Cracks Appearing In Leeds Take Over Bid

Very interesting. Speculation continues to mount about the financial viability of the prospective buyers of Leeds United. Until recently, the deal was hidden beneath such a cloak of secrecy that many wrongly believed - and claimed on here - that Gulf Finance House ne Gulf Finance Capital were simply fronting the deal; now we know that GFH / GFC are the full shebang and the deal lives or dies on the ability of the dubious Islamic bank to finance the purchase.

Well now  Sa'Pinto, French & Weir of REUTERS have put the cat amongst the ibises by declaring that GFH/GFC "appears to have little financial fire power to complete the deal". Ouch! Six months down the line, this is not what Leeds fans want to hear!

Apparently, the company has"previously taken big fees from projects that rarely see completion" . Double ouch! Maybe that's why the take over is dragging on so long.

The report adds the GFH group "had more than a quarter of a billion dollars of accumulated losses and less than $6M in cash at the end of June." Bloody hell! No wonder the company is seeking cheap publicity!

Apparently, 2011 produced a profit of less than half a million dollars - and they want to buy Leeds and take on Premiership wage bills?

It's all beginning to sound like samboosa in the sky to me. But I'm sure Leeds fans will tell me the take over will definitely happen tomorrow.

Or the day after tomorrow

or the next tomorrow

or the tomorrow after that

or tomorrow's tomorrow's tomorrow's tomorrow's tomorrow

or...

  2. This blog is weird. Owner seems to get some bizarre pleasure out of people hating him!

Every post I've seen is painful cry for attention, 'cept it's all hate for the author.

Very odd behavioural traits, I can't begin to imagine what you're like as a human being.

I feel sorry for your wife and kid!

  3. What a complete tool you are! Nobody knows the bank balance of the potential owners as they have already clearly stated many times that there balance sheets aree not public. So going off what papers say reference GFH who's money they aren't using is just selling papers and all rumours plus just pathetic jibes. You yourself know this but as usual you like to wind up the leeds faithful by writing ridiculous articles. What a wanker!

  5. We Leeds fans only know as much as anyone else, unfortunately. ultimately all we want is whats best for the club and although that will in the long run mean Ken Bates selling up or dropping dead (I wont say which I would prefer) it will do the club no good to be sold to someone with no means of investment or who will not invest. What the majority want is progressive ownership who re-invest the considerable sums of money created by the football club, back in the football club.

  8. Very predictable HF. Just a case of looking for more hits and retorts. Once again people like yourself just recycling old news and putting 2 + 2 together and getting... whatever you decide if there's nothing else worth writing about! Patience is a virtue and something that's clearly lost on you.

  13. The take over is a f-cking joke as a Leeds fan ken bates should sell the club and f-ck off And gfh should f-ck off Too if they have got the money why is it still going on

  14. 11.16 this is a listed company, therefore it's accounts must be made available, even private companys' have to produce accounts. as to the takeover, you could have driven a coach and eight through all the cracks from day one; however the money for the proposed takeover had to be lodged with an independent source and held in escrow pending completion; Bates and the football league had to have sight of this otherwise suitability tests will not have been met. depite all the rhetoric my best guess is they will stick with us till promotion, walk off with the £60 mill tv rights and "accept" £100 mill from new owners (already waiting in wings i suspect)why doesn't Sheik Mansour sell that blue shite across the hills and buy a decent club?

  16. Seriously, are you even aware of how much of an absolute embarassment you are making of yourself on this blog?

Are you really so desperate for attention that you have your own blog where you just come out with the most pathetic drizzle just to get people to notice you?

As Mark Twain once said "It is better to remain silent and be thought of as fool than to speak out and remove all doubt".

  17. It's called making commercially tactical tax elections as part of a continuing re-organization and management of debt. The Leeds United project will see completion because completion is the Premier League. Their pay-off will come in the form of taking us public in an IPO 4 years later. What you write has no tangible effect on the deal or Leeds fans.

  18. West Ham's 'Glory Years' 1960s - highest position = 9th

    West Ham's League titles = 0

West Ham's Greatest success = living vicariously of the achievements of Banks, Ball and the Charltons, 1966

    Says it all...

  20. I've tried reasoning with Dr Weevil, and he did appear to improve for a while. This is definitely a relapse though, and shows all the old signs of a writer trying too hard to appear witty, and the underlying desperate need for attention.

I think the only thing to do now is hold the guy down and forcibly administer a heavy dose of Ritalin. Counselling only goes so far in the more severe manifestations of ADHD.

  22. what a complete knob! All you are doing is transferring paper talk to your own blog and twisting it to make a great club like leeds sounds shite! LUFC is a club with history and titles to go with that history...what have west ham got.....a one way ticket back to the championship

  23. How many replies do you get on bloggs that dont have Leeds in the title hf ??????? Took me ages to read through the replies on the rednapp to ireland rambling. Bit naughty and troll like i thought and very immature, like yourself really. Thats your blogg not the replies, as there isnt any.

  24. I'm a Leeds fan & usually enjoy your articles but this one doesn't really get of the ground. The key point is that it's not known if the funding is from GFH or a backer behind them. The source of the finance is the point of the confidentiality agreement. So I live in hope that there is a super rich backer!

  25. Getting worried are we? Is the penny dropping that LU will be in a higher position than WHU because it will happen, you know it will, history will repaet itself. The interesting question when that situation occurs is who will you try to wind up then. Time to get on your thinking cap, I guess its not a very big one.

  27. When was this take Over first promised? About the end of May, I think? June, July, August, September, October. When? November/ December? January has to be the cut off point for even the most ardent believers! I come to this blog expecting to be antagonised, but more often than not it's the fans' replies which annoy me. Their unwavering faith in this bloody phoney takeover. My verdict on your aricle: Fair comment.

  32. 1128, can you check your address you are posting from, your comments seem to hit into SPAM for some reason and I rarely check SPAM. Site traffic has not dropped for your imformation. The site is currently showing over 2.8m since its inception and it took 20 months to reach 50,000. You are right people can exercise choice, but the repeat visits show that the site has an undeniable appeal. West Ham and Leeds fans are masochists by definition after all.

Why the fury though? Chill. Have fun. See the site for what it is, a voice in the desert, easy to ignore if you so choose.

  33. 1347 Mate focus on Bucharest. Visit Oscars if West Ham are playing (in Lipscan)but if not, try Casa D'Amici. I'll buy you a pint for 70p before the fight. In fact, I might buy you a few pints at that price and a Pizza at £3.50. Who knows, we might decide to settle our differences on the basis of who slips below the table first!
