Cole on a "hefty goal bonus"!

According to Sky - and Murdoch's organisation would never misreport anything would they? - Cole's move to Stoke collapsed because of the massive wages he receives from West Ham- reported at £40k per week even after relegation - and his "hefty goal bonus".

Now I understand perfectly well why the basic salary might represent a problem for Stoke but somebody should tell Pulis that the goal bonus really shouldn't be an issue. Let's guess Cole is in receipt of a massive £10k per goal he scores - well over the course of a season he would only earn an extra week's wages in bonuses!

  2. Carlton Cole will flourish with a manager that instills confidence and shows belief in him just as Zola did He's a bit like Zamora technically very skilful but short on self belief and hasn't Bobby done well since he left FS might just be what Cole needs

  3. Deane, if he can't do it this season in the npower then he'd be just as well to throw his boots away. ANY less than 25 goals for Cole this season will be unacceptable for an England striker in this league.

The man's been paid top dollor and he's not delivered what he's been paid for. He's not a kid anymore and he's run out of excuses as far as I'm concerned.

This will be a make or break season for CC and for our sakes..I really hope your right.

  4. Id tend to agree with Deane on this one. How can a guy as big, strong and fast (he IS very fast he just is too lazy to run sometimes) not come good at some stage in his career?

  5. i keep seeing this "fs will turn cole into a goal machine" and i really hope people are right....however....shane long £8m (£5m up front, £3m if he lives up to all that hype), cash in cole for £6m, save £1m and sign a player thats proven at championship level (which is needed this year) and with youth and potential on his side.

There is no right or wrong answer, but we need another forward and one aint coming unless its a free transfer, a loan deal or we cash in on the so called england "stars" that no one is after...

I know HF goes on relentlessly about Parker...but actually Parker is starting to kill us.. we need the money from his sale and him off the wage bill, until they can cash in on the nest egg im not sure we will be able to continue to add quality players like we have so far, so in everyones best interest...rednapp sign parker !!

  6. With you being accused of racism in the past, I think it's a bit tasteless choosing a monkey taking a penalty for an article on Carlton Cole don't you think? Fair enough if you didn't spot it, in which case you'll replace the image won't you?

  7. And the keeper is a tiger, is that an attack on ginger goalkeepers? The image comes from a Ladbrokes page and I am sure is not intended to be racist in any way. You may associate black people with monkeys but I don't. So no, it never occured to me. The point about the image is that all four options imply the shot will miss!

  8. 01:58 - In all fairness to Hammersfan it does look like a WHITE monkey. Seriously though..please go and find yourself some help. And stop trying to help people who don't want yours. The last thing anyone wants is another sicko like the one in Norway.

  9. All four options are associated with the corners of the goal mouth - which implies they'll go in you.

  10. 07:12 Stupid argument. Spotting racism doesn't make one a racist. You knew when those Russian fans held a banner of a monkey and a banana at Odemwingie that it was racist no? So don't talk bollocks with the 'you may associate black people with monkeys'. It's astonishing how people fall for your utter crap sometimes. That is what gives you pleasure though, I'm sure.

  11. All this racism talk is absolute boll0cks. You can't say anything bad about blacks or muslims etc without causing a massive bl00dy scandal. We all know it's not racist so let's all grow up and stop this pathetic political correctness.

  12. Please, Mr Pulis, buy Carlton Cole. He really is a terribly good striker, all round team player and will always give you 110%. Add to that his mental toughness and guile and you really do have yourself a bargain, honest.

  13. OMG you are too racist for words - no wonder stani could no longer stand it, shame on you.

  14. Shane Long? Long looked every bit the goal-scorer last season scoring 25 goals in 50 club appearances.

But, in the previous two Championship seasons, Long’s goal-scoring ratio was just 18 in 79 club games!

    Think that's a big risk.....

  15. It looks to me as if all 4 options are pointing wide of the goal which is why I selected the picture. Tell me, if Cole was white, would it be an issue? No. So the fact that Cole is black makes it an issue in YOUR mind which sadly means YOU associate black people with monkeys which I think is shameful. It is a cartoon for pity's sake featuring two animals playing football. You have to have a sick mind to link those ANIMALS with human "types"! I would use the same picture for a crap white striker like....Peter Crouch!

  16. Funny how someone makes a perfectly reasonable comment about shane long and you decided to pick on the comments of the anonymous idiots.

  17. I think you will find that comment prompted an entire thread. Funny the way you chose to overlook that.
