QPR Expects, Can Redknapp Deliver?

So, for the one millionth time, Mark Hughes was not going to be sacked as QPR's manager - so said Tony Fernandes. And that was after the 1-3 reverse at home to fellow strugglers Southampton. Less than a week later, Hughes is out of a job and QPR fans must be wondering if Tony the Great knows his arse from his elbow.

Who is running the show at Loftus Road? Fernandes clearly wanted to retain Hughes but it appears that he has cracked under pressure from the fans and other members of the Board. So now the Hula Hoops go into the game with Manchester United without a manager - and where's the sense in that?

Why not give Hughes one more game? What has happened this week that has made his immediate sacking imperative? Maybe Fernandes believed the guff about Redknapp going to the Ukraine. If so, he is a bloody fool. Redknapp won't manage a club north of Watford, he's hardly likely to entertain managing a nation on the Eastern extreme of Europe!

The anointment of 'Arry seems inevitable but is he really the right man for the job? He failed in a similar situation at Southampton and you have to wonder if Fernandes will give him the financial backing 'Arry will need. Can QPR afford to offload the dross signed by Hughes and finance their replacement with 'Arry's usual band of mercenaries? Fernandes should look at Portsmouth before he hands Redknapp an open cheque book!

That said, the position is far from hopeless. I posted this week that QPR only have to show mid table form to escape the drop. 'Arry will have his "must win" games list sorted and his "must sign" list too. Top of that list? Don't be surprised to see 'Arry bid for Rio, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole and Scott Parker!

And don't be surprised to see QPR filing for administration if 'Arry isn't kept under control!

  2. Mittal was going to sell if he wasn't gone. He owns 1/3 of the team and I bet his money makes up more than fernandes' does. They are currently running a wage bill of negative 5 million euros a month.

Lets hope they just keep this magnificent run going.

Hey HF you ready for beckhams return? I believe GS will make a pitch for him. I love the galaxy, I've watched most of his games. He still has it, he reminds me of Pirlo, slow pace, but carves the attacks with skill.
