hammers - don't make me laugh!
What a load of rubbish.
ReplyDeleteFirst the article says that despite all those players playing they were bottom of the league, so really they cant be that great, secondly isnt it Stoke and Manchester United in the wrong here (If anyone really, I mean these two clubs own the players mentioned and are entitled to deploy them as they wish).
What any of this has to do with Sheffield United apart from a sad hack's grudge is beyond any sane person.
Another pathetic and lame excuse to try and drag Sheff Uniteds name through the mud.
22:02 even if we did go down which we wont. we still wont be playing sheff utd next season because your going down haha. enjoy your trips to exeter and carlisle next season. sheff utds true level.
