Aston Villa at home and Swansea away - Six Point Start Needed!

No excuses, the computer has been kind and we have to take advantage. Villa are no great shakes and although they will be out to impress new manager Paul Lambert, will carry scars into the new season. Swansea too will be under new management but we have to ensure that we clip their wings early doors. Both games are, in fact, potential six pointers if we cock them up!

So no dawdling Sam, the new recruits are needed for the season kick off, not for the closing of the window!

  1. November-early December look troublesome. But maybe that's where Sam's pragmatic approach to things will serve us well.

Actually, other than Arsenal (game 7), we should be looking to get something out of the first 9 games and our season could hinge on that. Greater than 15 points would see us in the top half and buoyed with some confidence, many less and it's going to be a struggle, especially with the sequence US Dave rightly points out!

  4. First nine really set up nicely for us. We will have to hit the ground running in those games: 12-15 points should be the target. USA Dave is right: Not going to be bucket loads of points in the following five weeks!

Interesting isn't it HF, you write something about West Ham fixtures and you get 4 comments, none of which you respond to. Then you write about Leeds and you get 13 including your own response. You are known to love your "stats" so a 200% greater response from Leeds "fans" might mean those fans who say this is isn't a west ham site have a point?!

  6. If I write something positive I get a poor comment response; if I write something negative, the comment count goes up. Fact.
