Southampton and Derby continue to set the early pace. Leicester implode!

Four wins out of four for both Southampton and Derby - and there is no arguing with that! Southampton were not as fluent today by all reports however, and it will be interesting to see how they cope when something goes against them. When you keep winning, a setback can jolt you out of your stride in a major way. Derby, on the other hand, seem to be growing in confidence. I don't expect them to be up there come the end of the season but with a Clough at the helm, who knows?

Leicester managed to blow victory in a delightful way. 2-0 up and Schmeichel not only gives away a penalty but contrives to collect two yellows for time wasting! I'd imagine even Sven lost his cool with the not so great Dane after the game.

Watford kept a clean sheet which makes our four goals against them look still more impressive, whilst Barnsley's victory at Reading was good news for us, as was the sharing of points between Brighton and Blackpool. Things seem to be going our way at the moment!

  1. The only thing that really matters is what we do with our games. I consider the game tomorrow a must win!

  2. So Capt. Plank - what do you know about "When you keep winning, a setback can jolt you out of your stride in a major way" as a spammer fan you have absolutely no experience of this? If you win that will be three wins on the trot which will be your best performance in 12 years! Muppet.

  3. Let's wait and see shall we? I would have a lot of money on one defeat buying a second straight after for Southampton. If I'm wrong, come back on and gloat. If I'm right, be man enough to come on and apologise.

  4. So you lot will win for three on the spin tomorrow then?

And two losses is considered a major setback? - that's a bit rich coming from a man who's team managed only a couple of wins in a whole season.

  6. I said before the season started that I dont see Sven having the stomach for this league. The truthnis, he has not been successful in a long time, and that was one season at Man City. Mexico and Notts County were busts.

And buying players is one thing.

Buying the right players is another.

It will be us and a team nobody expected battling it out.

  7. Hammersfan,

As a saints fan I can say that the prospect of losing and then how we deal with it is scary and something a number of us have been thinking about.

It will be a true test of the character of the team when we do lose our first game of the season but hopefully, looking what happened last year, we can bounce straight back.

  9. Spot on Colin. I have a soft spot for Southampton having been to university in the city and would love you to be promoted with us - my concerns are genuine and, once again, others display numbskull knee jerk reactions to anything they perceive as criticism.
