Gold Thinks We Will Start Winning Soon

Brilliant! I'm not sure what he is basing that on! Perhaps Middlesbrough losing 3-0 at Birmingham. Maybe our illustrious owner is figuring that Boro are so shit than even Allardyce's team could beat them. Maybe.

But if we are honest, this is more an act of faith than an expression of judgement. We have struggled to beat teams in the bottom half of the table with lousy defensive records, so form lines suggest that we are going to find it difficult to overcome teams with much better records.

Allardyce is pleased with the performance on Saturday so that suggests more of the same. No surprise there then! I expect they have been practising hoof ball all day! Any chance of 4-4-2? No chance, Nolan can't play 4-4-2 and with Tomkins injured, we don't have a holding midfielder.

So will it be Cole or Maynard up front? Does it matter? Dear God, I could line up at the back for Boro without too many problems. Even if, by accident, the ball reaches our lone striker, it's odds on he won't score anyway!

So would somebody please Twatter Gold and ask him how he thinks we will win exactly? His answer could be very amusing!

  2. I hate all the long ball shite but, Can anyone tell me who we have that is even average Premiership Quality? This team Are mostly all on premiership money so perhaps that is one of the problems?

If you look closely at our team we are really just above average! in terms of technical abilty we are Just above average. We buy players on the cheap or on free tansfers as they are either very close or past their best I.E( Nolan,Taylor,Faye, MCartney,Diop, Carew) or just ABOVE average i.e (O'brien,Collinson, Cole, Maynard,Vaz Te) In terms of real talent and genuine abilty only Tomkins and lansbury who is on loan look like quality. I do not like BFS attitude in terms of the way he plays the game but he does not have the coaching ability to take average players up to the next level. BFS looks at the cards he has dealt and tries to get them playing the percentage game based on the statistics of the game that he feels he knows, for example if you punt 5 balls long you should score 1. Problem with this is when we only have average players in the current squad. Alladyce's best term in mangement was arguably with Bolton and he had some quality back then to help his way of play. The likes of Youri Djorkaeff, Jay-Jay Okocha, a young Kevin Nolan, Jussi Jääskeläinen, Ricardo Gardner,Iván Campo,Henrik Pedersen. All these players when in their prime would easily get into our current team.

I used to secretly envy teams when they used to play boring football and win things like the old Arsenal teams under Graham, but we don't have the team or coaching abiltiy to do that and probably never will. Would i sell my sole to one day achieve it under Alladyce? i used to think so but now i know in my heart that we will never achieve anything this bunch of overpaid average players are probably going to miss out at wembley in the play offs because another team who want it more and don't have all the material things in life that the core of the current WHU team do. So all in i will have another shit summer knowing that we are still a Championship team.
