Oh dear. Rob Green starts and gets a strong hand to a shot but fails to turn it around the post, and Redknapp's big pick, SWP fails to convert when clean through on goal with only the keeper to beat. Have Redknapp's magic and luck been strangled in the Hoops of despair?
His appointment was made to coincide with two soft fixtures. The minimum target for the games against Blunderland and Villa would have been four points, with six truly needed given QPR's desperate position. Instead, two more games have passed without a win and QPR remain on target to record the lowest points total ever in the Prem.
That won't happen of course. QPR will win sooner or later, even with Green in goal, Anton on the bench, Dyer and Zamora on the treatment table, Fernandes in Malaysia and Cisse in the hairdresser's. In fact, they could still make it through 20 points even with Joe Cole starring in his own mind, Parker turning in ever decreasing circles and Rio in a queue for his pension!
To buy, 'Arry has to sell, but who would want to buy any of these QPR misfits? They have come and seen and failed to conquer - and not for the first time. Even Estaban Granero was pulled off at half time yesterday - and that was before the truly cold weather cuts in. What price the Spaniard heading home in January? A cut price, that's for sure!
Redknapp inherited a mess but that mess has got messier since his arrival. To escape the drop, QPR had to win yesterday's game, and they failed to do so. To make it to 38 points, QPR now need 32 points from 23 games, that's 1.39 points per game. Over a 38 game season that would see a team finish on 53 points. That's now one hell of an ask for a team yet to record their first victory and relying an an honest journeyman like Mackie to score their goals. So much money has been spent so stupidly as I repeatedly warned last season.
Still Joey Barton could always be recalled and may yet be the Messiah!
I thought I'd leave you at least one post for your efforts HF. It seems the RRRR's are getting wise to your strange posts about other clubs on a West Ham related site.
ReplyDeleteI think it's more a case of hiding in humiliation. All last season the gRs boasted about how QPR were going to ram my words down my throat and insisted that West Ham wouldn't win promotion and would go straight back down if by some miracle we got up. Super rich QPR were going to be a top 10 team, then a top four team then...Top ten in the Championship next season perhaps!!!!
ReplyDeleteDon't think 38 will be enough, apart from last two clubs, no real gap in table, so all in mix!
ReplyDeleteThere are 7 teams averaging a point a game or less. 38 will be enough to survive. In fact, 36 could be sufficient!
