QPR's Fernandes Opens His Wallet!

Wow! Well it looks like I have to eat my words. Assuming that the Zamora and Cisse deals go through, Fernandes has come up trumps after all. And with Wolves and Wigan getting thumped as I write, it is hard to imagine that QPR won't now have the fire power to survive.

Of course all these new recruits have to gel and they may yet misfire but credit where credit is due, Fernandes has backed Hughes to the hilt and given the Hoops a real shot at staying up. If Hughes blows it from here, his reputation will be in tatters and Warnock will be laughing all the way to the benefit office.

So, apologies to Fernandes and to all you gRs for making you gnash your teeth every time this blog has hit your News Now board. But admit it, you've enjoyed it in a masochistic sort of way. And let's face it, to support QPR or West Ham, you have to be a masochist!

  1. I feel someone must have hacked into your blog, this is not nearly as negative as I was expecting...

I thought you were going to do the obvious and dismiss Cisse and Zamora as old strikers with an average scoring record.

If we sign Zamora that is...

  2. How does that pie taste???

You should have just waited until the window closed!!!

Now you have pie mixed in with a thumping for the Hammers..... karma!!

It will still be difficult for West Ham not to get promoted, especially with the additions today.

Fernandes has done as promised... building for the future starts by staying up and these transfers will ensure that!

    You rrrrsssss

  7. Allo HF, don't think it's a case of humble ! Not exactly the 20-30 mill war chest but it's better than a kick up the R's. Time will tell if the players brought in are any bottle. Won't mention Ipswich tonight... Sorry just did. Good luck pal. Rob Notting hill

  8. Fair enough!

I've read most of your articles and in a weird way they have been interesting. Always impressed with people who can admit they were wrong. God luck to the Hammers as well!

  10. Anony-mouse says,

You're f*cking joking aren't you HF? We've just lost 5 - 1, and had a busy and so far productive day in the transfer market with tons to talk about and your first post is about QPR?!? Final confirmation if any was needed that you are most certainly not West Ham.

  13. With the Ipswich result tonight, it might be best to concentrate on your own team. With Birmingham on a full head of steam, you might have to be satisfied with a playoff place. It must be galling to see what Chris Hughton is achieving, and the circumstances he has faced to do it. Try to learn from QPR and seek consistency.

  14. Is this really you HF....LOL
Not so much humble pie but humble tartlet! Surprised u did not ridicule these signings. I for one are really excite about Zamora-Cisses partnership. More worried about Cisses's attitude an that its just not a pay packet. If Hughes keeps him motivated I have no doubt we will cope with the fierce relegation battle were in. hope Diakite is what everyone expects him to be and that Onouha and Taiwo will make that difference in what I would expect to be young, ferdinand, onouha, taiwo back line. Still a lot of questions to be answered, am I being to pessimistic or doubtful, I cannot say myself for sure but there is a feeling of an elevated hope that we can do it!!!! Dont worry about Ipswich, we had out odd shock last year too. Marathon not a sprint right!
Will not say thank you for admitting you were wrong as it was just your opinion but the way you put your views across is still probably going to get you a bit more abuse even after this. Hopefully you can tight something of a positive nature about us Rs next time....erm...probably not!

  21. Fair play mate.
You definitely have to be a masochist to be on the journey with either the R's or the Hammers.
Someone said this feels like goodbye.
Well it might also be the start of something wonderful...
Or at least the start of something just a bit less shite ;-)
Best of luck for rest of season
