Typical! Cisse collects a red and rules himself out of a six pointer to end all six pointers, and meanwhile Yakubu has served his time and returns rested and hungry for the loser takes nothing showdown with QPR.
Anything less than 3 points would represent disaster for Rovers and would surely drive a nail into their relegation coffin, but QPR may well fall foul of playing for a draw. An away point, maintaining a three point buffer over Blackburn, may be seen as a reasonable result, whilst terror of losing may encourage a safety first approach by Hughes and his charges.
There's talk of using Taraabt in a more advanced role, but there has to be a question mark over both the guy's ability to perform at this level and his commitment. When the going gets tough, Taraabt may well go missing.
Meanwhile, QPR remain vulnerable at the back and the clever money will be on Rovers to net a couple. The big question, therefore, is whether Rangers can reply in kind? A repeat of the 2-1 defeat to Wolves would spell disaster for the Hoops but, if pressed, that would be my prediction.
When the pressure is on Taarabt is at his best. His commitment and drive down to 10 men last week was amazing, last 20 minutes were just Taarabt making wolves look silly, he was fighting for points.
ReplyDeleteOh.
ReplyDeleteHope you are right Peter. Maybe Sparky can press his button. But you have to worry about a guy who even 'Arry couldn't motivate.
ReplyDeleteHarry has a history of not giving young players a chance. I see it as the opposite of being unmotivated, he was a 17 year old demanding playing time. This is Taarabt though you never know what you're going to get, brilliance or frustration, it's why I watch the game. No GRR's about today?
ReplyDeleteTaraabt is playing like a demon at the moment and is giving his all over 90 minutes. We have other more concerning issues in midfield at the moment, that you fail to mention. And that's the whole point really, you don't actually know anything about QPR or have any useful, genuinely insightful working knowledge. Why you spend time on this, I don't know. You've already had to make an embarrassing u-turn apology over our transfers, despite your arguments on here. Why not post something that inspires real debate, but you do need to know a little about your subject matter first I would suggest.
