Rob Green Off To Dream Start At QPR!

I've just seen the first goal! My Mum could have saved it and she is in her eighties! And the curler into the top corner that England's 666 went for with both hands!

Five nil! And the gRs thought they were getting a bargain when they agreed a salary of 50k per week for the hero of the United States Soccer Team! Another Premiership relegation to add to Rob's collection perhaps?

  1. Watch Dyer's second and you'll understand what I meant when I used to say Green gives up too easily.

  2. Watching it on MOTD last night it brought back so many memories- of him flapping at corners (if he wasn't in no mans land) not commanding his box giving up as Stani said above quite rightly, I think it could be a long old season for qpr fans

  3. Jussi didn't have much to do for us so lets not get carried away.

But Green wanted more money and a new challenge... he's already fumbled 2 goals since he's been at QPR.

He looked solid for us that game where we won at the Emirates it will live in my memory for a long time.

  4. He is still the best keeper we had since Phil Parkes.

Will be interesting how Jussi measures up, shame we can't snap up Robinson from Blackburn

  5. Get Gordon in on a free and have Jussi as back up cos we all kno he's injury prone. Mind you we have signed 3 keepers already so it won't happen

  6. Do you think Gollivan are paying him an extra weekly bonus just to fcuk Fernandez over

  7. How can people slag Greeno off now? He got us out of trouble so many times, & was by far our best player for years behind Parker. It has eased the blow that he let in 5 on his debut for them, but let's not get carried away now.

  8. i must say i did smile when i saw some of his goalkeeping yesterday, the poor memories of Green flooded back, however he is better than that, the big problem qpr have now is that green is a confidence player and that result will not have gone down well.

Its his own stupid, greedy fault as he was settled well at west ham, he would have done fine for us, a defence that he knew and understood.

No saying JJ is any better, in fact i still think we have weakened our defence by losing green, but hopefully JJ will recapture his golden days under bfs and that green falls apart and qpr get relagated instead of us lol

  9. miklosko was solid, shaka in his first spell was amazing and even james was a step up from green, for every goal green single handedly saves he single handedly gives another one away by palming it into his net or not coming for a corner...he was lucky not to concede a 6th after flapping at a cross (cant call that a punch) and they hit the bar. he will not be missed, good luck to him and his 50k a week, i think the debate was is he worth 50k a week, not has he been a good player for us and im afraid he aint worth 50k

  10. Im going to assume you've heard this joke already, but in case you haven't its an instant classic.

QPR Fan: Excuse me, do you have the time?

WHU Fan: Yeah. It's five past Green.

  11. Totally agree with Pete- Green is the 2nd best goalkeeper we have had in my 40+ years behind Phil Parkes. Not sad he had a howler yesterday but make sure we give him a brilliant reception when QPR visit us. Tevez took the glory in the great escape but for me Green, Collins and Zamora were immense. Not sure Jussi is the answer and no clues from yesterday but he will do a job for at least 2012/13.

  13. Some respect is due to a former great West Ham player.
After all he played his hart out when he was with us.

  14. Pete are you having a laugh! I never got to see Phil Parkes play but have heard how good he is from other people.

But really Green better than Ludo? Better than Shaka Hislop? Better than David James?

Think the heat has gotten to you lol

  15. Be interesting to see if Henderson comes in if Jussidoesn't measure up.
Interviews I've read with some of the coaches suggest that he may be a bit good.
I wonder if "Give it up" Green still thinks he's worth more than the wages he was offered to stay?

  16. CulDeSac says...

Qpr's midfield and defence are a joke. And why did Derry come on the pitch 10 minutes before the end ? To avoid numbers six and seven ? I don't have anything against QPR (infact, I still remember the times of Parkes, Mancini and Venables, it was a fun team to watch), but this squad is built in an illogical and erratic fashion, with players that have their best days behind them.

It is certainly going to be a VERY long season at Loftus Road....

  17. Green has got away with murder for years . I am delighted the greedy bastard has got his come uppance ...long may it last.

  18. There must be something about ex WHU players and their QPR debuts... First Dyer's 7 minutes and Gabbidon's howler, and now Green's nightmare!

  20. AppyAmmer:

I still stand by my statement!

Ludo had one good season, same with Shaka. James did nothing whilst at WH but take us down and on crazy money!

The season of the great escape showed what a good keeper Green is, especially with that performance at Arsenal when we won won 1-0 but actually should have lost 5-1 if it wasn't for Green! We got a good return for our investment as he was a consistent performer for the time he played for us.

  21. So based on a few gems where Green played well, he is better than those? LOL

Green has produced some really good displays in a West Ham shirt, no one could say otherwise.

But better than Ludo alone? West Ham v Man Utd last game of season comes to mind when Blackburn won title. Thats equal to anything Green has done at least. So what about all the other great saves/ great games Ludo played. I vaguely remember him being linked to Man Utd at one point, has Green? Would they touch im with a barge pole?

Lets see, David James has layed for liverpool 214 times, and has 53 caps while Green has played for us a Norwich and has 12 england caps.

    Thats just two of them.
