So Wenger doesn't want Scotty then. That must come as a major shock to all those who argue that Parker is just what Arsenal need, a midfield player with bite.
The trouble is, of course, that Wenger rates ability over effort and expects his midfield players to have vision as well as an engine. Liverpool want Henderson, Arsenal want somebody other than Scotty, there's no interest from Manchester United or Manchester City and Chelsea aren't about to sign a player they consigned to the rubbish heap years ago.
So God only knows where Scotty will end up if Levy blocks Redknapp's bid for the want away West Ham man.
Isn't this all a bit odd? Surely clubs should be queueing around the block to sign the Player of the Year? Unless the journalists got that one wrong of course. Now there's a thought!
My bet is Sunderland or Tottenham. Sunderland will most likely be willing to pay more. Perhaps Villa or Fulham depending manager. Since he just wants to play premier league football I'm sure he won't mind
ReplyDeleteGood point mate Wengers missing a trick by not makin an offer.
ReplyDeleteKevin in Mnchester writes.. when I heard Scotty chopping down a Swiss outside the peanlty area for the free kick that led to the second goal and then watched the clueless surge into midfield before he ran out of ideas and gave the ball away .. I thought of you sharpenng your pen.. truth is the class you show at age 23 is the class you are stuck with and Scott was warming a Chelsea bench at that age which just abpout sums him up- good but not great. I reckon it's fulham, qpr or bust ( that is staying at upton park)...I'm sure Sam could do something useful for him but he probably thinks that we are beneath him now.
ReplyDeleteTwit again! Wenger likes to build teams over a length of time - scotty is too old for him, that's all
