Tottenham About To Rip The Stuffing Out Of Bagpuss!

Interesting that The Mirror are suggesting that Spurs and Redknapp could part company before the end of the month. 'Arry cut a sad figure on the BBC yesterday, admitting he would have taken the England job had it been offered, whilst doing his best to sound upbeat about his future at Spurs. The trouble is, Tottenham have not renewed his contract and are at a major crossroads.

Kranjcar, Saha and King have already left and others will follow. The "great squad" is beginning to age and crack apart, and money will have to spent to replace the bit parts, never mind strengthen the team itself. Modric and Bale, meanwhile, have a big decision to make. Footballers' careers are short and when in your prime, you want to be playing at the very top, not in the You'rearopey League.

So Levy has a problem. Does he trust Redknapp to spend big and build a new squad  - and we all know what 'appens when 'Arry gets his 'ands on the dosh don't we? - or does he cut his losses and find somebody he can trust rather than a fly by night who has a habit of buying short term success in return for long term damage?

How ironic that Levy buggered Redknapp's chances of managing England by putting a King's ransom on his head. Perhaps he put the knife in well a truly by inviting the FA to make a payment into a certain canine's off shore account whilst they were about it!

Poor 'Arry, from a dog with two dicks, he could soon find himself a dog without a bone!

  2. Your keeper is 41; Defoe is heading into his thirties; Modric and Bale have itchy feet; Gallas is on his last legs; Parker is 32 and due an extended spell out injured - playing this tournament may knacker him; will Huddlestone ever return the lithe athlete he once was?

  3. Bale is staying, Sandro is better than Parker, Walker and Kaboul are 2 of the best young defenders in the league, Hudd will be back, BAE is one of the best Left backs. IF Modric goes it will be for huge money and replacements WILL be found. Vertonghen will sign soon as will at least 2 forwards. Levy is the one in charge of the money not HR! Think you should worry about your own team!

  4. Bitter indeed.

From a fan whos teams trophy cabinet is on a par with Preston North End and Huddersfield Town.

Reason to look at ones own team i think.

  9. Always makes me laugh how other teams just take offence to these posts...
If this was a spurs blog there would be a balanced argument

Spurs fans should realise that you make some valid points, although I do agree that they have some good young players and money to replace/build so I see no problem for spurs...

  10. A very reliable source tells me Chelsea are going in for walker and bale, to replace the departing bosingwa and Malouda. Adebayor will NOT be signing permanently for spurs. Modric heading to man united. That's four out if your five best players leaving. But still, youve got super scotty Parker!

  11. So Who is your reliable source? Or is that his name "Reliable Source" You twat!? You know no-one in football, you're talking crap, you fool. How is it that you know all these players destinations before the players know themselves or even the club that employs them? Regardless of the fact that you're not a Spurs fan, you know nothing about our club like all the other idiots who make pathetic remarks, that are more boring than watching your teams play football. Chelsea won the CL with a bunch of pensioners, so what's your point about us having a few older players in our squad?

  12. Wow don't have a go, I know it's frustrating to see spurs on the slope but it really ain't my fault. Best bet is to jump ship, like all your best players are going to do, and start supporting arsenal, muggins

  13. Hahaha Walker has just signed a new contract and Bale has already said he's staying. Mod may well leave but only for HUGE money and Ade may not sign due to excesively high wages! Keep chirping if you like but you know the truth, we're the 4th best prem team.............you lot will be lucky to stay up!

  14. Parker signed a new contract with us but if you hadn't opted for VDV would have joined you a year earlier. New contracts secure a higher selling price for the club and a higher salary for the player when he moves on. Bale says he is staying now, but if Modric goes and Adebayour isn't replaced, he will change his tune. Who will lead your line next season exactly?

oh and third in the championship and we got a cup what did you boys get?

  16. If you're so sure this is gonna happen then why don't you come back in September and give us the "I told you so" then? Truth is, you won't, even if just to say that Adebayor didn't sign, which in honesty, most of us Spurs fans don't expect him to, and you know why you won't? Because you'll already see that you're being written off as relegation candidates already whilst we're being tipped for another top 4 finish!

  17. Where do I say I'm sure it will happen? I was wrong last season because I really didn't expect Spurs to do as well as they did. But if you look at your results from March onwards, it doesn't bode well does it? King has been a talisman and he is gone and that could be decisive. My big question is who will lead the line for you next season. I'm sure you will bring somebody in but as Pavlova proved, spending big does not guarantee success. Who are you being linked with? I haven't seen anything to be honest but I am not an avid reader of Spurs boards.
