Fingers Crossed for Matty Etherington

I know he blotted his copybook when he took a dive to win the penalty in the quarter final but at least he'd had a bet on himself scoring it, ensuring Green duly made the save! It speaks volumes for the attitude of Etherington and the other Stoke boys that they gave their all yesterday in what was, for them, a meaningless fixture against Wolves, risking injury in the process.

That 3-0 hammering of Wolves was a huge result for us and it would be a crying shame if Etherington were now to be ruled out of the Final against Unreal City. Fingers crossed that the injury isn't too bad and Matty makes it to Wembley. We should never have sold him and have never replaced him on the left of our midfield. Why did he go? Because of Zola's stupid obsession with 4-3-3.

  1. Speaks volumes for their manager HF! Ours can't fire our players up even in do or dies, forget meaningless games.

  2. ...and what you done with Ironside HF?

...I'm not asking because it's me, by the way.

  3. I've no idea. Seems he has a spoke in his wheel chair. Perhaps the other anonymouses ganged up on him and threatened him for supporting the Satanic Spud.

Hang on, Satanic, Stani, I've just noticed. Have we got something Salman Rushdiish going on here?

  4. Hahaaa. I've thought of this before. The link is even better in Urdu/Punjabi where the word satan is shaytaan, and someone who does satanic things would shaytaani. Rhymes with Stani!

But I'm more angelic, of course.

Do you regard Ironside's disappearance/surrender as a victory HF?

  5. I'm indifferent to be honest. It might simply indicate that I am becoming less controversial in my old age; or alternatively he just has to accept I am right. Probably the latter because I am.

  6. HF what can we do to get chris Houghton in? I know it's off topic and not the time but he is the one.

  7. If Chris Hughton is the answer, it is a bloody stupid qustion mate.

  8. HF, I need to come to the defense of my USA brother.

If we do go down, which Im pretty certain we will, he is absolutely my choice to succeed The Fraud. He knows that division and I betcha he is DYING for another shot at this. I think he would be our best shot to come back up in year one.

We sold Etherington because he needed to get out of London. The place was killing him. Sucks for us, but thats life. As for not replacing him, cant argue with you there.

  9. And by the way, we have sacked our chief scout Roger Cross. Its theorized it is a cost cutting measure since we are likely down.

And he reportedly had nothing to do with Benni and Dyer.

    The vultures are circling.

  10. Am I mistaken in the recollection that, like a number of players who play for us, Matty had kind of run out of steam at the point at which he left? Seem to recall him losing his mojo, accusations of massive gambling addiction in the general Pardew aftermath from which, arguably, the club has never recovered?

  15. Yes Houghton Allardyce or Oneil, but do you really expect them or any top coach to come to this mess? Houghton is a better answer than Grant or would you disagree?
