All hail Big Sam that shall be King hereafter...

Bloody hell we won and kept a clean sheet. And we were away from home. And we were playing a half decent team. And we went into the game without Barerra, Stanislas and Cole. Is this the time to start getting excited, especially with set play wizard Matty Taylor on his way?

All hail Big Sam, Thane of Bolton. All hail Big Sam, Thane of Blackburn. All hail Big Sam, that shall be King hereafter!

Mind you, Avram had a good record in pre season friendlies!

Early days yet, but good start, I would not want to be the coach of Copenhagen!

Yep, we did Shakespeare for the end of year play too. Romeo and Juliet. "What light through yonder window breaks... could it be a new dawn?"

I found it to be a sort of with hold judgement game. There still seemed to be a lot of aimless passing in the wrong directions. We lacked creativity and attacking flair up front. The defence however, did seem to hold a sharp line most of the time which saved us conceding a number of goals, but if Copenhagen had got any shooting ability at all they would have won the match easily. What we obviously need is more passing and movement such as we saw when Sears brilliantly took his goal.

To be fair, our pre-season last year was brilliant as well. We did nothing but win if I remember correctly.

I was at the game last night. What was encouraging was how the teamed played.. well, as a team. They pressed the ball well and worked for eachother in attack.

The most encouraging part though was the fact that the team got 2x better after Montano, Sears, Nouble and Hall came on. Hall and Sears swapped wings constantly, confusing the defence, and Nouble was a BEAST up front compared to Piq he didn't care at all. Montano did well behind Nouble and set up Sears for the goal. And this was against a side who's arguebly a lot better than most championship sides.

But best of all, a manager that knows a bit about tactics; Fuck yes.
