Warnock Sweating On GFH Funding of Leeds Signings

Interesting. Despite a one hour meeting after the 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace, Old Big Gob is still unclear how much money will be made available to him in the January transfer window. Those hoping for a bumper spending spree might be concerned by Warnock's dampening of expectations with the former QPR manager saying, “If we get the four loanees tied up and Diouf as well then I don’t think we need many more. I think we’d only be looking at a striker on top of that.”

So, loan signings and one new striker? Is that going to transform a team currently in the bottom half of the Championship? Not so long ago there was talk of a £10m transfer war chest. That was then revised down to £8m. Now, it seems, we could be talking £2m, because no striker valued at more than £2m would entertain a move to Leeds at the moment.

The Yorkshire Post also report that moves for Gradel and Beckford could be frustrated by their salaries. It seems that the oil rich mystery man behind the buy out wants to do it on the cheap, just like Master Bates.

Meanwhile, the Mail has reported that a tranche of money owed as part of the deal is now overdue whilst the Yorkshire Post report that the new holding company of Leeds United has been registered in the Cayman Islands. If you didn't know better, you might think that Bates is behind the deal himself!

This is not what Leeds fans were led to expect when the rumours of a Middle East buy out first surfaced. The Leeds squad is inadequate as results have proved; if GFH are serious, why the hell are they not promising megabucks to get Leeds to the promised land of the Prem?

  1. Sorry to upset you but us Leeds fans are not worried at all.

  2. Yes, its very disappoiting that Warnock only wants to tie up the loan men and only go for one striker. Is there not money to do better or what? If there is about 8 mill £ to purchase players so why did he not do so. Leeds are not good enough to push for promotion with the squad they have currently. Sorry foe my english, but its not my daily language.

  4. Any reason why you write obsessively about Leeds United rather than the club owned by those dildo sellers?

After all, this blog is about that club - isn't it?

  5. Simple's the more u have to spend the more other teams want so it makes sence to not divulge the exect amount and btw Warnock was asked to make a list of who he wants but what concerns me more is the gaffer is not one to spend heavy so can we expect more of the same of what we already have which would not be good news

  11. Again using the YP as your source for the bullshit you post. The YP know nothing of wot is happening at ER, that's why they have to resort to printing negative shite or regurgitate old hat, no substance stories. Maybe you should come back to the UK and offer them your expert jouralistic skills hf?

  14. First off I'm a West Ham fan, No disrespect to Leeds or their supporters, But I don't give a flying Fudge what Leeds get up to, and nor should you, You're embarrassing other WHU fans, why don't you stick to talking complete crap about us, and at least we won't get any more unwanted enemies, All I have to say about Leeds UTD is good luck in getting back to the top flight where you belong, and I'm sure your manager and new owners know a lot more about getting there than this hack,

  27. Yet another story with no fact or substance! You said for months the takeover wouldn't happen and it did! Your own fans think you are a complete tosser! It's getting boring with your daily posts on the decline of LUFC. Do you actually think people take you seriously? Time has proven you wrong on numerous things and I'm sure it will prove you wrong in January too. So go back to dodging trophies and let us get on with rebuilding our club! All you doing is making hate between our clubs and it's gonba boil over next time we meet and it will be your fault by publishing this complete drivell!!!

  28. What sort of idiot is inspired to hate by drivel? See a psychaitrist mate!
