1) It's a story from the Mail.
2) I'm not convinced Yossi is an Allardyce type of player. Slight, skilful, reluctant to put in a defensive shift, none of which are at the top of Sam's priority list.
3) Home could be Maccabi Haifa apparently.
4) In fact home could be Ajax, according to the Mail, from where he would no doubt write a diary.
5) In fact, although the Mail hasn't thought of it yet, home could be Tottenham. He's played at West Ham, Chelsea and Arsenal, so why not the full set? And Tottenham is his spiritual home.
6) Yossi is now 32.
7) He and Nolan may get in each other's way.
But we all love Yossi so the story is fun! Altogether now, "He's coming home, he's coming home, he's coming, Yossi's coming home, he's coming home, he's coming home, he's coming, Yossi's coming home! No skin on his cock, Biggest nose still running, Thirty years of hurt, Never stopped us dreaming..."
Always knew this blog was pointless but now I also know it's anti Semitic! You really are an idiot.....
ReplyDeleteHe is very much an Alladyce player don't you remember Sam fought us for him when he signed for us. I always remember his rather sour warning to Yossi " Sign for West Ham and all you'll get is relegation!"
ReplyDeleteAnti Semitic 0908? So Yossi doesn't have a big nose and does have a foreskin then? Shit, sorry. If that's just a Jewish stereotype, then that is disgraceful. Given I have a Jewish grandmother and wouldn't be here had Hitler won the war, or indeed if one of his bombs had hit the family home in Plaistow, that is dreadful! Have you seen Borat? That Cohen guy is an anti-Semite isn't he?
ReplyDeleteMust admit I don't remember that Kevin. Maybe there are legs in the story then!
ReplyDeleteI thought the Anne Frank reference was in particular poor taste.....
ReplyDeleteAh, the Anne Frank reference! Terribly bad taste I agree. Like so much in the Borat movie. Like I say, that Cohen guy is an antiSemite.
ReplyDeleteKevin is 100% correct, HF. In fact, I hated Sam for years because he said that Yossi clearly had no ambition if he chose West Ham over Bolton as the Wanderers were in UEFA Cup that year.
ReplyDeleteBut Yossi still lied to us about Liverpool and I dont forgive that stuff. No integrity.
Normally stick up for this blog, but the pointless and lazy anti-semetic jibes really are tasteless.
ReplyDeleteI'm not excited and I don't love Yossi.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, I remember the circumstances which led him to leave the club, promising to sign a new deal then doing a quick u-turn at the sniff of a move to Anfield.
Fuck him. He's 32 now and leaving West Ham was biggest mistake of his career. I don't want him back.
Sacha baren Cohen is Jewish
ReplyDeleteYou cant compare yourself to Cohen. He is funny sometimes !
ReplyDeleteI'm rarely offended by anything, but the Ajax jibe was in very bad taste.
Please stop writing in the name of West Ham. Stick to QPR or Leeds
racist however you justify it. total scum
ReplyDeleteBlimey, lots of sensitive little flowers on here today...
ReplyDeleteI remember the Allardyce statement.
I thought it was a humorous post and while not laden with facts, blogs are about generating debate through opinions (to which we're all entitled) and not necessarily hardcore facts.
So get a grip everyone, and lighten up. You taking such references so seriously just makes it easier for those who actually are anti-Semitic to use them in anger.
What is the world coming to? Next, you'll tell me we're signing Joey Barton as our club mascot.
i think if that song were sung from the terraces many people would complain that it was in poor taste. but what do i know, i'm just a schmuk ; )
ReplyDeletei'd leave out this jewish and gay material you've been posting recently, we'll have enough of this type of thing from the stands in the euros, it's just not funny when you have a go at it.
ReplyDeleteand you had a go at people on the org for saying yid?! Crikey.
ReplyDeleteI think he's just the type of midfielder we have been crying out for for a while now.
ReplyDeleteI do agree he may not be an Allardyce type of player, but I'm sure he's had the odd creative and slight type of midfielder play in his teams at other clubs
I remember when we signed yossi from spain we convinced him that at bolton he would be bypassed all season. Sam really wanted him and tried to convince him we would go down. I also remember Yossi saying he was gonna sign for us going on holiday coming back and changing his mind. He jumped ship a little to easy for my liking but was a good player forus. Bristol Hammer
ReplyDeleteHello Stani, where have you been?
ReplyDelete1259, that's the point!
Oh, sorry mate, had net issues. Switching ISPs and had two weekends and the double bank holiday fall in between, so they took their time. All sorted today, though.
ReplyDeleteNo need to apologise! But I missed you! Trust you are in good health.
ReplyDeleteYup, all good mate, with God's grace
ReplyDeleteBig Sam tried to sign Yossi before we got him. At the time it was us and Bolton and Yossi went on record to say he came to us because he liked the direction of the club and he didn't like the arrogance of Allardyce. I think he said that Sam told him we were a club going nowhere and that Bolton were on the verge of becoming big. and we would be a backward move for him. He didn't like his arrogsance and like Pardews man management better. I wonder if his attitude has change over the last 7-8 years to come to a club that is managed by Big Sam.
ReplyDeleteMelbourne Hammer
I should have read the rest of the posts first :-)
ReplyDeleteyou used enough column inches to point out that barton was slapped outside a gay club, the brokeback mountain reference etc, then i see your comments to stanni and cant help thinking that you sound a bit light on your feet.repressed or what..
