Half Time Man City 2 West Ham 1 - The Sheep Bites Back!
Well, to be fair, there wasn't a lot we could do about the first goal, except I'm always surprised at the huge void we leave outside our box at corners. Mind you, not many goals have been smashed in from outside the box against us - probably because it is so easy to pick a pass into our six yard box!
When the second goal went in, on 14 minutes, with Upson limping and Gabbidon dreaming, it looked like City were on for ten. Now we might keep them down to three, four or five!
Keane missed a sitter. Lovely ball through from Specs, Keane one on one with Hart and he finished like Cole! Then, a minute later, Lescott handled a Hitz cross into the box (from deep), ball broke to Ba and he finished like a striker! 2-1, game on!
City have looked nervous defending corners which gives us hope but Toure, Silva and Johnson have far too much space when the Unreal boys have the ball. Once again, the failure to designate somebody to hold is costing us.
Upson is off. Well, two goals down he didn't fancy it did he? To be fair, da Costa has looked more assured than Tomkins so far.
And for the worst pass of the year, see Boa's attempt to play in Ba. Overhit and misdirected! That was a real chance to equalise until Boa did what Boa does best - cocked up!
Did you hear Jamie redknapp after the game. Scott Parker could of played today. Probably a good move by avram so that he is it for the last three games but y wasn't he on the bench instead of at Chelsea. Could
ReplyDeleteOf made the difference when we where 2-1 down.
Boa was our best player today. I am not surprised you don't get how much strength and body he adds to our midfield line. Yes, he occasionally makes a bad pass and he could score more goals but I can't think of no-one in our squad who can do the work that Boad does in the middle of the field.
ReplyDeleteFor me the most surprising was that Spector played a whole of 90 minutes even though he was injured. AG must be thinking he is the next Messi or something! And Gabbidon was totally at fault for the second goal!
But AG came out firing again saying that everything is going according to plan and we now only need 7 out 9 points! Fantastic! So, next time we lose we are relegated, even going by AG's book!
Sav disagree with you about gabbs i htought he had a solid ga,e today and he is not a left back and it was lucky to go in to the net anyway
ReplyDeleteI agree that this was not Gabbidon's worst game. But he was at fault for the second goal.
