Blackburn down, Bolton to follow - Time for Allardyce to cherry pick!

I bet Allardyce is chuckling to himself today following confirmation of Blackburn's relegation, with the probability that Bolton will join them. But more important even than Sam's ego is the opportunity for him to cherry pick the squads, linking up again with players he knows and trusts - should we progress to the Prem.

If Green is on his bike, I would be happy with Robinson and Jurri J as his replacements; in fact if Green isn't on his bike, I would fancy him as the understudy to either the Blackburn keeper or the Bolton Number 2! It must be odds on Kevin Davies will join us - and that will be met with mixed feelings! (And looking at the picture, if he offers THAT service to Allardyce, it's no wonder Sam likes him so much!)

I still like Petrov and think he would give us pace down the left (I know he wasn't there when Allardyce was in charge) and talking relegated players, I would welcome Jarvis from Wolves too, and maybe even Fletcher (although he has been relegated twice in a row which is never a good sign!).

Any other suggestions?

  1. Hoilett is on a free but no doubt a big club will snap him up but its worth a try. Paul Robinson is class and would be pleased if he was brought in. Morten Gamst Pedersen wouldn't be a bad shout and we are always linked with Yakubu, 16 league goals shows he still knows where the back of the net is. I would prefer Fletcher from Wolves, most headed goals in the league and 11 goals for a struggling team, Jarvis is another good shout, wouldn't be surprised to se O'hara linked again either. IF Bolton go down i would like young Stuart Holden and Jussi, Kevin Davies would be a good shout aswel, he has a year or two left in him and would happily come in and out the team when needed (replacing Carew)

  3. Kevin Doyle if the Irishman ever gets healthy! Also Martin Olsson to play left Back (23 and a good player), maybe Scott Dann. Wish we could get Junior Hoillett but with Arsenal linked we've got no shot. And if Reo-Joker apologizes to the fans for what he did years ago maybe he could come back too

  6. I think you should stay up just as I predicted all season. I've taken a lot of stick from the gRs but the season has panned out exactly as I predicted - a season long struggle resulting in narrow survival. All credit to Hughes and to Cisse!
