Tottenham Revival Coincides With Parker's Absence

It may be pure coincidence of course, but it may not. Tottenham's revival has coincided with Parker's absence and with the younger and immeasurably more talented Sandro being given his head. 'Revival, what revival?' some may ask after today's draw at Villa, but Tottenham were down to ten men and Sandro did win the penalty that enabled 'Arry's men to salvage a point. Where was Scotty? On the bench.

This may be the beginning of the end for Parker. As much as his admirers laud his ability, it is an inescapable fact that Scotty has not scored a single goal all season and has assisted just once. I know his backers will trot out the holding midfielder role again, but Sandro was in the same role today and is a much more effective creator even when saddled with defensive duties.

I have always maintained that Parker is a very limited player, energy and commitment apart, and as loyal as 'Arry is to his favourites, it would be no surprise if Parker found himself a squad player next season.

  1. ...or.... could be that Harry's mind is back on his present job after the excellent decision not to even interview him for the vacant England manager's job.
