Barry Hearn Making An Irritating Buzzing Noise Again!

Isn't it time somebody rolled up a newspaper and swatted him? Or better still, send one of those trucks round that suck waste out of septic tanks and train its vacuum pump into Hearn's office?

As a kid,  I used to love sucking bluebottles up the hoover, hearing them buzz up the metal pipe, banging against the sides before being suffocated inside the dust bag. Hearn could buzz about the Olympic Stadium all the way into the drum and then drown in the effluence inside the storage tank.

His latest gripe is that Orient weren't allowed to share the stadium! Like that would make any difference! If Orient were to share our ground, their fans might as well go the whole hog and support a proper team rather than a bunch of cockney rejects!

Just imagine Orient in the Olympic stadium! It would take fifteen minutes to retrieve the ball when it was kicked off the pitch as a call went out, "If there is a supporter inside the stadium, please make himself known to the one steward to help search for the ball."

  6. He is a twat. If Orient pay half of the cost of securing the bid and half the conversion cost perhaps it would make sense. As it is they are having a laugh ... Silly little club should be playing on the Marshes . GET LOST HEARN

  8. The audacity of the guy. He was the one who reported Newham Council and West Ham to the European Court and caused the process to restart. Then, while we were still in the Championship that the FA never gave us their permission to bid for the Stadium. After we were promoted, and the process was restarted with West Ham the favourites again, he swithched to sharing the Stadium with him. And of course he means just the Stadium (not half the costs of rebuilding and the operating expenses).

As HF points out, it is really pathetic. Even if it was at all possible to come up with the sharing of the capital and operating expenses, he will do that so that his Leyton Orient and its 2,500 supporters would grace the Olympic with their presence every other week. Really, makes one want to vomit at the thought that such arrogant and audacious people exist in British football. I thought Sheffield United was the rock bottom, but Hearn exceeds that.

Very interesting Bloomberg interview with Richard Scudamore on 3rd party agreements.

Effectively says West Ham executives lied to his face about the Tevez deal. Got the impression from what he said that the Premier League's rules (which have been tightened since the Tevez saga) could have been challenged had we pleaded not guilty.

Scudamore also says the record £5.5m fine was enough of a punishment (without points deduction) and that should've have been the end of the saga. Interestingly says McCabe's follow up legal challenge should never have been allowed to happen. How much did we end up paying Sheffield United because of something that shouldn't have been allowed to happen?

The most interesting part is when he says: "What West Ham did and what actually happened was wrong and those players should not have been entered into the league on that basis. However, having said that, on the rules as drafted then, WE COULD HAVE EASILY WORKED WITH WEST HAM PROBABLY TO HAVE CRAFTED THOSE AGREEMENTS SO THAT THEY DID FIT WITHIN THE RULES…HAD THEY COME TO US UPFRONT AND DISCUSSED IT UPFRONT, WE COULD HAVE PROBABLY REGULARISED THOSE AGREEMENTS".

This all points to somebody's ineptness. Wasn't Duxbury responsible for giving legal advice at the time?

  11. Stani, I have had to amend your submission slightly, sorry. Watford FC are in a punchy mood it seems and legal threats are issued should a certain individuals name be mentioned. We can all presume who was guilty but it appears that to state it openly may trigger action. To protect you and me, I have left in a question but carry no categoric statements.
