Warnock has said: "I want to make sure that as many signings as possible are here before we start on July 11. It’s the first day of pre-season when you want or need most of your players on board. That’s when everything starts”, and whilst I am inclined to agree with the sentiment, it does seem a bit odd if millions upon millions will soon be available for buying new players.
It's a difficult balance of course, which makes the timing of the takeover so awkward. If Warnock sits and waits, then freebies like Luke Chambers could be snapped up by the likes of Ipswich Town; but would Warnock be interested in players who played for teams that struggled to avoid the drop last season if he was absolutely certain that the transfer coffers were about to be flooded with oil money?
It's looking increasingly likely that the takeover will happen, but it's also looking to me as if the new owners will look for steady progress rather than an overnight revolution. As I warned yesterday, the gloating Leeds fans may be jumping the gun. Master Bates will be milking every last pound out of the deal that he can, and the need to take ownership of the stadium and training ground may then take priority over the purchase of players. Maybe Warnock knows this, explaining why it is still all systems go in terms of recruiting mediocrity.
It also seems a little odd that secrecy still veils the prospective owners. There has been no statement of intent, no indication whatsoever of what is planned. Why?
So everybody is still marking time, hoping and dreaming and presuming and gloating. We are billionaires may just be a tad presumptuous. We will see.
Wheres all this so called gloating then u prick ?
ReplyDeleteHave a quick flick through the moronic responses to some of the other posts if you want to see gloating my friend.
DeleteThey wouldnt post things on a wet spam site if the tit that writes about leeds didnt matey .....why dont the wet spam moron write about them instead of slagging leeds off all the time ?
DeleteI've always thought we were better at hoping and dreaming than presuming and gloating (especially gloating, that's best left to Cockneys and City Boys). Having read your wise words though I can now see that even with the squillions coming our way we won't actually be starting in the Premiership in August alongside the mighty West Ham. Bugger! Bates Out I say.
ReplyDeleteI came on here for west ham news and views????
ReplyDeleteQuiet like this write up makes sence, though I like the prospect of us becoming a minted team let me dream and hope, does this guys write on behalf of other clubs or just Leeds ???
ReplyDeleteNo woman...named Tracey...got your number batty boy
ReplyDelete"recruiting mediocrity" - what like your marquee signing George "I cant tackle or cross a ball in the Championship" McCartney... I cant see much past a season of struggle for you boys, if I'm honest. Looks like the porn kings are ploughing their cash into sex aids
ReplyDeleteNot one Lufc has contained even the remotest hint of gloating about possible wealth at Elland Rd. We've been well chuffed at the thought of Bates going though. Incidentally,if anyone wondering why the sports coverage is quiet this weekend it's because the worlds press have descended on upton pk for the unveiling of their new left back, cue drum roll-George McCartney. Oh lordy, people in glass houses, eh hammersfan? Who's the club skipper Captain Mainwaring?

ReplyDeleteFor all these millions that could come can't you only spend 6 million with the new league rules?
ReplyDeleteIt makes sense not to reveal the name of the buyer. Players' agents and companies currently involved in negotiations with the club would no doubt demand more money.
ReplyDeleteAnd unless a player is 24 feet wide and eight feet tall, he's not got much hope of keeping out the opposition on his own: Pearce and Chambers are both quality. There's no basis whatsoever for you to assume the new owners are looking for 'steady progress'.
And in any case, for a club like ours two years in the Championship followed by promotion would represent steady progress.
This guys a Leeds fan! Only a fan would know such much about a club!
ReplyDeleteWe are billionaires woohoo!!! Up the mighty whites!!! Oh btw your a knob.
ReplyDeletebutt out tosser. no one cares what you think. your oppinion counts for nothing.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe west ham have just signed mccartney!!! He's not premier league. Straight back down this year!
ReplyDeleteno idea why you bother
ReplyDeleteEvery now and then one of these anonymousers say something sensible and the above one is an example.
ReplyDeleteand the blogger should apologise.
There has been NO GLOATING.
But we are all quietly waiting because even saddam hussein would be a relief from bastard bates.
"it does seem a bit odd if millions upon millions will soon be available for buying new players"
ReplyDelete"if the transfer coffers were about to be flooded with oil money"
Your words, whos being presumptuous?
"We are billionaires may just be a tad presumptuous"
we are billionaires was a comment made by one Leeds United fan on a Leeds United fans Forum which I dont need to name as you already know where it came from....For me it was a tongue in cheek comment, that is lost on someone like yourself (Southern Softy)...You've taken it seriously because your jealous of the possibility that we might have more Cash than you as well as being an entirely better club all round.
West Ham should already be dead and buried but due to all the Alan Sugar's and Russel Brands etc that couldnt bare to see their favourite london club Suffer...Sheffield United got punished and are now where West Ham Should be!
Fantastic capture of George McCartney today I see, Wet Spam really are going places in the premiership....two year contract aswell?! really solid defender he isn't, well done.
I also encourage anybody who uses News now to Hide the games gone crazy publications as they are not written for Leeds fans enjoyment, just to line this Spammers pockets!
Leeds!
Why are u so bothered about us is life so boring down at the sex shop club that super Leeds is all u can think about
ReplyDeleteIs this a West Ham blog or a Leeds blog?
ReplyDeleteIt’s make your mind up time, Fanno.
Nothing personal Leeds fans, but I don’t give a flying f*ck about your club any more than you give a flying f*ck about mine.
So Fanno while you’re jerking off at home over the numbers of hits your blog is racking up, consider this, how many West Ham fans take will take a look at this blog of yours and say “f*ck that for a game of soldiers”?
They will be lost to you and they won’t come back.
Supposedly, you write about West Ham, yet half your audience is made up of fans from other clubs drawn here by your ill-informed insults about their clubs.
