Di Canio Should Apologise to Tottenham

After the disgraceful events in Rome this week, perhaps even die hard Di Canio fans can understand why I have always been opposed to him returning to Upton Park as our manager.

Perhaps Di Canio would now like to have the names of the two stabbed Tottenham fans tattooed beneath the word Dux on his arm. After all, the Lazio Ultras would love to be reminded of their victims should Di Canio ever salute them with a straight arm again.

PDC may claim he is a fascist and not a racist but the anti semitism on display this week showed exactly the nature of the animalistic scum that the former Lazio man used to pander to.

I am not in the UK at the moment but I hope to God that Di Canio has been pressed on this subject and that he has unequivocally condemned the behaviour of the Lazio fans and apologised for his previous behaviour. If he does ever progress to the Premiership as a manager, I believe Tottenham would be fully within their rights to say he is unwelcome in their stadium.

If you light the fires of hate, somebody will be consumed in flames sooner or later.

  1. So as a result of what went on, Di Canio and all Lazio fans are being painted with the same brush? Expecting Di Canio to apologise for something he wasn't involved in is pathetic. Don't believe everything you read in the press.

  6. I appreciate what i think are your sentiments and if he was questioned about it he should condemn the people who took part. But i'm not sure he should be forecoming with an apology. I have always taken him with a pinch of salt and he doesn't seem like the most intelligent of men, as that picture proves, in the past he's not really engaged his brain and obviouslt didn't understand the true content of his actions. But the bottom line is he's not to blame for what happened. The Italain authorities are the one needing to apoligise, which has been started by their FA, but they need to start acting on a problem that has always been there in Italian football and has never been address properly.