At the end of the day, who are you writing for, for yourself of course but don’t be surprised when you fail to attract any readers from the club you purport to support.
And just who have west ham signed oh yes a gk released by bolton at the age of 37 and also a player who has played for you twice already in mccartney bad times ahead for your lot
ReplyDeleteYour only bothered about leeds cos there's nothing going on at your club where going up your going down?
ReplyDeletehammersfan, you are a middle class former public schoolboy who probably has a radio slot possibly even been on the telly. You're obviously minted and own a nice pile someplace in the sticks. i doubt you have ever done a hard days graft like myself and countless other working class blokes, doing overtime so we can take our kids to the football. you devote alot of time to your blog page because you dont have to turn up at the factory every morning like we do. in your own words you 'loathe' leeds united. mate, let it go. get over it.
ReplyDeleteHi ya knob
ReplyDeleteDoctors out of the room again leaving you to yourself again
Clutching at straws now I think
All these comments are goin to back fire on you and then as well as being a knob you will look like one also
As I said before you've a shit team shit ground and a manger who will be sacked after a month and then this time next year we will be passing each other your going down and we are going up
However if the board sell a few more sex blow ups and a few more magazines you may survive financially
Karen still as her TV skills as well, as she knows fuck all about football may be why she's on your Board of directors
Could probably off load a few blow up dolls to Warnock. Would be an improvement on your current back four.
DeleteSad twat
ReplyDeleteStill a tosser, then?
ReplyDeleteWhat a player you have just bought, the world class george mcartney!!! add that to that young up and coming bolton reject keeper.lol well i suppose when you are more than 120 million in debt, you have to cut your cloth accordingly! Add that to the fact you are only the 5th biggest club in london, it must be very hard at the moment been a hammers fan? Wanna borrow any money? lol
ReplyDelete4th Biggest team in London, surely. Either way we were still the biggest club in the championship last season if home and away support is anything to go by. By far that is.
DeleteYou clearly do not read any Leeds banter sites or you would know that there is no gloating by us, just hope, if you want to write about us do some homework first.
ReplyDeleteLeeds for life...
Worry about your own clubs relegation next season you cockney twat bates out
ReplyDeleteWhat a muppet
ReplyDeleteGeorge Macartney..... In the premier league... Hahaha!!!!! The game certainly has gone crazy!!!!
ReplyDeleteprick.....
ReplyDeleteWho? Macartney?
DeleteThat's a bit harsh. Although he is shit.
COYI
You must be a total retard otherwise you would realize that West Ham and Leeds are two different clubs. By the way we are going up and you retards are going down again.
ReplyDeleteSome people on here how do you expect us to react? You try to play on our worst fears so we play on yours and that is us being filthy rich ha ha:-D. Say what you want about the players neil is looking at, he is using the same template he used to brilliant effect at qpr. Few quality free signings and with approx 6m and profits to spend(that all you allowed to invest) going on 4 or 5 quality players and couple of solid hard working championship players probably familier to neil(kenny and buszacky im hearing) by the way HF what about adam drury being better in every way than your left back GEORGE MCARTNEY!!:'( FACT HA HA you would have been better of signing paul mcartney hes much better footballer and he can play on the wings(sorry) ha ha WE ARE LEEDS FILTHY RICH M.O.T
ReplyDeleteThere are two types of players championship and premier. Warnock knows what type of players that are needed to get us back up.When Leeds regain thier rightfull place they will buy the right type of player. You still with me numb nuts. Its a shame west spam havent quite grasped that yet. Ah well your geared up for a quick return losers MOT
ReplyDelete"I came on here for west ham news and views???? "
ReplyDeleteYou won't find any of that here, this is a Leeds United site, we only called it a Wet Spam site to incite their supporters while discussing OUR news.....
... besides, there IS nothing to read about Wet Span any way....
We are billionaires..hmmm, might be a tad presumtious however , it might also be bang on! As, by your own admittance Leeds are your selected Team to support in the Championship this season Hammersfan, how about jumping on the optimistic bandwagon and declaring that we are Billionaires ( probably). That should make your Saturday Afternoons a lot more pleasant seeing your Championship supported side succeeding week in and week out...espcially after the spanking's your Premiership supported side will be getting...Glass half full son!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure this Sheik is a Lovely Geezer, but I think he is paying way over the odds for a League 1 side - 5 Camels and a goat is way OTT!!
ReplyDeleteLeeds fans, we accept youre a much bigger club than us in terms of trophies, history and fanbase. We also accept that we were probably lucky to get anything out of the 2 games last season.
ReplyDeleteHowever, the fact still remains we are in the premiership you are not. Why cant you accept that and go and find your own site?
Tomorrow, Rodney, we'll all be milwyonaires.......
ReplyDeleteTell me, how can a milwyonne Chinese people be wong....
ReplyDelete"However, the fact still remains we are in the premiership you are not. Why cant you accept that and go and find your own site?"
ReplyDeleteWhen are you people going to realise that this IS a Leeds United site?
Just count how many posts have been posted over the last few weeks, and work out who the majority of them are about - certainly not wet spam.....
Why do you think we called it 'the games gone crazy'...???
Actually - it's more like
"why can't you people find your own news and items"
We just feel so sorry for you having nothing to laugh or joke about and obviously none of the premiership fans have noticed you're there....?
LOL Try doing a count, you will find the Leeds threads are in a significant minority. But you have a valid point. There isn't much happening at West Ham at the moment. But have you ever heard the saying, "No news is good news?"
ReplyDeleteHammersfan, believe me when you get promoted with a side not capable of staying in the next division no news most certainly is not good news.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, arent you just completely contradicting yourself with that comment (but I suppose you already knew that)?
